Super interesting angle - I love that composers created the technology for composers! Viewing it as an enhancement to our current processes makes A.I. easier to grasp :)

Encouraging to hear that those "in the know" see AI as an opportunity for creativity, and not an existential threat (as has always been the case with new technologies in music!).

I see the most confusion and fear when it comes to the actual 'creation' part and AI. I've been using "AI" for years now when it comes to my mixing and mastering tools. I can't run a massive mixing console, and I live in the digital world anyways. It's also a massive time suck to do things 'the old way'. I already spent 12 hours making something, so I appreciate the 'help' at the end.
So, yea, if there's another tool I can add to my arsenal that helps me make more high-quality music faster; then I'm in. Even now, I've got patches that take triads to play full orchestral arrangements. I simply adjust MIDI files. That's not terribly far from where we find ourselves today. It's just fun too.

It is the beginning of the end of human-produced music. First composers teach AI every trick they do, then AI will do it better, faster, and way more creative. Then AI will be so much better than humans that no one will ever want music from composers. And it will happen fast !!! Just wait for a year or a maximum of two. Composers who know how to work with AI quickly will claim that music is their own, or, they will never be able to make an income
