    In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
    Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

    Kicking the bottom out was pretty clever. Risky though. It's hard to tell sometimes how the taskmaster will make rulings. He could just as easily have said that the bin wasn't closed when the objects were thrown. This show really has a way of blurring the lines between madness and genius.

      From the card: "The peddle bin must be shut when you throw your thing." Since it didn't say the lid must be shut, there is a lot of room for interpretation by Greg. But "shut" does not necessarily mean "entirely enclosed."

    • @Lanthanideification
      @Lanthanideification 2 года назад +9

      Yes, that is the central conceit of the show: the tasks are usually written with enough room for interpretation to allow for imaginative solutions (I bet the creative team behind the show have lots of guesses for how contestants might do things that then never pan out), but with a twist in that the contestants still need to play it relatively straight in order to not be penalised by the taskmaster.

    Throw something into the bin. I wonder if light could work. A contestant would ask a crew member to hold a mirror angled in way that would deflect the laser light into the bin. Another member would open the bin to let the light in.
    They would turn the laser on and point at the mirror, but the mirror isn't angled correctly. It will only be angled correctly once the crew member opens the bin.
    The problem here is how they'll argue that they "threw" the light in. Seeing as light is an intangible object. Can you even "throw" light?
    But then again. The task was to throw a thing into the bin. They could argue that light is a thing. An intangible intangible thing but a thing nonetheless.

    I’m from New Zealand and I know there’s that joke of having a fish poster in the shed, but where did that joke start? I’ve only ever heard fish posters in sheds talked about on taskmaster and only found taskmaster related results when I googled it. I have never seen a fish poster in a shed, I have only ever seen them at the fish and chip shop.

      Rose Matafeo brought a fish poster as a prize task and said all good New Zealand sheds had a fish poster in them.

    • @rachelcookie321
      @rachelcookie321 2 года назад

      @@richardparker1490 why’d she say that? Because like I said before, when searched online I can’t find anything saying that and I’ve never seen a fish poster in anyone’s shed here.

      @@rachelcookie321 I can't remember if there was any criteria for the prize task other than it being in a shed (best/worst/craziest etc), but Rose probably looked in her shed, picked the poster that she happens to have in there, then came up with an explanation afterwards to make it fit the task.

    Why is my idea the bath on the roof, a little bit of water and a rope on the plug. Throw the ball up. Put bin next to gutter exit and open it. Pull rope so bath drains with ball through gutter into the bin

      but why?

    • @jamesaditya5254
      @jamesaditya5254 2 года назад +1

      if you throw something small enough to fit into the gutter, you could cut the bath altogether out of the schematics

  • @wojciechwilczynski5309
    @wojciechwilczynski5309 2 года назад

    So why didn't they just throw the ball and then pick it up and put it in the can?

    The Bin had to be closed when you threw the object... putting a hole in the bottom gives the bin a open hole in the bin.... key word open... it wasn't closed.
