My family was one of the first Asians to move to flushing back in 1976 we suffered severe racism and violence but continued on to where flushing is what it is today. I literally had to fist fight everyday just to survive. So your welcome enjoy your noodles

I grew up in Flushing in the 90’s, it was much better. We had record stores, comic book shops, arcades, clothing stores. It was more diverse. But now, it’s much less diverse, it’s like 90% Chinese now. Food wise, if you like Chinese food or Asian food in general, it’s great. Tantou’s, Xian, The Coop, Nurlan, Maxi’s Noodle, Best Northern Dumpling, Pho Hoang. Tangram Mall also has a food court, they have a JoJu Banh Mi stand there as well as a Xian spot.
But if you want some great dumplings and wontons, I suggest Beijing Dumpling House on Sutphin Blvd in Jamaica, Queens. By the courthouses. That’s my Happy Place.
A little Flushing history- Awkwafina’s family used to own a restaurant on Northern Blvd called Lum’s. That was before my time. But if you find some Old School Flushing residents, they’ll tell you about Lums. I believe Fran Drescher used to go there. It was very popular.

Fun fact: back in the 90s, carom was basically the hang out spot for the Chinese gang Flying Dragons. I lived in the projects across the street and saw 8 guys stab a rival gang member over 40 times outside the parking lot of carom. Then 5 months later, a homeless guy spat on a member smoking outside in the front. The homeless man was beat to death with an illegal baton.
A collab with another RUclipsr or even some local would be cool to watch, too.

I recently visited los Angeles and is it just me or is los Angeles just a wanna be Queens? Flushing is downtown LA. Venice beach is the Rockaways. PCH is the belt parkway. Melrose is Astoria Beverly hills is kew gardens and Compton is Jamaica.
