Senor Rick, muchas gracias for the fab shows, I went to Spain for 2 years and stayed 8. Pamplona, los toros, many bullfights, the food, music, dance, people, sightseeing, all super. From Las Canarias to all of the coastal cities/pueblos and many interiors. Viva Espana!
Spain is my favorite travel destination because of its varied landscape ,stunning weather nearly all through the year, great culinary delights and nice and kind people .
I walked it in 35 days, not counting travel days. I did no specific training for it. Anyone in decent shape can walk it under 40 days. Just carry as light a pack as you possibly can and wear good footwear.
I gave myself 5 weeks to walk the camino but did it in 24 days. It all depends on your abilities and how much you want to walk each day. I walked with no problem. You start to feel it after 25 klms. Your body tells you when to stop. You must take some rest days. To train, I walked in my city with my backpack. If you have hills or mountains to practice it's a good idea. The pilgrimage has about 3 mountain ranges to cross. It's very physical but your body gets stronger. It is an amazing experience. I met many people who became friends. You are always in the moment. It's physical, social, and then spiritual. I stop being religious after the camino (an atheist?). It certainly has an impact on you. Reaching Santiago was a let down. It's about the journey and not the destination. If you can go to Finisterre, you won't be disappointed. It was great to be by the sea. It's the cherry on top of the cake. Will do the camino Finisterre soon.

Rick, we love your programme, so we forgive you a few inaccuracies. Galego is not a mix of Spanish and Portuguese--they are three different languages. Portuguese and Galician are closely related, yet they are individual languages, not two dialects of one.

Great doc! The only thing I would say is that we Galicians say "pulpo á feira" or "polvo á feira", not "pulpo a la gallega". The latest is how non-Galicians call it, obviously. In Galician it would be galega anyways, not gallega. Gallego/a is in Spanish, not Galician. Apart of that, even I learnt some staff from the video!
Galician language is not a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish language, but the origin of present Portuguese language. It was in the 12 century when Galicia and Portucale split becaming two different counties. Both share medieval literature. :) cheers
Celtic culture in Spain is not just Galicia. Asturias, Cantabria, León and even the Basque Country also have Celtic heritage. And, of course, flamenco, bullfighting and paella have nothing to do with Northern Spain.
Bullfighting is related to all of Spain, north, south, east and west. The oldest running of the bulls registered, there may be older, is in Cuellar, Segovia, north of Spain. There are stone statues of bulls in the north of Spain thousand years old. The Celts that invaded the peninsula ended up mixing with the Iberian people and there was a mix of cultures. Portugal also has bullfights, though they do not kill the bull, as in the south of France. Flamenco is more from the south and paella is a traditional plate from Valencia.
@@Pleittor No, sir. Bullfighting has never been a tradition in the Canary Islands, where I come from. Thank God. For me, they are a barbaric custom that should be abolished, no matter how "artistic" or some kind of "'cultural' heritage" some might consider that to be. I love Spain, but hideous Spanish custom ashames me; and I guess that nowadays it ashames most of Spaniards as well.
I love your videos Rick, but once again I'll have to point out yet another mistake: gallego language is a Spanish regional language, correct, but it's not a mixture of Spanish and portuguese, at all. In fact, both gallego and portuguese languages share the very same Ibero-romance roots. On another note, I'd love you to talk about the regional languages and dialects in other european countries as well, which you never do when visiting them: 11 in France, 16 in Italy and no less than 53 in Germany.
@Carlos Saraiva not at all...they are languages, not regional varieties of the same language. You are deeply desinformed, try to educate yourself before saying chorradas.

Gallego IS NOT a mixture of Spanish and Portuguese, like it is said in the video, it is a roman language as well as Spanish, Catalan, Italian, French, Portuguese or Romanian. You should take a look into it and maybe correct that mistake by posting a message here. Thank you.
6:00 it is funky to see so many people crowded without COVID19 masks in 2021 ...
It’s funky to see people commenting on a ten year old video acting surprised that things aren’t the same as they are today.
The video would of went well with a native song of John Trudell - Rich man's War. Crazy Horse. Etc
