Worth noting that Sony had originally forecast PS5 sales of 25 million, which they reduced to 21 million, and still didn't meet (barely). They're still doing pretty well though.
I can't believe we are mid term for the PS5 already has time really gone that fast.
Sadly since the first two year most people couldn't buy PS5s, it feels like those years were kind of lost..

One thing you didn't say but showed that software sales are up by ~10% in 2023. Software being what they are trying to sell the most.
I feel Sony would have met or even exceeded their console target if only they had launched the slim at $450, while keeping the digital at $400.
They are definitely saving on production cost and the added sales would have offset the price drop.
Then the icing on the cake would be the launch of the PRO later this year at somwehere between $500 and $550.
I really dont think sales are gonna decline, we are about to reach the most exciting time of this generation. We're finally gonna start getting some true next gen games from naughty dog, bend studio, sucker punch, blue point, team asobi, in the next few years its crazy! All these studios have 4-5 years since their last game, they're super close to launching new games, and even better, most of them are doing new IP! Even Santa Monica has a new IP. And also, gta 6 is about to launch, people will absolutely buy ps5s just for that, its about to get crazy. Especially with the ps5 pro coming out soon too.

And finally PS5 sales already reached their peak in late 2022-2023 because they fixed the supply issue. The demand will obviously be lower now.
And now that the 2 CEO’s have been announced. We can expect a “reset” of the singleplayer winning strategy that we saw with Spiderman 1 up to Ghost of Tsushima, the peak of PS4’s life.

I have a gaming PC and yes fidelity and performance is far better but ease of use is nowhere near the same. Regular driver updates, bad ports, troubleshooting etc.
@@NIXNE I haven't been dealing with any of these "problems" your dealing with.. just boot up my pc and start playing games.. only game to give me trouble is COD with its shadder updates that take like 2 minutes if that..

Guys as a Sony fan I said it so many times....you all know Sony always sets their targets very very high...no they didn't hit the 21 million target BUT that doesn't mean it's very very great sales...in short...ps5 is always the healthiest greatest console...THE WINNER BABY!
I'm disappointed with the games, I don't like politics in my games, I pay way too much for new releases, in Mexico the standard version of a game is 81 dollars, if Sony continues implementing DEI bull than this will be the last Playstation for me, and I have had them all , I even had like 3 ps2's
Absolute rip xbox players sure we have gamepass but whats that gonna do theres no point in having gamepass at all since well we can actually buy these games and own them and yes ill admit i did have gamepass once but it was for $1 at the time but after that i decided to actually buy these games i played from gamepass and at the time they werw on sale too sooooo yeah if anything whats sad the only good xbox game that could've been a amazing exclusive was Hi-Fi rush but of course not only was the game a huge success and was completely difficult feom the usual boring gameplay type of games it was basically like halo all over again ever since the 1st xbox but now that isn't the case they r literally giving away like every single game to playstation and other devices like there is literally no point in having a xbox anymore the only good thing i will say about xbox is that it has backwards compatibility while play station doesn't but thats like it thats like the only good thing and thats sad at this point even i feel like moving away from xbox dispute i grew up with this console series...im sorry but xbox i have to let you go
