  • Keeway Motors has nailed the retro-modern design with this one. The Sixties 300i is a headturner and its unusually long bagger-like tail makes people want to stop and make many enquiries about it. While out testing or shooting we frequently got asked, who is it from, is it electric, how much power does it have, how fast does it go, and how much will it cost. We’ve tried to answer a bunch of these questions in this video- who is it for, what all can it do, what makes it special, and what are the arrears you’ve got to look out for.

    Please note: The suggested Keeway Sixties 0-60kmph and 0-80kmph timings at 3:17 seconds is regretfully incorrect. Here are the correct performance figures-
    0-40kmph - 2.56s
    0-60kmph - 4.56s
    0-80kmph - 7.63s
    0-100kmph - 12.61s

    I don't think I have seen Ishaan reviewing on zigwheels before, but he did it well. Thumbs up :)
    Coming back to the scooter, its a busy mix of too many designs that actually works. Also from the side, it looks like a quite a big scooter, well compared to the tiny Vespas atleast.
    What i don't really understand is the fuel filler on the foot board. While on a step thru scooter like Aerox, its still fine. but on a flat foot board scooter, one tends to use the err... usable luggage space and when they do, its a pain if you have to remove stuff, bend down to unscrew fuel filler cap (getting down from the scooter is easier in case of underseat tank). They could have made made a provision on the front apron or even front side of the seat near floorboard (where the luggage hook usually is) And with fuel filler down there, i assume you wont have a rubber mat which is a bummer for our dusty conditions. I wonder how well the fuel lid itself is made in the first place.
    The seat looks too soft, may be they should have used harder foam so that passenger are supported better, esp at the rear where the passengers tend to incline back due to seat being too soft.
    Also at 2.99 ex-showroom, it may not have many takers and sadly the whole anti-china sentiment some ppl have may hurt that even more.

    Finally a scooter that looks different but damn this is a bloody 300 CC? Keeway should launch a 125 cc version of this with the same design with improved suspension fine tuned as per Indian road conditions and it will sell like hot cake if they can get their service network sorted across the country.

    I was about to zero in in at this scooter, but having learnt that Honda is soon going to launch its Forza 350 which is even larger and more practical, I’ll wait for the launch of that scooter as well. Yes, both the scooters are from a different segment and have different body style. Whereas Sixties, as the name explains, is a retro scooter, Forza is a maxi scooter. But when spending around ₹3-3.5 lacs, one should look at all the options instead of sticking to just one.

      As we have both the Hornet 2.0 & RTR 200 in our home, i can tell you that Hornet is quicker than RTR in initial acceleration (0-60) as it's a light weight motorcycle than RTR. Hornet 2.0 has got an amazing initial pickup!! but the difference is minimal!!

      @@gajanan4850 Oh..could be..I had a RTR200 in the past and took a short test ride of Hornet 2.0 recently. I did feel Hornet is decently quick. I can't say if it was quicker than RTR 200 as I sold it back in 2019. Maybe if I ride them back to back, I can understand the difference. I was just saying considering the specs. If people will buy Keeway scooters in India, they'll definitely get sixties. No one would even bother to buy Vieste. According to India, a scooter should be practical (flat floorboard), so that all height, weight and genders could be accommodated and of course, for carrying groceries. Yet, I'm interested to see how India will respond to Keeway.

    • @rahulsrinivas7108
      @rahulsrinivas7108 2 года назад +1

      At nearly 3.6 lakhs OTR these scooters are definitely not targeted at the average Indian scooter buyer anyway. The lack of a flat footboard did not hamper the Aerox's popularity. Of course, the volumes will still be low given the prices.
