hey Stephen, how you doing bro? So did you have to do any ECU Coding. I asked the question because you remove the cats can you do this upgrade without coding the ECU?
I want to get one of these AA midpipes for my M2c. Thank you for the video. I have seen some people put spacers underneath that brace so there is alittle exhaust room for the AA exhaust. Thanks for sharing!
This makes an unreal difference and I can imagine for your M2c as well! Amazing car there btw! AA says that about 99% of setups will be just fine with the stock brace, but WORST case scenario they make a brace with an angle in the middle to give a little more space. I set it all up, and then adjusted slightly a couple of days later to make sure clearances (top AND bottom) were good.
BMW DIY Guy awesome thank you! Are you still running this AA midpipe? I think I will just put some washers between the bolts and the brace just to get more clearance when I do mine.
@@Tacoexplorer Absolutely yes, and is a fresh installation. The difference is absolutely worth it. I will have a follow up video with sound differences and a before and after dyno run as well, posted soon.
BMW DIY Guy your DIY video inspired me to make my own video when I install my midpipe. Especially the sound differences. Keep the videos coming! I do all my own work in all my cars as well.
Thank you for this video, lots of good information. Only suggestion is, maybe it is how you sound normally but it felt like you were running out of air all the time.
Great video! So it looks like you don't move the catalytic converters from the stock midpipes to these ones, is that right? Will the car still pass emissions test with this midpipe?
well done, i run downpipes and im switching to midpipes, to avoid stupid check engine light. the car came with the downpipes and one of them is cracked anyways! (yaiks) thanks for the video
I havent had my hands on it yet personally, but certainly read great things about it. Gauging by the quality of this midpipe, I would expect it to be great!
@@odisan3362 No drone in the cabin, sounds amazing. For a distributor.. honestly dont know sorry. I would imagine you could buy from AA directly though shipping will be pricey I bet.
@@BMWDIYGuy I hope I don't need to harvest pipe, because i already have the Dinan muffler installed smh... On another note you didnt need spacers like the dinan midpipe suggests?
Video couldn’t be any more better
Thank you!
@@BMWDIYGuy had a big question. Is there a way to auto rev match in sports plus in a 2016 f80.
This grey M3 looks absolutely gorgeous
Love the chuckle when you do the AA cold start. Mine arrives this weekend.
Thank you.. and yeah.. it sounds really good!
What's the difference in loudness? Have you done any db measurings, readings?
I didn't take any readings but definitely louder. Not overwhelmingly loud, but noticeable
@@BMWDIYGuy Thank you!

So just the midpipe alone doesn't require coding. If you go catless, you will get s CEL for sure, so best to code that out.

Thanks for the tip!
Great video! So it looks like you don't move the catalytic converters from the stock midpipes to these ones, is that right? Will the car still pass emissions test with this midpipe?
Your primary cats are actually in the downpipes. I don't BELIEVE you will have issues with emissions changing the midpipe.
Great video. Thanks for this. I'll be installing my AA EL pipe in the next day or so.
Hint hint.. I might have one on the way for my F87!

Did you use gaskets for the connection between the midpipe and OEM downpipes? If so did the AA kit come with the gaskets?
It doesn't come with a gasket and you can reuse the previous.
what do you think of the autowerke equal length midpipe
I havent had my hands on it yet personally, but certainly read great things about it. Gauging by the quality of this midpipe, I would expect it to be great!
Well done sir! Another awesome video :)
Psyche that’s the wrong number, P.S Micheal’s so
Did u change the crank hub?
Absolutely yes and have a great video up on that actually, make sure to check it out! 8)
How do you think the car sounds now? Is it annoyingly loud?
I dont think so at all.. its lower and has more growl.
No drone ?
@@xdcdcd1 I dont believe so no.
So do you weld all the hangers back on?
No welding involved.. you swap the rubber hanger mounts and you are fine
No big deal, but I wanted to let you know that your link for the “Good Lighting” from Ryobi Tools doesn’t work.
Thanks, I will have to fix that! Really love that light.
Did this require any cutting? Thanks
Yes.. you will need to cut your existing midpipe just short of the exhaust. I cover that in the video.
How big is aa single midpipe ? 3” or 3.5 pipe ?
Its a 3.5
Hi, what was the muffler on this install ?
OEM stock muffler on that car.
How much louder is the mid pipe(flaps open) compared too flaps open on stock??
Great question.. maybe 25-50% louder but the note is different too. Its deeper and has more growl.
@@BMWDIYGuy thanks for the fast response! Is there any drone inside the cabine? And is there any distributor for the aa midpipe in germany?
