Great videos . I thought this could also be used quantitatively because the height of each precipitin line is directly proportional to the amount of antigen added. if you use a few standards you can create a calibration curve to determine amount of the unknown . Would appreciate some clarification . Thanks !

But both are true statements are valid. The particles (molecules or ions) move due to their charges. However, how far they move from the starting point does depend on both the charge and molecular weight.
If a particle is positive then you would find is close to the negative electrode. In that respect, how far that particles travels depends on its weight, and therefore its ability to traverse the agar gel.
