2 months, 500 miles, and over 1,000,000 steps. The Camino gifted me many things one of which is deep gratitude for the journey itself. I hope you enjoy! BUEN CAMINO!
Congrats 👏👏Your determination and perseverance have surely taken you on an emotional journey of self-discovery and growth. I am so proud of you for pushing through the challenges and obstacles to achieve this incredible milestone. You are a shining example of what it means to set a goal and work hard to make it a reality. Keep shining and inspiring others with your amazing journey! 👍👍👏👏
Been following your adventures for a while now, especially enjoyed watching this one 🙂. I'm going on my first camino next spring, starting from my hometwon in Belgium. It will take me a good 2 months to get to St-Jean, i'm going as far as Muxia and Finisterre, so i'm thinking i will be hiking fot about 4 months...can't wait 🙂 Until then i'm living vicariously through your adventures. Thanks for sharing all this x
Gday Cristal… from DownUnder in W Australia! I have followed your Camino .. & just love your calming attitude, graciousness & your spiritual awareness. I am 77 yrs old lady & you have inspired me to walk Sarria to Santiago de Compostela! … probably April ‘25. Gracias muchas! Jos Perth WA
Thank you Crystal for this amazing reflection of your journey on the Camino. I am a “veteran” of the Camino having traveled it over the span of three installments in 1999, 2000, and 2001. I have sought out and watched many RUclips video accounts of people who have documented their Camino journey…yours in my opinion was absolutely the best I have ever watched. Your narrative and thoughts so captured the heart, essence, and spirit of this amazing 1000 year old tradition. Bravo, my fellow pilgrim! Thank you and Buen Camino for the many roads to come in your life.
This was really very well done. In 2019 my wife and I walked the Camino Portugues and my daughter walked the Camino Frances and we plan to do the Frances in the future. It's cool that you tackled the impact the walk has on your life. While the reasons for walking are as numerous as the Pilgrims, two lessons for me were that we are all out there for our own reasons and so a perceived unfriendly "Buen Camino" may be simply a sign that the person you just encountered is in the moment of their journey. Nothing more and nothing less. Secondly my walk allowed me to return to my life of abundance and purge a little. Spending weeks with everything you need in a 30 l backpack caused me to view my closet and my possessions differently and over the next 6 months following my return home, I made many trips to Goodwill. Again, thank you for this. Well done. You are a very good visual storyteller and I enjoyed following your journey.
“What am I really doing with my life? I want to be of value to the world. “ (Midlifecrisis 1.0 - video time 1:00 ) By documenting a journey like yours, with a video like this, you’re already bringing value to the world! Not only by giving information about the pelgrims hike, but also by openly sharing your struggles with a question most of us will face sometime. So maybe your guides gave you an ‘immediate inspiration’ to share the big question - What am I really doing with my life? - and by sharing only you create value. Keep up the good work. ❤
What a beautiful and honest documentary. I walked the Camino Frances with my sister back in 2018 and this brought back so many memories. I found it hard enough to walk and try to capture in a journal what I was going through. I don't know how you found the energy to not only walk, but film and then edit this project. When I did it, i had to leave my wife and 2 boys behind. My son Tiago was only 6 months old when I left, and I hit that emotional wall in Sahagun. I was missing them so much and felt guilty for being on Camino. I still get teary eyed when watching people enter the courtyard in Santiago de Compostela. The camino is one of my highlights of my life so far. I was so happy to share it with my sister. I am leaving in 2 weeks with my sister to do the camino Portuguese from Porto. Bom Caminho and thanks so much for sharing.
Since watching the Emilio Estevez/Martin Sheen film, The Way, several years ago, I have periodically binged Camino documentaries and vlogs. This film (Yes! A film rather than a vlog!) is among the best! The exposition of challenges - physical, emotional, philosophical - is heartfelt, honest, and engaging. The traverse of La Meseta really got to me. Your honest discussion of depression at the completion of the trek in Santiago was refreshing. I enjoyed the viewing experience so much that I just emerged from the Icelandic hot springs along with you and your husband! Buen Camino! Ganji per vel!
I didn't think I'd get emotional watching this, but when you started crying when you made it at the end made me tear up! and then when your friends all cheered you on was such a special moment. I loved your commentary and insights throughout the journey and can relate to a lot fo what you discussed. Feelings of not feeling like you've done anything in your life, questioning what you want out of life. I hope you get all that you desire! I am moving to Spain soon this year and you've inspired me to do complete this walk at some point so thank you! Wish you all the growth, lessons and blessings this life has to teach us.
I am so entranced by you, your journey and your graciousness of taking us along. I am a 60 year old woman who has always dreamed of walking the Camino and your video has now sparked the flame. I am making plans to do this epic journey next year. Thank you so much for this incredible gift and sharing your transformation. You are a very gifted filmmaker. As I see it, that is your contribution to the world. Keep sharing your journey's and opening up possibilities for others.
Thank you soooo much for this video. Such an inspiration. I am 67, just retired and in good health and I want to now do this. Wish I knew what changes you have decided for your future. I needed this years and years ago. All the very best.
WOW! This was the best Camino video I've seen so far. Maybe because like you I am a solo woman who intends to do the Camino on my own. Thank you for sharing and well done! X
BEST documentary ever!! Thank you for sharing this. Day 18 of your journey, my mantra the entire West Highland Way. It so awesome to know someone gets it ❤️
20:26 - "I accepted what it was, and moved on..." Didn't dwell on it. Good stuff. Thank you for sharing a part of your journey. Sincerely, fellow Camino walker
I've never watched an entire RUclips video of someone's journey, but I am glad I stuck this out. Congrats and well done. Appreciate you sharing your experiences. My wife and I look forward to doing our pilgrimage in 2024 at the ripe age of 55.
Wow, thank you! That is such a meaningful compliment :) I wish you the most incredible journey. It forever changed my life and I know it will for both of you too! BUEN CAMINO!!!!
You shouldn't think "what have I done with my life!?!" You SHOULD think..."LOOK at what I have done.". Not everyone can travel and experience everything you have. All the places & experiences that you share with us. You should look at your life and say to yourself "I've been sooooo lucky". I'm very thankful that you've chosen to share it. 😊
Considering a journey next year. I’m thoroughly enjoying your documentary. Thanks for creating it. I really appreciate you sharing the emotional and spiritual aspects of the journey.
Absolutely loved it. Watched it together with my parents tonight, as we continue to talk about maybe doing this pilgrimage as a family one day. Thank you for inspiring with your incredible journey, and amazing film making! I was in a state of awe every time I saw you limping and then picturing you walking extra to set up your tripods to get the shot! What a feat.
Congratulations on your walk! Watching you document your journey has made my apprehension go away. We are doing our walk on Sept. 11th, and I was a little scared doing it. You have inspired me now and I won't look back. Thank you!
Apart from your great performance on the Camino, the movie is insanely well made! I have a very small RUclips channel myself and can see how much is involved in shooting and editing all these different scenes and perspectives. The result is really great! Greetings from Germany!
This entire video touched my heart. You had so many words of wisdom in this documentary. I really needed to hear what you had to say. We all go through different experiences in life. I resonate with the "leaving your past behind" with the rock. The strength it took to endure this walk, we see you! You add value to the world just by being you. I just went through a total emotional day healing. Your video is something that added value to my healing journey. I think that's very beautiful. Thank you for your existence on this planet. ✨️💜
Well done! I have never seen a video of the Camino that touched and resonated with me as this one. The feelings and insights that I had when I did the mini Camino are all in sync with what you said about your walk. You have inspired me to think about doing the entire French Camino.
Absolutely beautiful your journey of beauty, struggles, rest, camaraderie and provokingly honest thoughts and feelings made it impossible to stop watching. Thank you, Crystal, for the reminder that the Camino is calling me, as well. Godspeed.
I have to say, I loved your diary of the Camino. That sniff under the arm was so real, and funny, and such a human moment. Thank you for taking us along with you.
What an amazing documentary you have made of your journey. I found myself crying during parts of it. I had never heard of this before thanks for sharing it was very inspiring and beautiful ❤
This made me tear up walking the journey with you. Since I read a book about the Camino some years back it's been on my mind constantly. One day I will do this. Thank you 🙏🏻
Great doco, thank you. This has been on my bucket list for awhile now. It has been coming up a lot, open a book it’s there, have a conversation in public someone mentions it. Last night watched the movie at my local theatre, The Way, My Way produced and directed by a local person. One question, have you noticed the sky line whilst walking?
You can see a lightness in your face at day 16, you’re over the physical hurdle and the walking is easy(ish) . Then the mental/emotional/spiritual gets deeper. A beautiful experience
I loved following your journey Crystal. This was truly an amazing doco. I laughed with you, celebrated with you and even cried with you. The Camino is something I've always wanted to do, maybe one day.
OMG, THERE'S NO MILLION VIEWS???? YOU DESERVE MUCH MORE FEEDBACK!!! THIS IS THE MOST CANDID VIDEO ABOUT HIKING AND SANTIAGO!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORT, STRENGTH AND STUNNING VIDEO FOR EVENING WATCHING!!!! LOVE IIIIIT!!! HOLD ON!!!!!
your purpose in life is doing this , video and giving hope to people that are much older than you that have wasted their life and follow your path to el camino de santiago I wish that at 37 i had the balls to do what you are doing right now... thank you
Yes!! My like pushed your likes from 4k to 4.1k! It deserves a lot more. It's so well edited. I really enjoyed watching your documentary. It's real and honest. Very well done, both on the filming and doing the walk. I love the attention you pay to your intuition.
Most of us watching Crystal's Journey are happy for her - and crying, too, at the very end 💗👏🏅🏆 Brava, Ceystal - you are a marvelous videographer and story teller! And we are so happy for you! I got into the vortex of her story, even from the beginning!
Your journey along the Camino resonated deeply with me. I was flooded with emotions and tears flowed as I imagined myself traversing those paths. It felt as though I was right there with you. Now El Camino is calling me too.
walked the Camino from Vezelay in the middle of France , by the time I got to St Jean Pied de port , I had gone through the pain , the bad shoes , the blisters and was a marching beast , the Spanish dogs were sweet and definitely a glass of wine (or two ) were excellent fuel Got to the adrenaline junky phase at the end , two years later walked from the Estonian /Russian border town of Narva back to Vezelay , about 3500 km my pilgrim passport was full , I had added another stuck with cello tape and ended where I had started covered with stamps on both sides click on my name , there is a little video of my Camino memories
thank you for sharing these moments and personal reflections with us along the way. Thank you also for sharing your spirituality and your guides with us. You've allowed me to add something to my rucksack (my guides, my intentions) that I'm going to forget when I do the WHW soon. Even if this trail is much shorter on its own, it will still be a revelation for me. I burst into tears when you stood in front of the cross. And you were right, it's not because it's the place and everyone's doing it, that you have to do it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this video brings me so much,
Just wonderful, I was spellbound throughout and I will now watch the series from beginning to end to get a wider perspective on the trip. So many incredible moments, and yes, I cried with you on that last mile.
I loved watching your personal journey on the Camino. It really inspired me. Some people make it all look great, you give us an honest view how it really is like. With the ups and the downs. Thank you ❤
Thank you Crystal. I had almost given up my Camino dream but watch your story has sparked it again for me . Thank you for allowing us in to your honest reflections and for your beautifuly ediited labour of love
That was an awesome production Krystal ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Thank you for all the effort you put, into documenting this most special journey . I truly appreciated your candidness and honesty throughout it ALL . I learned so much from watching your videos and I am so grateful that you shared so much useful info with us as well . You are an inspiration to me and, I’m sure , to many others as well . I have so enjoyed following you on this trek . I truly feel that doing this trip alone , as you did , is the most beneficial to the soul . I really do , as arduous as it may appear at times . I’m so happy that you got so much out of your experience . Your truly heartfelt emotion at the end of your journey said it all . Omg You actually made me tear up as well! 😭 Anyway…Congrats on a great job done and Here’s to many more adventures and journeys 🥂! God bless✨
What a beautiful testimony of your Camino! I connected with your struggle in the middle section. Sometimes I feel a little sad and empty for no obvious reason. It made me feel less isolated for having those emotions when you so eloquently described what that felt like for you and how you gave yourself the grace to just be with those feelings. I’ve hiked the Francais route a few times in my life and I know I will again one day. It’s a place of refuge, beauty and joy. ❤️
I already loved following you from episode to episode, but to watch your Camino as a whole again was such a treat! So inspiring. And your filmmaking skills are over the top! Thank you so much! Sending love from Berlin, Germany 💚💚💚
Wow what a journey. It was a moment of joy at the end when we saw the butterfly emerge from your cocoon. You will enlighten us through your jourbeys. Thank you Crystal Buen Camino!
I just want to say that I have watched so many Camino videos and I am truly blown away by your honesty and persistence, I have watched yours and many other videos over the last few years. You make the journey interesting and honest and i have wanted to do this walk since my kids were 3 and 5 and now they are 13 and 15. We used to do crab camino races on the beach when they were little. When you mentioned journaling, i immediately thought of my best friend who lives in port alberni BC who is almost the same as you in so many ways. He journals every morning and gets in touch with his thoughts and feelings on a continuous basis. He is my best friend and we have know each other for so many years since grade 9. He questions his value almost daily and like you walks through it on to the next destination. I appreciate you, Thanks....
Currently on the Camino Frances (in Arzua) at a hostel you recommended in your video! (Casa Do Cabo) and I'm watching the film again as it is one of the best one about theCamino!
Dear CrystaI I loved the story of your pilgrimage... I imagined to myself what it would be like to leave a husband and children (old ones who already work) for so many days and all the emotions on the surface... and although it may be hard and painful, It would also be beautiful... I've had the idea of going for five years now, I'm preparing myself, God willing, for next year... So congratulations on everything you've achieved on this path and I wish you a blessed path in life.
more interesting than seeing the beautiful landscapes of the Camino again is recognizing in other people the transformations that this experience brings... only those who have overcome their challenges recognize every smile and every tear. excellent video.
Seems like a very realistic synopsis of the Camino. Your extended (daily) version highlighted so many moments of joy and friendship and laughter but curiously, this documentary seems to primarily highlight the inner and outer struggles.
Beautiful One.... sunflowers don't get upset with themselves for not accomplishing more and so too we are like sunflowers, giving joy to people with our smile, when we give a helpiing hand, when we lend an ear to hear...you have given us so much with your beautiful documentation.... does a rose in the gardens of Versaille have more value than a Humming bird at your window? Accomplishment is subjective.......Your presence on this earth matters and you are soooo loved brave woman!!! I am scared to death now from doing the Meseta 🤣🤣🤣...love you so very much!!! BRAVA!!!! 👏👏👏👏
My wife and I are walking the Camino Ingles next year and as you can imagine I'm watching lots videos and reading lots of stuff about it. This was a beautiful film you have put together. Thank you for letting us join you on your journey.
Fabulous video that you. It brought back memories and emotions from when I did it 7 years ago. When you cried, I cried along with you. Watching your video was like reliving my own journey. And I too had feet that looked like yours with bandages and plasters all over them and walked half the time in my sandles. Well done, you did a wonderful job of the video.
There's really no describing the myriad emotions that sweep through you as you enter Santiago. Looking forward to experiencing it again. Thank you for sharing your journey! Congratulations and buen camino!
Thankyou for sharing your journey with us on RUclips. I also feel the Camino calling to me. I have had an empty feeling inside for a while and lack of direction in my life. I have become a spiritual person with the Journeys i have done to date and i find your journey inspirational to go deeper on the Camino de Santiago de compatstella , thankyou Krystal
Thank you for sharing your journey. I love your authenticity. Last year my sister and I walked the Portuguese route. I wanted to reflect on my life. I was very grateful for that opportunity. I plan to do the French route but can’t find the courage right now. I’m scared of being lost….I will do it someday. Take care and hope you’re doing well.
Hi Crystal, Thank you for creating this beautiful documentary. I am planning to take the camino this year, and also planning to document my trip. May I know what kind of camera gear you are using during the trip? I am still figuring out the equipments that I will bring, especially it would better to travel light. Thank you Crystal.
Thank you for sharing your journey. I wish I had the fitness to do it. I felt and shared your tearful emotion when you made to the end. Well done. I hope your still walking and have found your peace. ❤
Thank you! I am still walking :) We just finished the West Highland Way and Great Glen way in Scotland. It was beautiful but very different than the Camino. I think Camino's can look many different ways. Maybe you can take your own Camino, even if it is near your home or more of an inward Camino if you are unable to walk. I appreciate the kind words. Blessed be
I was wondering what time of the year this was. Great video, I am 66 next year and the Camino has been calling me for a few years, Working on getting myself in shape for it.
May-July 2022 I filmed this myself so the journey was much longer than if I just walked. Placing the camera on the ground, walking past it, walking back to the camera and repeat for two months. Best decision I ever made and no regrets! I hope you make it there!
Ive just watched your wonderful film of your journey, thankyou. You captured the highs and lows and the raw emotion of it. I havent done the walk yet, but i feel youve given a real insight into it. 🙏
Wow! Congrats...love your video..well taken like a movie..i wonder how you managed to take such beautiful scenes when u r traveling alone? I hope to find my way too on this journey...hopefully sooon! Im from Singapore
What an Amazing young lady, and very inspiring to watch your journey. I loved the way you documented your Camino journey, and I thought it was better to watch than the film "The Way" as it was so honest. The Camino has always been on my bucket list, hopefully for next year when I'll be 64. The Camino Portuguese has always been my goal due to time factor, But after watching your French Camino, I'll have to think about the options again. Take care Geordie 🍺🍷
2 months, 500 miles, and over 1,000,000 steps. The Camino gifted me many things one of which is deep gratitude for the journey itself. I hope you enjoy! BUEN CAMINO!

2 months for the frances?

For years l have longed to do this pilgrimage, maybe l can find one of my friends to plan to join me in my quest of my deep desire to go!!
No matter how many Camino videos i watch, i get taken back to mine, walked the frances, & De Norte, both had a lasting effect.....well done.

HOLD ON!!!!!
your purpose in life is doing this , video and giving hope to people that are much older than you that have wasted their life and follow your path to el camino de santiago I wish that at 37 i had the balls to do what you are doing right now... thank you
That was amazing😊. Thank you for sharing😊. Best from Norway😊
Thank you. I watched your video hiking right beside you. Congratulations on completion!!!
I cried and laughed with you 🙏🏼❤️thank you for this beautiful, tender and honest share.
Congratulations! Felicidades eres una campeona 💪🏻❤️✝️
You made an inceradable journey, thank you very much for the recording it, you know it inspires
Glad you enjoyed it!
I cried with you and giggled with you. I almost felt the pain in my feet. It was emotional. Thank you for sharing ❤
I loved the reality of the ups and downs well done you!
Wow! What a beautiful depiction of the strength and endurance it takes to complete this journey. Thank you for sharing ❤
Absolutely!!
walked the Camino from Vezelay in the middle of France ,
by the time I got to St Jean Pied de port , I had gone through the pain , the bad shoes , the blisters and was a marching beast ,
the Spanish dogs were sweet and definitely a glass of wine (or two ) were excellent fuel
Got to the adrenaline junky phase at the end , two years later walked from the Estonian /Russian border town of Narva back to Vezelay , about 3500 km
my pilgrim passport was full , I had added another stuck with cello tape and ended where I had started covered with stamps on both sides
click on my name , there is a little video of my Camino memories
thank you for sharing these moments and personal reflections with us along the way.
Congratulation, Crystal!!!
You are a new born baby girl, now! ❤
Thank you for sharing this story to the world.
Thank you so much!!
I turn 60 next year and decided that I too will walk the Camino in 2024. Thank you for sharing your experience. Thoroughly enjoyed your documentary.
I loved watching your personal journey on the Camino. It really inspired me. Some people make it all look great, you give us an honest view how it really is like. With the ups and the downs. Thank you ❤
Thank you so much for this inspirational and well produced video. Your determination to finish the camino was amazing . Well done.
Thank you so much!
Anyway…Congrats on a great job done and Here’s to many more adventures and journeys 🥂! God bless✨
🏆🏆🏅👏👏💗
touched my Heart this one -and superbly made. The Light of Heaven to You .
I’m planning to do this alone & im so excited. COVID shutdowns got in the way in 2020, but 4 years later I’m going to do it finally
Wow what a journey. It was a moment of joy at the end when we saw the butterfly emerge from your cocoon. You will enlighten us through your jourbeys. Thank you Crystal Buen Camino!
WOW an awesome journey. Thank you for taking us with you. Goodluck for your next journey ❤
Thank you!
Please remember to subscribe and share with your friends!
Have fun!
Thank you about this video, too much lovely!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved it. I wanted more after watching “The Way” with Emilio Estevez and his Dad Martin Sheen. You didn’t let me down. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
more interesting than seeing the beautiful landscapes of the Camino again is recognizing in other people the transformations that this experience brings... only those who have overcome their challenges recognize every smile and every tear. excellent video.
Well said!
Thank you for sharing this. That was amazing!.
I've though about doing the camino, and after seeing this I know I need to now 😊.
Seems like a very realistic synopsis of the Camino. Your extended (daily) version highlighted so many moments of joy and friendship and laughter but curiously, this documentary seems to primarily highlight the inner and outer struggles.
" I don't want the same life I had. " Yes! Love those words:)
what a great account of your journey what an accomplishment you are an inspiration!!!!! thank you for sharing
Thank you :)
Your videos are so inspirational. Your transparency. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Glad you like them!
Just Wow, how beautiful, so strong of you to be so vulnerable. A very inspiaring video. Loved it !
Thank you for this wonderful video. I just found your channel. You are such an inspiration. Best of luck.
Such a beautiful camino of self rediscovery. Thank you for creating the video and sharing your experience.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, and experiences of your journey your Camino. Really beautifully done, and so inspiring.
Thank you so much!
BRAVA!!!! 👏👏👏👏
I hope someday i can join this trip. Thank you for sharing your experience
You should!
This is beautiful Krystal, it brought tears of joy to see it again. Sending lots of love and gratitude to you.
May-July 2022
I filmed this myself so the journey was much longer than if I just walked.
I found this very emotional and inspiring… You rock my friend ❤
Thank you ❤️
What an Amazing young lady, and very inspiring to watch your journey.
Take care
