I find it very cool that the historical animosity between Venom and Spider-Man is preserved in both Peter and Miles' relationship with Venom. Peter has the same relationship with Venom here as in Ultimate Spider-Man, but the boiling hatred and spitefulness that Venom has for Miles reminds me a lot of how the 616 Venom felt about Peter. Both styles of the character are on display here.

I do agree we need more of them interacting, but think back to the Peter/Eddie relationship: Peter did nothing but get in Eddie's way a few times doing the right thing, so Eddie goes out of his way as Venom to ruin his life. It's the same relationship.

That’s another thing I dislike. They made venom too powerful. He was never a citywide threat on his own. Be was a threat to Peter, his close ones, and that’s it. The whole king in black series this is based off was the culmination of so many symbiot stories, carnage starting a cult, and a symbiote god coming to earth. If any Joe Schmoe symbiote can do this, carnage is gonna have to be ridiculous or a power downgrade from venom

i'm sorry, i've never liked lethal protector venom. I loved evil, yet sophisticated juggernaut venom. And that is what we got, and it was PERFECT. He stole the show in every single scene he was in, and the whole mission where he basically took over as the main villian of the game was one of the best levels in gaming in my honest opinion. Absolute PEAK. They did one of my favorite characters justice.

All the advertising shows the Spider-Men battling Venom in the city, and yet the devs chose to lock the battle into a bunch of small arenas. Also, making Miles the last one to battle Venom was a mistake because those two didn't have any emotional stakes or history.
Your second point is flat out wrong. There was emotional stakes and history. Both the symbiote and Harry share a certain dislike of Miles. Because Miles was the one who was able to free Peter from that black suit. And Harry feels in his subconscious that Peter replaced him with Miles as a best friend. Also this is an extremely tough fight for Miles and it puts his abilities to the ultimate test

They definitely did a great job with Venom here. It's a very nice change of pace from the very tiresome anti-hero gimmick they've been doing for decades now. While yes, is that like changing Spider-Man's sense of justice because it's tiresome? Well no. You see, the reason there are so many Spider-Men is because we can get various different morals, and personalities personalized for every fan. It's this reason why making Venom similar to the Symbiote god Knull was an excellent idea not only because it's very different, and really shows you the raw negative energy the Symbiote provides. But it's a great excuse to have Venom be more so a very video gamey boss archetype. Now does this have to be your favorite Venom? Of course not! But feeling slighted because the host isn't Eddie, and has the exact same personality as Eddie is really unfair, and caked absolutely in Personal Biases. What they wanted to do with Harry/Venom was to show how someone's ambition can lead towards self destruction. Harry's drive to heal the world passed down by his deceased mom not only makes him have purpose, but burdens him. But after the entire facility is destroyed, and because of his friend he's dying. Of course he feels hopeless, and slighted. Especially after it's destroyed he tries to find solitude with something to do positively in the world. So he contacts Miles who completely disregards him, and his struggles due to Miles being caught up in his very own issues. It's this reason why Venom is born. Venom is born out of a shared hatred for the actions of Peter/Spider-Man. But what's important is that Harry, despite his anger, truly wants to succeed with his friends. However Venom twists this into something malicious and tries to turn Peter against Miles, as he feels Miles was nothing more than a roadblock towards his mother's goals. And this is why Venom forcefully turns MJ into scream. Yes is the story. Yes. And could they have done with more scenes of Venom? All of us can definitely agree. But at the end of the day is this better than the first narratively? No. But this is a B tier Spider-Man story and is much more enjoyable than most. Hence why objectively besides audience reactions being positive across the board. I think yes Insomniac crafted a pretty cool iteration of Venom that many have longed for, or wanted something a bit different.

One thing that bugs me is Venom has no reason to call himself (Venom) in universe. There is no hatred towards Peter in this so he has no reason to be a poison to Spider-Man. So it makes no sense but most things in this game make no sense when you stop to use your brain. It's just done for fun which is ok but good writing is what would have made this game GOTY.

This version of Venom is weak only to high frequency sounds, things like fire doesn't damage him (the creative director of the game said that the team didn't found a good way to introduce Venom's weakness to fire so they decided to cut that out)

They definitely did a great job with Venom here. It's a very nice change of pace from the very tiresome anti-hero gimmick they've been doing for decades now. While yes, is that like changing Spider-Man's sense of justice because it's tiresome? Well no.
You see, the reason there are so many Spider-Men is because we can get various different morals, and personalities personalized for every fan. It's this reason why making Venom similar to the Symbiote god Knull was an excellent idea not only because it's very different, and really shows you the raw negative energy the Symbiote provides. But it's a great excuse to have Venom be more so a very video gamey boss archetype.
Now does this have to be your favorite Venom? Of course not! But feeling slighted because the host isn't Eddie, and has the exact same personality as Eddie is really unfair, and caked absolutely in Personal Biases. What they wanted to do with Harry/Venom was to show how someone's ambition can lead towards self destruction. Harry's drive to heal the world passed down by his deceased mom not only makes him have purpose, but burdens him. But after the entire facility is destroyed, and because of his friend he's dying. Of course he feels hopeless, and slighted. Especially after it's destroyed he tries to find solitude with something to do positively in the world. So he contacts Miles who completely disregards him, and his struggles due to Miles being caught up in his very own issues.
It's this reason why Venom is born. Venom is born out of a shared hatred for the actions of Peter/Spider-Man. But what's important is that Harry, despite his anger, truly wants to succeed with his friends. However Venom twists this into something malicious and tries to turn Peter against Miles, as he feels Miles was nothing more than a roadblock towards his mother's goals. And this is why Venom forcefully turns MJ into scream.
Yes is the story. Yes. And could they have done with more scenes of Venom? All of us can definitely agree. But at the end of the day is this better than the first narratively? No. But this is a B tier Spider-Man story and is much more enjoyable than most. Hence why objectively besides audience reactions being positive across the board. I think yes Insomniac crafted a pretty cool iteration of Venom that many have longed for, or wanted something a bit different.
Finally someone actually understands venom character unlike these whining purists

This and the venom movies are the only mainstream modern adaptations of venom, but the movies are already treated like trash, so this is basically the main venom for general audiences, so to have a character completely different from the comic venom we’ve all grown to love is kinda sad. He is nothing, nothing like the comic version. Not even in like a “he isn’t Eddie Brock” sense, I mean that he doesn’t even hate Peter in this game.

What are you saying? Apart from the comics the only media that potrayed Venom as an Anti hero were the 90s Spider-man the animated series, the PS1 game and the two Venom movies. And besides in the comics Venom has been an anti hero way longer than a villain

One thing that bugs me is Venom has no reason to call himself (Venom) in universe. There is no hatred towards Peter in this so he has no reason to be a poison to Spider-Man. So it makes no sense but most things in this game make no sense when you stop to use your brain. It's just done for fun which is ok but good writing is what would have made this game GOTY.
If I remember the symbiot was codenamed by Osborne and Connors as "subject V-N-M 252" hence it refer to itself as Venom

This version of Venom is weak only to high frequency sounds, things like fire doesn't damage him (the creative director of the game said that the team didn't found a good way to introduce Venom's weakness to fire so they decided to cut that out)

Sheesh y'all are pissed. I've read the comics too but this is cool. Plus he was on Harry not Eddie. Only other time I've seen this is on USM. Yeah we got evil Venom but that doesn't mean on the future we won't see and Anti-Hero Venom. Especially since I heard we get Carnage in the next game and Venom is totally against him.
