The guy walking across the road is actually what they do. When I was in Vietnam, I waited for the green man to walk across the road, but cars/bikes/trucks never stopped. This little lady came along, put her hand up as if to say stop and just walked across the road, trucks/cars/bikes just kept driving while she walked across. It's normal for them, don't stop in the road because they will get confused, they are use to driving around people walking across the street. It's scary!
