I recently rest rode the Vieste and my wife accompanied me for the same. Those who think the suspension on this one is hard, they must try out the Aerox or the SR 160. This one offers a much plusher ride. Seat comfort is better than both (from a pillions perspective), and it can munch miles at a steady 90kmph all day long. Plus, the heated grips are a great feature to have for long rides in winter. Is it a "proper" maxi scooter? Well, yes and no. Size wise it is similar to 125 and 150cc maxi scooters abroad. In those markets, the compactness of the Vieste is seen as an advantage (I have seen several European reviews) because the rest of the maxi scooters are larger, taller and heavier machines. The small size may put off buyers in India who thought this would be a "big" maxi. In reality, the Vieste is actually smaller in size than even the Aerox. Engine-wise, the power should have been more, but the relatively less weight (compared to larger maxi scooters) does work in its favor as per most European reviews I watched. Lastly, I have been waiting for a really long time for a maxi scooter to come to our shores, and even though this one is priced around 50k more than it should have been, I may still end up buying this one as no other machine suits my kind of usage. I am not that much into bikes and my wife feels comfortable on scooters. Looks like the perfect touring scooter for me right now!
@@itsgodzagain exactly. I was seriously considering the Aerox as an upgrade from my Aprilia SR 150 -- but the slanted seat and the hard suspension put me off. I would have still bought it and modded it a bit to make life easier for my pillion -- but this one looks like a much better bet - save for the pricing.
@@RahulSrinivas Honestly if you can source some Indonesian parts for the Aerox the sky is the limit with customisation. FYI I have a sxr160 too. I love it, it's riding posture is better but the refinement, fuel efficiency and the only scooter that actually pushed you when you accelerate is definitely THE aerox. Hands down brilliant and enjoyable to ride. Also, for the brief test ride I got on vieste the vibration on idle is just so much a stark difference to the Yamaha. Also, it has pretty good acceleration. Probably 30% more than aerox that's how much I felt as the speedometer was disconnected. Even though weight is 158 kg it didn't feel heavy at all.
