- We recently said goodbye to our Garmin inReach Mini. It worked well, but we sold it and recovered more money than this item cost. This item also does not require plan. With the iPhone 15 Pro Max having its own SOS feature now, it just made sense to go this route. Something to note, if you are in the process of upgrading to a new iPad, it may be cheaper to get it with the cellular capabilities (includes a GPS chip, wifi only does not). Depending on which model you pick, the cost difference may be identical to getting a device like this with a wifi only version. As noted in the video, this device worked perfectly for us when using our iPad with @onXOffroad .

If you have a tablet with built in GPS would you still buy this?
@@travelasia2023 no! It would not be needed. I only bought it because my existing iPad Pro did not come with one.
@@BirdDogOffRoadAdventures correct me if I'm wrong, but the Ipad only has cellular GPS where the Glo2 is real satellite. If you are out of cellular range, that Ipad will be useless.
