    Pull out shelves are a great way to add storage efficiency to your existing cabinets and are always a feature that I recommend to clients when building new cabinets. They allow easy access to items that are stored at the back of the cabinet which are always difficult to access with regular fixed shelves. If you have questions or comments please be sure to leave them below. Hope you find the video helpful!

    I wonder where in America or internet, I can find good sliders like those you are using. Are they specify by weight resistant?

    • @DPShopTalk
      @DPShopTalk  6 лет назад +17

      +Joey Cymbals I always use 100 lb weight rated slides for drawers and pull outs. I'll put a couple of links below for slides that I've used and recommend.
      Accuride makes a high quality slide. They are a bit more expensive but are less greasy and work very well.
      amzn.to/2y8D3Di
      The Pro Series slides are much more economical and still work very well. I find they do have a bit more grease on them so I usually wear a glove when handling them like I did in this video. That avoids getting grease on the finished project. I've used these slides on a lot of different projects from pull outs to kitchen drawers.

      Same. I've used 100lb and seen others do the same. It seems to be a good rule of thumb.

      The links are backwards but I get the point. I have them both in my Amazon's wish list. Thanks for bother in looking the links for me. That's very kind, have a great winter!!

    I really don't understand people giving this a thumb's down. Most people click on the video, because they have an interest in learning how to build shelves. If this is you, and you gave it a thumbs down, do you know how much free information you just got? If you got this info in a college course you paid for, you would be thrilled. You just got that for free from the comfort of watching it on your screen wherever you are in only a few minutes. Whether you agree with everything he did or not, the amount of information that can be absorbed is pretty amazing. Think about that.

    • @DPShopTalk
      @DPShopTalk  5 лет назад +29

      Thanks for your comment Robert, I appreciate it. I've never really understood the thumbs down either. Even if I don't really like a video all that much I'll just move on and not give it a thumbs up. Like you said it's free information that someone has taken their own time and resources to create. In my opinion, unless a video is very offensive, a thumbs down is just rude.

      OMG Robert! I 100% agree about the wonderful free information that Dan is giving. My husband and I know absolutely nothing about carpentry but are trying to learn if we can find a very simple but effective way to retrofit my very small, (appx 5’x13 in double door pantry), with shelves into our 1925 bungalow. I just came home from having a double mastectomy and cannot lift heavy objects anymore. Dan’s is gifted and I truly appreciate his videos. Dan you get 2 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 from us. Stay 😷

    I use solid wood on each rail piece and rabbit a 1/4” slot for a floating 1/4” plywood bottom the latest job I did was 14 pullouts all maple with 2 coats of sprayed clear finish. This makes for extremely strong shelves which will never be susceptible to kitchen moisture. I like to use KV slides. As for the set up for install you are spot on.
