This woman is lucky, she got YOU to analyse her! Great job! I watch your videos and it's like magic, I never understand these triadic system frequency, all colours look ugly (in my opinion) and then ta da ... perfect colours! ))
I feel the same way, it´s like magic (except it´s a scientific process). This method allows for such accuracy, I enjoy analyzing every client so much. Yes, all triadic colors appear ugly because the chroma and depth is not right for anyone. But this extreme appearance allows to recognize frequency values and dissonance (and I rely more on calculation than observation to not be influenced by my perception in this step or my emotions - this is the highest level of objectivity I can provide).
White is definitely a difficult one. The white that works for me is somewhere in the middle of the spectrum between a bluer white and a more yellow white. Ivory works, but not always, with a tan I need to go a little "cleaner" white again. I do like white a lot though. Side Note: When we were painting our master bathroom I wanted a "creamy" white with no yellow. I ended up with 27 swatches of white to pick from.
@@ellaraystyle We used Benjamin M Chantilly Lace. It's kind of a classic that a lot of people use, but with our huge western exposure and marble tile it worked out pretty well.
White white is my color. I wear a white top almost everyday. A lot of the shades you showed I would consider cream. Which I love but doesn’t look good on me.
I remember, before a holiday once, i thought i should buy a white top that would go with all my skirts. I took 7 tops into the fitting room. They all looked terrible. I also picked up a lime-green top just because i liked the colour. After getting depressed by how terrible i looked in all the white tops, i put the lime green one on. And hey presto, my skin looked radiant.
same here, I desperately wanted white to be my friend when I was young. But it turned out I have better friends in other hues that actually love me back. Are you Italian?
Beautiful! The autumn category is a bit generic (as are the other seasonal categories). Recommended colors are 96% wrong. White and black I recommend for bright or semi-bright chroma types. I can´t wear those two colors, either.
@@ellaraystyle will there ever be a broad overview for people who cannot afford to take your course? i understand it's proprietary, but you rely so heavily on it i'd love to know more

I had orange light hair as a girl, very light pink skin, dark blue eyes. Like irish. I dye my hair in a more subtle orange these days, i like that, 58 years now. Got several and very different advice over the years from color analysts. I have a feeling that no color suits me haha. So i just wear them all, accept for black, grey and white
I understand your frustration. In my experience, everyone has aligned colors across the entire color spectrum. Some color types have a more narrow color range than others. It may be that previous systems and analysts have not been able to find your best colors which does not mean they don´t exist. 🌺
I absolutely cannot wear stark white, or what most people see when they think of “white.” Ivory/cream is as light as I can possibly get as I’m warm-toned and my contrast is medium at best, and it needs to of course be yellow-based to match my skin.
I have a question: are there browns with an indigo root colour? A lot of the browns I have that I like on me definitely give off a purplish hue, but i cant really tell what sort of purple. I can't really imagine what an indigo based brown would look like 😅
the brown spectrum is from red to orange and from Magenta to True Raspberry in my system. There is no brown based on Indigo Blue because brown results from adding grey or black to a warm color. When you add grey or black to Indigo it is just a dark Indigo or Blue-Grey.
Can you explain why you separate hair color palettes from wardrobe pallettes in analysis? Wouldn't we be looking at it all tied in and working together?
I separate those because both require a different type of analysis to achieve the highest possible accuracy. They are cohesive, though, so that your wardrobe palette will always be in alignment with your Hair Color Palette and Makeup Palette. Does that answer your question?
thank you! I wish the same, but had a rude awakening when I tried wearing an all white outfit to the school ball back when I was young. It only worked because I added a deep turqouise colored blouse and because it was an evening setting which muted the white significantly. During day time, I look like a joke in white. But that´s ok, I have so many gorgeous colors that function as a substitute for white.
@ellaraystyle your coloring is just absolutely stunning!!! I bet a rich deep turquoise is fabulous on you! In January when I have more time, I'm going to join monthly and once and for all (!) Try to figure out my root color etc.
Thank you, I appreciate you! My green spectrum ends with True Green, anything closer to blue is dissonant and I would only wear it in evening settings if I have to. Looking forward to you joining the membership and finding your root skin color and best colors! 🎉
I am watching this again and feel like my coloring is somewhat similar...I have learned so much from you and your system and I can't wait to validate my thoughts!
So, basically, the message is that finding a real, clear, stark white is difficult. Well, yes, that's true; I am a bright winter; I should know. And when you find it, it is most likely a synthetic fabric. Yes, it is. And the woman in the video with an obviously warm undertone struggles with white, and beige is better for her. Yes again. However, these findings do not correspond with the title. And no, I did not see it all; it was way too long. Can anyone here please summarise into one sentence why 10 out of 10 people (including Winters) get color analysis wrong?
Because the majority of people operate in the seasonal color analysis, which is flawed and outdated. That´s why. It is not capable of analyzing 8 billion color types and it is not able to recommend the right colors because it doesn´t understand human coloring and color harmony. The rest of people doesn´t know anything about color analysis and thus will not know which colors suit them. It will at best be a trial and error type of learning curve that takes massive time and includes wasting money on pieces that are not aligned (not to mention the frustration that comes with it). The woman in the video has a Yellow Root Skin Color. All skin tones are warm (one of the flaws you learned from the seasonal analysis is the existence of undertones and the categorization of color types into seasons).
@@ellaraystyle I was typed as bright winter more than ten years ago, and it works perfectly for me. Personally, I prefer the name "cool contrast type" over the season, but it does not really matter. No system is able to analyze 8 billion individuals individually, but sorting them into groups helps. Wasting money on things that aren´t aligned was what I was doing before color analysis.
a scientific system is able to analyze even more than 8 billion - as many people as there are. This was the main goal when I developed the system to escape these boxes of the seasonal analysis because they are way to rigid for 99,9% of color types, are flawed, and exclusive. Of course, I will not be able to analyze them all in this lifetime by myself but that´s beyond the point and goal. I understand that not all people desire accuracy on that level or value their health so much they would want to surround themselves with healthy colors, foods, people, etc. Everybody is different and I respect that.
If you want to know your Root Skin Color, Sub Root Skin Color, your skin chroma, and depth, it would make sense to get the Chart. What about navy blue and wine red? It suits most skin tones as opposed to white.
Navy and wine red are not universal colors, either. A significant portion of color types can´t wear those two colors.

There is no brown based on Indigo Blue because brown results from adding grey or black to a warm color.
When you add grey or black to Indigo it is just a dark Indigo or Blue-Grey.
