Dude, the Venom’s first appearence is a masterpiece. Peter recognizes what he became and refuses evil at the top of the tower searching for redemption, while Eddie, in the bottom can’t see the trash he actually is and asks God to kill his enemy. The music and the screaming gives a true horror feeling to Venom’s creation. Raimi didn’t want to use Venom in this movie, but he certainlly did an awesome job.
Toby Maguires spiderman has taught me more morals and lessons than other hero films than most obvious ones. Forgiving people, recognizing how bad you be and hurt others without knowing and much more. I love this trilogy .👍
Spiderman now a day is kinda full of circus, too much comedy even the villain like a clown. Im seeing no way home lately and mcu making the villain even worst. And every second always making jokes, the timing is so bad. Making me cringe bruh. Thats why i love the classic trilogy, the timing when you are serious and when you are being funny its perfect.

I love how in this universe, the suit doesn't try going back to Peter. That part of the comics never made sense to me: if Peter keeps rejecting Venom, then wouldn't it rather have revenge on him than try to take him over again and again, especially since there are others who would gladly except it.

You can't expect Venom (coming from space) looking like a human suit with a horror face, just cause you are familiar with him on both characters. It makes more sense to have another shape than your regular friendly neighbourhood Spider-man suit.
The cgi was honestly amazing for this time. I know its easier to animate a full suit and not a face but even at 3:35 in the freefall scene when u briefly see Tobeys face its not that bad.
Recently I saw all the fan-made versions of the original ending of this movie; about Venom and how the symbiote killed him, consuming him until the bones. In recent years I have been thinking this movie had get old really bad, being worse than the first and second part of the trilogy. But now it’s different. I have not seen the movie in a while, but due to this video now I think this interpretation of Venom from Sam Raimi is quite interesting and unique: We see this creature as a demon, as a monster which feeds of hate and the darkness. The Venom from Tom Hardy’s movies is fisically more accurate to what a fan wants to see of this character on the big screen, but the conception of the character, I think, is more like a monster puppy who wants to eat brains and suddenly gets a friend in Eddie Brock. It’s not bad, the second Venom movie is really funny, but what I’m trying to say is that maybe all (or most of) the fans were so cruel with this version of Venom due to two things: the size and design of its (him?) body and the “bully maguire” moments. Now, sixteen years after this movie was released I miss this kind of interpretations from characters like this, being imagined by a horror director, even when he has said that he didn’t understand and liked this character, he did a really great job. The sounds of this Venom are really scary and real, and acts more like a savage animal and a monster, and not as… Idk… an alien scooby doo monster. Definitely I want to see this movie after all this years, and hopefully one day we may see the Raimi’s cut. It is enjoyable to see this Venom as an adult and, for me, it also was as a child.

All in all, this Venom is incredible. The bad thing is Eddie. If Eddie's character had been better or if he had simply not appeared again until his skeleton was removed from the symbiote (as originally planned), we would have had possibly the best cinematic Venom.
I know some would prefer the new venom over this one. But my opinion is that the 2007 is better for the soul purpose of telling a better story. In 2007, CGI was evolving and directors and designers were trying to get a handle over it to enhance their own films. What must be understood from Director Nolan is that the use practical affects and attention to detail was coming to an end for movies, because it’s expensive and time consuming, whereas CGI is less costly. Director Raimi, as most horror film artists are, LOVE WITH ALL PASSION, to have a sense of realism in their work. To have the sets and actors seem real, to be able to imagine yourself there, or even believe that it could be real(for horror sake). He had MANY, artists. An army of artists trying to create the perfect venom for the film. And the question was, How was this character going to be(not only brought to life but) integrated into the film as realistic as possible(without having to look like a cgi npc bot). Just like photoshop, with the new found potential found in cgi, he was able to combine practical affects with it, to create something extraordinary. This venom may seem animalistic(even alien sometimes) but just like the Bat Man trilogy, taking an already existing idea and giving it a twist gives the audience a fresh perspective from what they already know. CGI today makes things seem unrealistic if over done, but with the right techniques, a film could have awesome scenes. It’s all about telling an immersive story. You may just want laughs and action, but for a film like this(Sony forced Raimi), this movie was sadly under lots of compromises. The designs and the story were great, but at a cost.
I liked Topher Grace as Eddie and this Venom much better than new version. Hope with the coming of Multiverse in MCU they will again introduce his Venom and Eddie.

It's 15 years since this movie was released in the US... Though it was released in Asia earlier. The scene where the symbiote is being removed from Peter and quickly finds a new host in Eddie is rather symbolic. The symbiote wanted to be part of Peter and tried to corrupt him further, but Peter realized what he was becoming, and removed the symbiotic suit from him. The moment a piece of the symbiote attached to Eddie, the rest of the symbiote quickly attached to him, having sensed his hatred towards Peter for costing him his job and "his girl". Eddie had no qualms sharing the same hatred with the symbiote, while also inheriting all of Peter's memories and abilities. Peter had to clear his mind after separating himself from the symbiote. He later saw Eddie in his monstrous form, and felt responsible for his downfall. So he decided to do what's right by weakening the symbiote with the steel pipes and save Eddie from it. Yet Eddie was still feeling the after effects of the bonding, and attempted to re-bond with the symbiote... A fatal mistake which led to his demise along with the symbiote. Having seen what Eddie had become, Peter learnt that his Aunt May was right: he needed to forgive himself and also forgive others, to release all resentment and bitterness. So that's exactly what he did when Flint Marko explained what happened on that fateful night. Peter was also able to mend his friendship with Harry, and work out his tumultuous relationship with Mary Jane. Spider-Man 3 may not be perfect, but the theme of forgiveness and bitterness are shown rather prominently in the third act.

You can't expect Venom (coming from space) looking like a human suit with a horror face, just cause you are familiar with him on both characters. It makes more sense to have another shape than your regular friendly neighbourhood Spider-man suit.

Recently I saw all the fan-made versions of the original ending of this movie; about Venom and how the symbiote killed him, consuming him until the bones. In recent years I have been thinking this movie had get old really bad, being worse than the first and second part of the trilogy. But now it’s different.
I have not seen the movie in a while, but due to this video now I think this interpretation of Venom from Sam Raimi is quite interesting and unique: We see this creature as a demon, as a monster which feeds of hate and the darkness.
The Venom from Tom Hardy’s movies is fisically more accurate to what a fan wants to see of this character on the big screen, but the conception of the character, I think, is more like a monster puppy who wants to eat brains and suddenly gets a friend in Eddie Brock. It’s not bad, the second Venom movie is really funny, but what I’m trying to say is that maybe all (or most of) the fans were so cruel with this version of Venom due to two things: the size and design of its (him?) body and the “bully maguire” moments.
Now, sixteen years after this movie was released I miss this kind of interpretations from characters like this, being imagined by a horror director, even when he has said that he didn’t understand and liked this character, he did a really great job.
The sounds of this Venom are really scary and real, and acts more like a savage animal and a monster, and not as… Idk… an alien scooby doo monster.
Definitely I want to see this movie after all this years, and hopefully one day we may see the Raimi’s cut. It is enjoyable to see this Venom as an adult and, for me, it also was as a child.

yes I still like the physics on this Venom better. Especially, when Tobey was taking it off. It really felt attached, even forming hands making it more scarier. I see that it grows in size with all the anger it fed off of Tobey and Topher. That’s probably why Tobey looked at it the way he did.

If Eddie's character had been better or if he had simply not appeared again until his skeleton was removed from the symbiote (as originally planned), we would have had possibly the best cinematic Venom.

I know some would prefer the new venom over this one. But my opinion is that the 2007 is better for the soul purpose of telling a better story.
In 2007, CGI was evolving and directors and designers were trying to get a handle over it to enhance their own films.
What must be understood from Director Nolan is that the use practical affects and attention to detail was coming to an end for movies, because it’s expensive and time consuming, whereas CGI is less costly.
Director Raimi, as most horror film artists are, LOVE WITH ALL PASSION, to have a sense of realism in their work. To have the sets and actors seem real, to be able to imagine yourself there, or even believe that it could be real(for horror sake).
He had MANY, artists. An army of artists trying to create the perfect venom for the film. And the question was, How was this character going to be(not only brought to life but) integrated into the film as realistic as possible(without having to look like a cgi npc bot).
Just like photoshop, with the new found potential found in cgi, he was able to combine practical affects with it, to create something extraordinary.
This venom may seem animalistic(even alien sometimes) but just like the Bat Man trilogy, taking an already existing idea and giving it a twist gives the audience a fresh perspective from what they already know.
CGI today makes things seem unrealistic if over done, but with the right techniques, a film could have awesome scenes.
It’s all about telling an immersive story.
You may just want laughs and action, but for a film like this(Sony forced Raimi), this movie was sadly under lots of compromises.
The designs and the story were great, but at a cost.

It's 15 years since this movie was released in the US... Though it was released in Asia earlier.
The scene where the symbiote is being removed from Peter and quickly finds a new host in Eddie is rather symbolic.
The symbiote wanted to be part of Peter and tried to corrupt him further, but Peter realized what he was becoming, and removed the symbiotic suit from him. The moment a piece of the symbiote attached to Eddie, the rest of the symbiote quickly attached to him, having sensed his hatred towards Peter for costing him his job and "his girl". Eddie had no qualms sharing the same hatred with the symbiote, while also inheriting all of Peter's memories and abilities.
Peter had to clear his mind after separating himself from the symbiote. He later saw Eddie in his monstrous form, and felt responsible for his downfall. So he decided to do what's right by weakening the symbiote with the steel pipes and save Eddie from it. Yet Eddie was still feeling the after effects of the bonding, and attempted to re-bond with the symbiote... A fatal mistake which led to his demise along with the symbiote.
Having seen what Eddie had become, Peter learnt that his Aunt May was right: he needed to forgive himself and also forgive others, to release all resentment and bitterness. So that's exactly what he did when Flint Marko explained what happened on that fateful night. Peter was also able to mend his friendship with Harry, and work out his tumultuous relationship with Mary Jane.
Spider-Man 3 may not be perfect, but the theme of forgiveness and bitterness are shown rather prominently in the third act.
