So you'll probably laugh but I'm a Heavy Equipment Mechanic by trade for over 30 years now. But I love watching your videos and learning about the engineering, fine mechanics and intricacies of sewing machines. They are so cool. Here in the States you can find these older machines for nothing. Just bought a beautiful Morse for $30 that wasn't driving the machine where somebody had loosened the hand wheel too much and dropped the engagement washer between the wheel and the drive shaft and tightened the nut back down. Also bought a beautiful Elna Blue Top in the cabinet for$50 with no issues. It's actually sad for me for the amount of engineering and such that goes into these beautiful machines and this is all they're worth.
Found a Singer 99K-31 model for $8.00 that is still working and has the original light bulb and cover. It needs a new belt, and some cleaning up/restoration, but it was a nice find. I am only 85% certain is it a 99K-31 though as I have been looking up Singer models online for a couple of days. Found your channel during my searches. Cool to see a channel from a fellow Kiwi.
Thanks for this. I bought an 830 a number of years ago and this was in fact the problem with the machine. Fortunately the kind folk of RUclips helped me out.
Thanks for showing how to deal with this issue, I would think this was a hopeless scenario but you’ve surprised me with this straightforward repair! Thanks for expanding my sewing machine knowledge and confidence ! Happy New Year for 2023…Ann
I just left a comment about what constitutes a servicing on a Bernina of older vintage, as I have a 1000 Designer as well as a 930 (which incidentally has this exact problem-Thank you!!) BUT I have no one in the area who is in sewing machine repair anymore, so it would be really helpful to know what constitutes a full servicing. Thanks again!
I have a Bernina 940. The needle breaks because it hits the rotary bobbin case at the wrong time. Can you do a video about how to fix that issue, please?
I jave same problem in my machine same bernina i followed your instructions but didn't fixt still tthe needle hitting the presser foot can you help me please why
You are helping so many people fix their machines with your knowledge…much appreciated!

I have a 950 and my gib hook came out and I don’t know how to fix it. Would you please do a video on replacing the gib hook for the 950? Thank you.
Thanks, is this a similar mechanism on a vintage 530? Mine doesn’t have this problem, but if it ever does then this is good to know about
An excellent video, thank you for showing this fix

Hi do you do repairs on sewing machines?
where can i buy this machine;
Hello, can you tell me where I can get the internal belt of that machine, thanks
Maybe try your local sewing machine repairers. You may get lucky. Thanks.
Do you have anything for a brother like this
Cut to the chase: 5:18
Thanks so much for this !
So interesting, I’ll pull my 930 out and have a play
my favorite Bernina👍👍👍
Wow!!
I can't believe you would recommend WD-40.. You should know better. It turns to a sticky mess when the solvents evaporate.
It's okay as long as you use sewing machine oil after it. I actually use CRC 5.56 instead of WD40.
@WApnj, that was rude! But he handled it well, better than I would have🤦🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️
