A friend of mine put together a cassette recording of various songs and this was when I was introduced to Gary Moore. Love this song. Spent countless hours alone at nights listening to this doing bong hits, push ups, curls, repeat
@@LouderGrawlix Was a fan since the 70s was all geeked up to see him on the Black rose tour at the 79 world series of rock show 10 days before the show he quit Thin Lizzy just killed me finally got to see him in 83 on the Corridors of power tour here in Detroit then again on Victims same venue then last time at the Ritz on the Wild frontier tour in 87 my playing style was pulled from years of listening to Garys music.
I had a live version of this song on an old audio cassette, and I've just found out it's from this, and I agree, from other live versions that I've heard, this has been the best.
Its something how he took a subject that is so written about , sung about etc etc etc . overdone and managed to put such a touching spin on it. The thought is the same old story over and over and over and over , yet he put something together which is so poignant , actually heartbreaking and deep and not a bit of cliche here . The guy was just damn great thats all . This song brings tears up thats for sure , s no joke. The studio version is good as well but this one is just " too much for the senses for handle" its a tear jerker.
seems so long ago , but it was just yesterday.... the ruines of the time, it must be... now the room is empty .. where did u go ... so far away from me ... an old photography and old song is all what i got ... empty rooms memories.
My favorite version of this song. Killer solos.
Killer?? atomicossssssss
Great song that brings us back 40 years when things were not so chaotic. Miss you Gary Moore and Godspeed.

❤Extraordinary!!! Great Artist!!! ✌️👌👍🙏Rest in Peace!!! Forever in my memory!!!
That's how you do a solo, right there. Such immense feeling, yet subtle nuance.
I was at Harpos in Detroit for that part of this albums recording front row right in front of Gary just an incredible show.
Man, I envy you for that. I hadn't even heard of him when this was recorded, and never actually got to see him live.

Definitely the best version of this classic. How many men relate to these lyrics. I certainly did 10 years ago.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if Moore's playing on this recording doesn't move you, you're a robot. And you need to be recalibrated.
Super slow avec l attaque a la guitare
