At 3:23 when he drilled the hole I blew the phone screen like mfer lol.. trip’n.
Lmao.. bro I just watched it, what is you hearing lol.
Why do they put tape down? I've seen some do and some don't.
I put down tape to protect the panel from resine sticking and making a mess. Even know the panel will be covered it would just make more of a challenge to seat the new panel being made.
How many layers of fiberglass do I need to put?
I apply one one layer of chopped fiberglass to the outside and two on the inside.
I've just found your channel love the video answered many questions but only one how do you know you've got enough depth for the speaker
Thanks for subscribing. Depth was not my concern in this project, as I was only concerned with placement. Depth comes in when you have the clearance to do so. So where the 8" sat it had the original door cavities so I didn't have to cut any metal. I did have to bent some edges to clear some of the magnets, but the speakers where shallow enough for proper fitment. The door is your box, just needs to be dyno matted. And the panel is just a face for the box.
@@TheInkhousecustoms aaaahhhhh
Do you prefer plywood over MDF? What are the benefits?
Really it's not mdf is not available where I live. I still prefer plywood tho as it stronger and more water resistant, It's harder to work with tho. Now if I was building a sub box I would prefer mdf, it has more of a dampening factor to it where you would want a softer low tone.

Hey brother great work and giving me different ideas in how to set up the doors. What size of wood you usually use. 1/2 or 3/4 inch.
Thanks, I'm glad I can't spark some inspiration. I normally use 1/2" on pods and 3/4 on sub enclosures.
@@TheInkhousecustoms thanks.🙏
all good bro...but the only thing I didn't like it was that fact why you have your dog chain up to a pole ..
I have no fence where I live so, that is the only option. They occasionally get to run around for a few hours a day, so not locked down all the time. Thanks for the concern tho 🤙🏽
Hey how’d you combine the custom panel to the original at the end? Did you glue it?
No everything was a bolt on.
@@TheInkhousecustoms very impressive it took me 2 more watches to get a full understanding of the placement and how it held together
Now if your using this type of setup it's only for mid range speakers, and for a small system.. if your going competition, the panel will need attach to the frame of the door.
@@TheInkhousecustoms i’m going to be running 6 12s in my trunk but i’m gonna make custom door panels. Should i attach the panels to the door for this sized setup? and if so do you have a vid that shows how it’s done?
How did you get your fleece and original fiber glass piece to fuse together I’m just missing that part
@Jonathan Vardamaskos I used hot glue to bond it. It must be done on the leading edge, so it doesn't interfere with whet fiberglass resin bond.
So resin bond the new resin activates the old ressin?
Creating a bond?
No the surface of the old fiberglass needs to be sanded to get a mechanical bond with the new resin/ felt materials.
@@jonathanvardamaskos3638 yes, the glass frame was dry before all other work was done.
JUST FOUND YOUR CHANNEL, NEW SUB 💯 GOING THRU THE VIDEOS AND STEPPING ON THE LIKE BUTTON AS I DO
@Bigg Mississippi Steppa welcome to the Channel, I appreciate the sub and stay up with all new vids.. interact with some positive comments. And keep stepping on that like button 💯👍🏽🤙🏽
Good work
@Gerardo Gonzalez thanks
Hey bro what size wood you using?
On my mid range builds I go with 1/2
@TheInkhousecustoms thanks brother I will try that out on my next build
What size are those bolts and nuts you’re using?
It really doesn't matter what size, as long as they work. But I used 1" 1/4 bolts, nuts and washers.
Nice pannels any would you mind sharing what the cost of materials for this proyect runs??
@Ayala's Band prices will change from place to place, here on st.croix usvi. Fiberglass 2yd $35, felt 2yd $35, body filler $50 gl, glass resin $55 gl, wood $65, spot putty $25, primer $20 qt. $100 misc. So est. $360 just starting. If doing for jobs it's cost effective seeing you'll have materials left over for a next job, but for a single project it's costly. Glass work is labor intensive so the price for that depends on the size and difficulty of the job.
@@TheInkhousecustoms thanks for the info im not trying to run a business just want to do it a proyect old pickup. So you think i could get 2 pannels with like 300 in material?
If your state side for sure, you can do it for that price. You have places like hobby lobby and harbor freight.
@@TheInkhousecustoms hey my curren door pannels are old plastic and have some holes like 2 inches wide you think fiberglass will fix that. Thank you for taling the time to answer
Great job...What type of paint gun did you use in this video?
@TODD BUCHANAN Thanks man, the gun used is a Transtar hvlp 1.3.
@@TheInkhousecustoms I appreciate you replying to my question.
@TODD BUCHANAN Always answer questions I love the community I'm building, yall are my support when it comes to building this channel. I appreciate you 🤙🏽
What’s the names of the songs played bro.
Lol I know that music slap, I get my music from Epidemicsounds.com not to sure the name I download so much from them.
what kind of carpet or blanket do you use?
That is felt cloth, it's better to use fleece for this application. But I used what I had available.
@@TheInkhousecustoms Ok nice, thank you
🤙🏽
How long was the process?
@chris565612 it takes me about a 1-2 weeks to process, mostly depends on how much hours I put in on a day to day basis.
What tape is the silver tape?
It's aluminum tape: amzn.to/3UXv1FS
Jus curious was that inkscape you used and was it to scale? When ur adjusting the positions?
@Jason hernandez the program was photoshop, I just used it to get a idea for speaker placements. No need for it to be to scale.
I am thinking about doing somethign similar. Do you think the bottom speaker next to the seat is necessary or maybe even adversely affects the sound because its bouncing off the seat?
@Aviqq yes the seat will affect the sound while in the vehicle. But in the audio scene it doesn't matter, the louder the better. Hear in St. Croix virgin islands the audio guys tend to open the doors during comps so to them its more about capacity.🤷🏾
У колец такой вид, будто их топором вырезали😮
Thanks
How are you sir, I'm in the process of purchasing a 2015 Subaru outback limited, I would like to know if this is your business and if so, could you do my door panels with two six by nines and two tweeters in all four doors and two 8 inch subs in the back quarter panels
Yeah this is what I do, DM me on Instagram or Facebook @ Theinkhousecustoms or fb @theinkhouse340
Morning sir, I live in Newark Delaware,
