For the most part, the characters act in character (even though the Marvel characters were clearly MCU influenced) at least as far as these cutscenes go. I'm surprised this game had the guts to give X a critical role. Whereas the other vs games had excuse plots, this at least had one that if you ignore the power-scaling (a necessity for vs games), makes sense. The only dynamic I really didn't like was the Morrigan/Jedah interaction, simply because I don't see her being the one who would try to get him to listen to reason. I guess the needed someone to fill that role, though, and I'm glad to see Jedah at ALL.

If you also account for the various mandates those making this game had to go by, I'm surprised they came up with something coherent. Given that this game threw both Mega Man X and Darkstalkers more bones than either franchises got in a while, I can't hate it. Are there points that could have been done better? Yeah. But it's good as it is for a fanservicey story, and better than anything than I could come up with.

@@soundwave590 Ebony and Ivory only have infinite ammo because Capcom has stated years ago that Dante doesn't actually use bullets, he just uses bits of his demonic power as charged shots and that's why he never has to reload even in dmc games. Logically rocket would have to reload since Neil Goldstein (the woman who designed the guns) just made a sturdier pair of M1911's since Dante kept breaking them and rocket doesn't have demonic power. Td;lr Regular guns = reload logically. Dante doesn't reload because he doesn't use real bullets.
It's really interesting that of all the Marvel heroes, Iron Man is the ONLY character they always seem to make sound like RDJ. Cap never sounds like Chris Evans, Thor doesn't sound like Hemsworth, Hawkeye, Rocket, etc. This makes it very hard to introduce a new actor to take over the Iron Man role.
X just became god for about 20 seconds. Infinity buster? Seems like he couldn't control the stones by himself, but to see him bust out that ultimate armor. Just wow. X became a main character. Capcom actually gave a shit, and you know what? That made me very happy.

Gotta admit, while the graphics are the worst of all 2017. It's really fun to see an actual story in MVC and seeing all the characters interacting with one another.
Storyline in a nutshell: -Norse God gets infected -demon chick wants to get boned by a literal bone guy -Mistress Death traded a purple guy for another purple guy -demon hunter smokes demon ruler -demon hunter and his super saiyan girlfriend tag team

Ngl, as mediocre this story mode was, I kinda like the merged places, such as Wakanda + Val Habar (Monster Hunter), Dark Dimension + Makai Kingdom (Darkstalkers), Knowhere + Third Moon (Strider), it's actually really cool and I wish Smash Ultimate would do the same thing...
I kind of like how for once they made a crossover story universe that doesn’t end in each universe going back to normal. In story writing actions have consequences, and the permanent merge of Marvel and Capcom is a good permanent consequence of this storyline.
I mean, hasn't the merging of Marvel and Capcom's universes been ALREADY done? Between MvC2 and U/MvC3, I'm surprised that this wasn't emphasized until Infinite. As for U/MvC3, we need not but to look to the Heroes and Heralds mode. Basically Galactus is gonna eat both Marvel and Capcom's worlds, a few villains (e.g. Wesker, Doom) take Galactus' side, while the heroes have to fight off the Heralds and defeat Galactus. Most of the story is explained in the endings. Albeit non-canon, and mostly shunned off for jokes.

33:39 I have to admit, Ghostrider and Morrigan moment was an underrated experience. Even though, I thought the idea that Marvel Vs. Capcom having a story mode was brilliant but the story felt lopsided to me, I did enjoy their moment together. I was dead to the fact that Morrigan literally fought Ghostrider by trying to take the 🍆 by force 😂😂. Like I said, the story mode was entertaining, I love the chemistry of both Marvel and Capcom being together like Dante alongside Ironman, Hulk and Ryu, Chun Li and Captain America, Rocket and Megaman, it was cool. Seeing all the heroes together from both universes united almost made me wish that we had a "Ultimate Alliance featuring Capcom" game🔥🔥 However, it did kinda defeat the whole concept of them fighting, if anything it should have been titled "Marvel & Capcom" instead. Also, this game was flopped by having symbiotes in the story but no Venom. Also, you can't have a MVC game with no Wolverine or Xmen characters period. No Deadpool was robbery too, I would have loved his humor alongside Dante and Ironman 💯

Anime Big Boi well... I wouldn't say that. It's basic crossover stuff, and Subspace Emissary didn't create that. But I mean that the writing style is pretty different, even if the structure is kinda similar, so that style wouldn't really work here in my opinion.

It just came out in probably the worst time. When it released it was still kinda trendy to make fun of Capcom for their previews flops, and the fact that Disney and fox interfered with the game's roster didn't helped either. Also the MCU craze was in an all time high after the release of Civil War, which made the game's story mode feel underwhelming to fans in comparison. All of those led to a quite disastrous release

Everything about this game is unusual. The voice cast, cast of playable characters, etc. It blows my mind thinking about it! We may feel timid about this at first, but we will get over it as time goes by.
Kingdom Hearts was also unusual, but this beats any of the Kingdom Hearts games any day. At least this isn't aimed for audiences ages eight and under like Kingdom Hearts. Now, if I want a GOOD Kingdom Hearts game, they ought to have Marvel characters involved in a crossover, particularly with Disney owning Marvel. Honestly, in my opinion, this is the closest thing to a Kingdom Hearts Marvel crossover game. Even some of the Capcom characters look like Final Fantasy characters. Just look at Monster Hunter, Dante, and Chun Li. It takes little imagination, with their designs, to imagine them as Final Fantasy characters.
I'm so happy Mega Man is back, even if it's just X. Plus, I love the way X and Zero are designed. You can easily see that they are clearly not human and they stand out against the taller characters. I also cooked up a couple of scenes that take place after the events of the game that involves Axl, Douglas, and the various animal-based Maverick Hunters. Axl and Douglas wander into Avengers Tower looking for X and Zero only to be caught by Dr.Strange who mistakes them for trespassers. When the two Reploids are brought in front of Captain America for questioning, X and Zero recognize them as their comrades and persuade the Sorcerer Supreme to let them go. The two Maverick Hunter members are then introduced to the Avengers and their allies. As time ticks by in the merged world, the Avengers, Guardians, and the various Capcom heroes begin finding the badly damaged bodies of the various animal-based Maverick Hunters (Magna Centipede, Morph Moth, Cyber Peacock, Flame Stag, Chill Penguin, etc.) while they're out doing patrols.
Looking back on this, I’m glad we got Megaman X got introduced here since he fits pretty well character wise. The story mode was such waisted potential in the gameplay. Cause I very much loved the story

In story writing actions have consequences, and the permanent merge of Marvel and Capcom is a good permanent consequence of this storyline.
I mean, hasn't the merging of Marvel and Capcom's universes been ALREADY done? Between MvC2 and U/MvC3, I'm surprised that this wasn't emphasized until Infinite. Unless there's some multiverse shenanigans a la Project X Zone going on behind the scenes, and this is the one universe where the damage done is completely irreversible?

As for U/MvC3, we need not but to look to the Heroes and Heralds mode. Basically Galactus is gonna eat both Marvel and Capcom's worlds, a few villains (e.g. Wesker, Doom) take Galactus' side, while the heroes have to fight off the Heralds and defeat Galactus. Most of the story is explained in the endings. Albeit non-canon, and mostly shunned off for jokes.

Pushing it to Capcom when they had no plans to work on it, rushed it to promote Avengers Infinity War, Restricted the roster and forced only MCU characters into the game. Not saying Capcom aren't guilty of this.... rather weak instalment of the series, but when you're rushed by another company then you'd expect a weak outcome.

But with Nova while he himself isn’t in the MCU the Nova Corps has been involved in the First Guardians of the Galaxy and had a big role, but fine I’ll say that’s a bit of a stretch and give you Nova and Venom. But let me point this out: that’s only *two* characters out of *nineteen* that *AREN’T MCU CHARACTERS* and your conveniently leaving out the fact that Venom was DLC, meaning that you had to pay for him! Meaning that without DLC, Nove is the *ONLY* NON-MCU CHARACTER. How doe you not see the problem?!

Capcom having a story mode was brilliant but the story felt lopsided to me, I did enjoy their moment together. Seeing all the heroes together from both universes united almost made me wish that we had a "Ultimate Alliance featuring Capcom" game🔥🔥
However, it did kinda defeat the whole concept of them fighting, if anything it should have been titled "Marvel & Capcom" instead. Also, this game was flopped by having symbiotes in the story but no Venom. Also, you can't have a MVC game with no Wolverine or Xmen characters period. No Deadpool was robbery too, I would have loved his humor alongside Dante and Ironman 💯

It just came out in probably the worst time.
When it released it was still kinda trendy to make fun of Capcom for their previews flops, and the fact that Disney and fox interfered with the game's roster didn't helped either. Also the MCU craze was in an all time high after the release of Civil War, which made the game's story mode feel underwhelming to fans in comparison.
All of those led to a quite disastrous release

Everything about this game is unusual. The voice cast, cast of playable characters, etc. It blows my mind thinking about it! We may feel timid about this at first, but we will get over it as time goes by.

Kingdom Hearts was also unusual, but this beats any of the Kingdom Hearts games any day. At least this isn't aimed for audiences ages eight and under like Kingdom Hearts. Now, if I want a GOOD Kingdom Hearts game, they ought to have Marvel characters involved in a crossover, particularly with Disney owning Marvel. Honestly, in my opinion, this is the closest thing to a Kingdom Hearts Marvel crossover game. Even some of the Capcom characters look like Final Fantasy characters. Just look at Monster Hunter, Dante, and Chun Li. It takes little imagination, with their designs, to imagine them as Final Fantasy characters.
Watching stuff like this is oddly fun and relaxing

I'm so happy Mega Man is back, even if it's just X. Plus, I love the way X and Zero are designed. You can easily see that they are clearly not human and they stand out against the taller characters. I also cooked up a couple of scenes that take place after the events of the game that involves Axl, Douglas, and the various animal-based Maverick Hunters. Axl and Douglas wander into Avengers Tower looking for X and Zero only to be caught by Dr.Strange who mistakes them for trespassers. When the two Reploids are brought in front of Captain America for questioning, X and Zero recognize them as their comrades and persuade the Sorcerer Supreme to let them go. The two Maverick Hunter members are then introduced to the Avengers and their allies. As time ticks by in the merged world, the Avengers, Guardians, and the various Capcom heroes begin finding the badly damaged bodies of the various animal-based Maverick Hunters (Magna Centipede, Morph Moth, Cyber Peacock, Flame Stag, Chill Penguin, etc.) while they're out doing patrols.
