- This video will show the “15-Days Epic E-bike Journey on the Camino De Santiago of Paul Akers."
Hey there, in this video, I'm going to be talking about my recent travels. It was an amazing experience that started off with me speaking at a conference in India. From there, I was able to tick off a few things from my bucket list, which included visiting some of the most beautiful places in the world like the Taj Mahal, Istanbul, Sicily, and Malta.
But that wasn't even the best part. The highlight of my trip was the Camino de Santiago journey which I completed on an E-bike. It was an epic journey that I will never forget. In the video, I'll be sharing some tips on how I was able to shoot the journey using just my phone and an app. You'll also get to see the beautiful scenery, architecture, and food that I encountered along the way.
I'll also be reflecting on the weather, the people I met, and the unique experience of traveling across Spain on an E-bike. So sit back, relax, and let me take you on a journey you won't forget!

Very inspiring. I’m planning to do the Camino next year with my 2,5 year old on a bike 🚴
One of the best Camino Santiago videos. Listening at the gym. Thank you bringing us there via video
You’re living the dream
So beautiful! So great you have the wisdom to be fully present!
Well done Paul. Your video will be helpful for my upcoming trip in spring 2024. Been training now for over a year as I will be taking on the "French Way" and using a bike. Thanks.
Excellent! My best friend is there now! Buen Camino - Camino translates directly as a walk or path means good journey. You have it right. Happy travels!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Excellent photography, well done. Never considered it could be done by eBike - game changer for many I’m sure. Doing “the Camino” is higher up my bucket list now! You are an inspiration- thanks for sharing this epic journey.
Thanks so much,Paul for taking the time and trouble to share this incredible trip with us.
Wow!! You were passing by so close to Basque Country where we are!! Congratulations for El camino!
Paul, I loved the video. Unlike many others who were deeply introspecting and philosophical, you were simply having FUN. You should see your face when you were cycling through these surreal sceneries that looked like a damn computer screensaver, you were smiling like a child 😊 You even captivated the nuns in that church! You didn't need the Camino to find anything you lost, you WERE the Camino 😁 Congrats, mate.
you are so kind, and that is exactly how I live life I wake up in the morning with one thought gratitude, gratitude for the amazing life that I have been afforded.
Easter Season Processions At Burgos- Very Cool - Thank You Paul !!!
Nice video, the E-bike looks like a great option if you want to finish and only have a short time, but personally I'd rather walk a small part for two weeks, you meet so many more people when you're walking, it's the communal part of the Camino that helps make so many new friendships, they just doesn't happen when you're on a bike flying past everyone . .
Buen Camino perigrino .
Yes, I just biked it and it was wonderful and made a few friends, my wife walked and had a much more social experience, and made many friends.
Awesome video! Thank you!
Beautiful trip
Brilliant video. Thank you for sharing your journey
Thanks, Buddy! Best video yet!
Thank you, great video, I've just returned from León to Santiago and did it on bike, not Ebike and I can attest to the fact that the climbs and varying surfaces were in fact brutal. However, I decided to go back in the spring and do another section, Buen Camino. 🙌
Love the video! It’s very helpful for me who is preparing the trip. I wonder if you can share where did you find the little pouch on your handle bar to stuff your camera phone?
Great Video Paul. I'm doing the camino in May, definitely on an E bike now. Cheers
If you want I have two bikes there. I’ll sell them to you at a very reasonable price. shipped right to your delivery place. I have over $4000 in the bike. I’ll let them both go for two grand. They’re brand new basically.
@@paul-akersGoing by myself. Send me the info and we go from there. Thanks
@@paul-akers Send more info please.
@@holyfcow100 if you’re on WhatsApp, you can send me a message or give me your number and I can give you all the pictures
@@holyfcow100 the big issue is I don’t think I can put a phone number here but if you go to my website paulakers.net my direct contact information is there and you can contact me and I’ll get you all the pictures
Now you’re going to become a Catholic Paul! Next time you gotta walk it!
Great video! I'm going back for my second time on a bike. The first time it was not an e-bike, and you know how tough that was. This time, we are on e-bikes, me and some friends. My question was whether your battery was removable because ours isn't. 😅 I'm wondering if it's going to be challenging to charge them.
Yes, the battery pops out and what I did is, I would stop at coffee shops and the restaurants all along the way every 2 to 3 hours sometimes every hour and a half and I would answer emails work on projects with the battery charge for an hour and a half and then continue on it worked out really really well and I love the bikes I’ve been twice and I’m gonna go back a third time but I am selling both bikes for half the price I spent on them if you’re interested in buying them Let me know they’re in perfect condition and they’re the best you can get
Se pensaba que iría por Central Park, jajaja. El Camino es cosa seria.😂
Hi.... Amazing footage. Thank you. Where did you get the route and or the GPX files?
I use the Camino app
Thank you so much. @@paul-akers
So cool Paul, I definitely have set it in my to do bucket 🪣 list 💪😀
Awesome video Paul! Did you know where you were sleeping each night? Did you make reservations or just look for a place at the end of each day? My fear would be I"m tired at day's end but no room at the inn :)
No reservations never a problem
@@paul-akers how did you know who had vacancy? Knocked on doors? Thanks for your insights.
Also, what app did you use for navigation besides Google Maps? Did you like it?? While I tried to do quite a bit on the actual Trail, there were times I took the diversions and got lost a couple of times it was challenging to navigate, many times I felt like I was the only one on the route that I had chosen I didn't see Walker's, and I didn't see cyclists 😂
I am contemplating ebiking the camino as well! Were you worried that your bike would ne stolen?
I had a lock, but basically every night when you stay in the hotel, you can bring your bike inside the room. It was never a problem. I still have the bikes and I’m willing to sell them for half the price I bought only two grand for both of them I have a 4000 and in perfect condition.
Did you bring your own bike or rent one? Or did you buy one once you got there? Would love to do this!
I bought the bike and I left it in Spain . You can ship them all over Spain with the Postal Service for only $50. It’s very convenient.
how many kilometres were you doing on average on the mountain bike, ive been looking at purchasing that model to do pretty much the same
You can contact me and you can rent my bikes or buy them from me. They’re phenomenal. I’m using again this weekend and you will love it. I average between 50 and 100 km a day. You can get me on WhatsApp at +1-360-941-3748.
Did you have trouble finding places to charge your bike?
the farmland looks barren of habitat for wildlife
How often did you have to charge? And how did you charge?
I charged every night and during the day I would go about 2 to 3 hours, then stop at a coffee shop or restaurant and charge for two hours and then continue on and sometimes I would charge for one more hour depending about how much further I need to go by just stopping at a coffee shop or restaurant and having a salad and working on my computer. It was very convenient and it worked very well.
Thanks for the video, did you just ask the cafe owner to charge? did they mind? Did you pay them? Any falt tires?@@paul-akers
How was the ability to secure your bike at night?
@@billwiggins9953 I always just took it into the hotel room where I was staying they allow that
@@paul-akers OK, thank you.
"saint John" 😂 "saint jeen" how did you not hear any local pronouncing this?
