I use a co wash, a leave in conditioner, then I'll massage oil into my scalp, use a cream styler and sometimes a gel.

Co wash and conditioner you can get from the drugstore, for the first step use coconut oil (it's cheaper) and use a curl milk to hydrate + give hold. In the morning use a curl activator kind if product. It's much cheaper that way

Confession time. I stumbled onto your channel while watching videos on buying the correct kind of products to grow hair. The first video I watched was of you and Bianca shopping at Target. (great video btw!!) Watching that video put me on the path to embrace my curls. I have 2b hair but rarely wear it curly. I would blow dry it straight or flat iron it rather than wear it curly because I hate putting products in my hair. Haven't used gel or hairspray in over 3 years. Now I'm a recovering blow dryer and flat iron user. Yay! I massage my scalp almost every night (when I'm not feeling lazy) with oil, protect my hair when I go to sleep, wear it in braids during the day, and basically just baby the heck out of my hair now.. Been doing this for almost two weeks and I notice the difference. Thank you soooo much for helping me embrace the beauty God has given me and fall in love with my curly hair. Love this channel now! :)

yeah don't you think this too that putting all those so many products in hair is too much work and too much expense and it's just too much..hair can even feel producty rather than natural. :(

@@ananyasood960 For sure! I wrote that message at the beginning of my curly hair journey. Since then I've experimented with several different methods and products to get luscious curls. Some were great and others failed miserably. You have to find what works best for you, your hair type, and your level of commitment. I wear my hair in a messy bun 80% of the time bc sometimes it's just too much work. (Plus it's long & I work from home now) Hopefully this helps you as you find your way to falling in love with your curls. Happy Curl Journey! 😊

    1. Greek Yogurt mask with olive and coconut oil
    2 & 3 . Some Shea moisture
    4. Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Curls "Goddess Curl Gel" (shingle and scrunch)

Chloe Hi! You apply the yogurt mask weekly? I'm asking bc I'm in serious need of a protein treatment but not sure of how often I want to apply it. I feel condition for moisture weekly but don't do protein as often. I'm fearing protein overload!

I do it every time my hair feels rough or after ive straightened it:) I would recommend that you test of on a strand of your hair first in case youre protein sensitive. I'm not so its safe for me to do it every week or every two weeks

Something that I just started to do which helps is once it’s the 2nd or 3rd day of curly hair I put cold water in a spray bottle and then I put a little Gel inside the bottle (I use Cantu Shea butter Moisturizing twist & lock gel) shake it and just spray it and it’s as if you washed your hair that day. I have a lotttt of hair and it’s hard sometimes to deal with it but lucky this helps now. 😊

Ugh, really needed to watch this video. I switched to the CG method five years ago but STILL need to be reminded of what curls need to be happy. Just an FYI, I can't pineapple because my hair is wavy, fine and thinning. Instead, I use the medusa clipping method. Made a world of difference when I started clipping at night. Great video, Nurse Penny. :~))

Wack and Snooze what is the medusa clipping method? My hair is also fine and is only just above my shoulders in length so most of it falls out of pineapples. I’ve been struggling with how to preserve my curls at night for years! I’ll try anything

I used to just put in leave-in conditioner, then for a while just gel, but now I'm doing both leave-in conditioner and gel and it seems to be working well! It's also good to not rinse out all the conditioner in the shower so you really get the moisturizing benefits of the conditioner until your next wash - this is what they did when I got a DevaCut.
I struggle with frizz on the top of my head and near the back of my head so I'm really trying to moisturize more!~

After watching so many videos I think I found a routine that works for me. But, It still costs me to keep my hair looking nice after the 2 days mark. It doest matter how I sleep, it kinda leaves a dent, and my hair just makes big weird curls leaving gaps in my hair. I still don't know what refresher to use. I use more leave in conditioner (nor sure if that's okay but oh well) so if anybody got ideas of good refreshers that are easily available that would be great (since my local stores don't have all that fancy things mentioned). Thanks in advance to everyone! ❤

At first, i scrunched with a T shirt and then as the next few hours went by, i just used my hands. The best my hair has come out so far.

Thank you so much for this video! I have built a matrix, yes a matrix to map out curly hair products to use to give me a desired result for my curly hair. Finding healthy and safe curly hair products is an overwhelming process because there are so many products out there but thanks to you and your informative videos I have managed to narrow down my search. I have been following your youtube videos for a few years now because we have the same type of hair so what works for you should more or less work for me I hope. I'm actually just getting into the whole curly girl method and doing extensive research before I decide which products to invest in. Thanks to you I will definitely be checking out those products you have listed here :)

I use equate beauty argan oil shampoo and conditioner and mark Anthony strictly curls curl cream. ( i didn’t notice any sulfates in it but if anyone sees anything I missed I wouldn’t mind having it pointed out to me lol) but I bleached my hair about a month and a half ago and my hairs repairing nicely :)

Can you make a video on what to look for when buying styling products?

After you deep condition do you shampoo? Like before showering I deep conditioned (on day 3-4 hair) so after I wash out the deep conditioner can I go in with a shampoo.
I used the cantu shea butter deep treatment masque for natural hair
The shampoo and conditioner I use are the ones from the Shea Moisture coconut & hibiscus line. My styling products are from the same line- it is the curl enhancing smoothie and the curling gel souffle.

Please do a tutorial on using cucumber water as a refresher on non wash hair days. My hair is prone to frizz, despite using a satin pillowcase.

I find it interesting you say deep conditioner is a prepoo, where as Melt into Moisture (I'm pretty sure??) has instructions to use it after you cleanse. I find I have issues with dandruff so next time I wash, I'm definitely going to try it as a prepoo!

Got a routine, but not the products... So I guess I don't have a routine...
I don't pre-poo because of dandruff, although I am waiting patiently on my Sheamoisture anti-dandruff to see if a miracle is about to happen...

GELIFISH ATTACK in case you were wondering, I feel a bit less itchy and with less flakes on day 2. Although, I lost more hair than usual with the shampoo and my hair needed badly deep conditionning.

My hair is naturally wavy and I neither scrunch nor diffuse. Instead I put my hair in four braids and wear it all day and/or all night. Then the next day I take them out and it's 🔥🔥🔥 So you can always use hair curlers, a twisting method, or braids after you put your styling products in. Also, pre-poo isn't necessary for everyone, and styling products aren't always necessary either.
