Great video! I'm looking to get my first camera for street and landscape photography. I narrowed it down to the Canon R8 and this XM-5 two completely different cameras but around the same price point. I am doing only lite videos mostly photography. The small form factor is so appealing

Wonder whether Fuji could release an accessory EVF for X-M5 for it to be snapped into the hot shoe. I don't want to put on glasses each time I use the camera just to clearly see the screen. 🤔

It looks neat! Thank you for presenting, a very enjoyable video :D

DPreview doesn't know how to record decent sound, how to put an ND filter in front of the camera for a 180 degree shutter, how to brighten up the presenter standing in the shadow against the sunlight with a reflector, etc.etc. Maybe DPreview, stripped of its original video team and also video expertise in its own reviews, should just give up this channel.

This video is most likely meant for first time camera buyers who just want to use the camera as it is. For that audience this gives more realistic picture what to expect.

Peace be with you! Thank you for this product demonstration. However, I would rather see a DEEP DIVE into the X-M5's enhanced video capabilities ie: equipped with a Video Recorder - Apple RAW (Atomos) or Blackmagic RAW (Video Assist) - video quality when the video is saved to ProRes. Thanks again!

If you want to attach a camera to a Raw recorder, it's hard to recommend the X-M5. It can do Raw out via HDMI, but it uses a microHDMI connector to do it, which has a terrible reputation for durability and reliability. Even if the Raw video out was amazing, you could easily ruin your recording or even your camera's HDMI port with one wrong bump.

rubbish autofocus, no stability, noisy lens range, jumpy exposure - i bought it for stills I am not fooled by the video nonsense. the last thing anyone should buy this camera for is vlogging.

To each their own but I respectfully disagree.
FLOG and the X-M5 can shoot 4K 60p, it also supports 6K, 4:3, open gate shooting - 6K BRAW external. For its price it's going to sell like hotcakes for people that purchase two or three for small productions. On youtube the videos already produced from this are jaw-dropping. - Watch the Ermia Ramez video.

@@AllisonRoadWest it will sell very well, I have bought one. It looks great and with a small lens (I have the 16mm f2.8 ) makes the GRIII look a bit silly. But without reliable autofocus for video it's just pointless for vlogging. You can get excited about "open gate" ( note no Sony has it and they are the maket leaders so clearly not important) or external blackmagic raw ( odd using the smallest of cameras with a massive reccorded attached - not sure the logic there ) . I have a range of cameras ZVE1, A6700, A7RV , X100VI , Canon R10 and this one. All have their uses and are fun. The A6700 for not much more is a different class for video. I'd would love to get excited about buying a high video specced Fuji but without the basics it's like buying a Porsche with a wobbly steering wheel. Nice for still though. IMO.

@@ourtvchannel - stills? nah. This doesn't even have a viewfinder. Its clearly a video product.

95% of all my photos are taken on my phone, no view finder. Just but a ZVE 10 ii or A6700 for video. View finders are so 1980s @@AllisonRoadWest

It’s really frustrating that Fujifilm still can’t catch up with the competition when it comes to autofocus performance
