I love that this game is more for the comic book fans, then the MCU fans. the designs, characters, references,and hell even some of the voice actors are from comics and 90's-2000's cartoons, man this game is such a love letter to fans.
The cutscenes from this game are the only thing that's made me happy as a comic fan in years but why why WHY!? Does it have to be a card game?! Literally anything would have been better

Overall I'm happy with the writing in this, wasn't expecting a game like this to have this much love and effor put into it. It's a breath of fresh air to see this.

This game does Eddie so well. His relationship with Spider-Man is pitch perfect and he’s a pretty likeable guy. I like his voice actor a lot. His design is also pretty cool. It doesn’t stray that far from the classic Venom design which is good. Venom is a funny character especially when interacting with Mephisto. There is an air of sadness in the character when he’s in the church. Spider-Man helps him overcome his self doubt and the two work as a unit to fight Dracula.
Spider-Man (or his daughter Mayday, depending on the timeline) are always the only one who stands up to Mephisto during the invasion of the Earth after the other heros fall
Seeing Spidey and Venom becoming reminds me that Spiderman 1994 tv series from Season 3 in that episode called “Carnage”. If you haven’t seen that episode, then stop and go watch it.🕸️

I think some events from the comics didn’t happen. Tony mentions that he could launch the hulk into space as if he’s never done it before. So that means the Sakaar and World War Hulk incident never happened.
Blade was in 1st DLC with Deadpool. Since Venom is coming to Midnight Suns team, it has to be with Spider-Man, considering they're both connected from comics, wouldn't make sense with Blade. Whole Season Pass thing with 4 characters coming, I'm assuming it only has one storyline and it has to do with Vaympyre one, not everything surrounds around Blade though.
No other piece of official media would have the crotches to reference One More Day. As soon as I saw that scene with Spider-Man & Mephisto alone. I knew what they were doing. And I found it hilarious.
I don't get why they always have Venom being monster size these days, in the comics he's usually the Hulk size as a professional wrestler due to Eddie Brock being jacked himself.

For eddie, he is not hate parker just like before, he even want to be a good with peter. But for venom, depending on venom mood.

It is but it isn't. Animations are so clean it blurs the line between card and action game
When it's on sale I highly recommend it. Also while cards are how you make plays I would says it's more inline with a TRPG like Fire Emblem
