You're right about the show mishandling Jonah and Amy's relationship. Unfortunately, not every show can get romance right like B99 and Parks and Recreation.
Honestly I wanted more of their relationship after they said they were dating I feel like the producers could have put more of there chemistry in the show they just had so much love for each other #jamy
I agree! They had more chemistry when they weren’t together. But when they actually started the relationship it felt like they were distant towards each other, I didn’t feel the love and chemistry they should’ve had. I mean I do love simmosa but more effort could’ve been shown towards their relationship 🥺

Believe me, those of us who watched this show when it was airing on NBC were vocal on Twitter about the lack of couple-y scenes with Jonah and Amy. Season 4 was a waste of so much potential for the writers to have written cute scenes with Jonah and Amy stealing kisses on the floor, in the breakroom or stockroom. It's annoying to me that some writers do not think past the getting together stage. The buildup/slow burn was magnificent, but then they really dropped the ball. I always point to The Mindy Project as show that knew that there is tons of comedy to be played from a happy couple.
I feel like the writers gave up on Jonah and Amy after the sex tape moment and once in a while they put a couple scene just to check the box of “they’re in a relationship”. It’s so sad.
This is my first time seeing this video. I read everything you wrote in the description section and I could not agree more. You said practically everything I felt. I was also on Twitter making sure the writers/powers-that-be were listening because I was furious how they just gave up on writing for Jonah and Amy as a couple as soon as they got together. They could have had so many cute moments in the store, stolen kisses while on the job, cute handholding in the breakroom, some cute at-home scenes (they had one with Jonah and Kelly, for crying out loud). It didn't need to happen every episode, but the writers really dropped the ball not giving us anything besides crumbs in season 4. I also started to lose interest around season 5 and I was ready for the show to be over when they announced season 6 would be the last. I'm glad they got it right in the end. It's just super frustrating how some writers think that once couples are together that they are automatically boring and cannot write for them. It's lazy and ridiculous. I always reference The Mindy Project season 3 as my favorite example of how funny and great it can be when the two leads finally get together -- there wasn't a dull moment and the show was at its peak.
Can’t get over their story for some reason... I swear if this is actually how it ends, I don’t think I ever will. I mean, to this day I’m still upset about Ryan and Marissa in The O.C 😂
Yknow sometimes you get so invested into a fantasy it becomes your reality, and I think this show became my escape from true reality, I was so happy whenever I could sit down and turn this show on, and I know it’s silly to be so invested into something. But when this show ended it felt like a piece of me was torn from me without me having the chance to embrace it once more. This show was such a lifesaver I do truly believe it helped save my life and again I know it’s silly but I will forever cherish all the silly and emotional and beautiful scenes in this show.
I know I’m spamming, I’m sorry I just am in an emotional hardship and going back to this show really helps relieve my nerves, it’s such an emotional rollercoaster that it adds suspense but I just can’t express how much this show helped me and gave me the feeling of pure joy and happiness, I will forever love the cloud 9 family and I’m so glad this show came into my life
Honestly, this needs to be the most watched edit of Jamy, right from the song choice, the scene selections, ending with "Nice to meet you, Amy", perfect choices. I hope you make one more of them with the complete story now that it's over.

I just binge watched the whole show for the first time (up till 6x02 at least) and oh my heart!! This video is so lovely and your editing is so good -- Love how you draw connections between different scenes. Can't believe they broke up though! I've been inhaling their story for the last two weeks!

okay... i cried :( this is my favorite edit ive seen of them so far. im SO disappointed in how they handled that. there were so many different ways to handle America leaving and they.... ruined the relationship the creators built for years all in the name of an actress leaving. not the best way to do it :( but other than that, this is SO good the voiceovers were timed so perfectly and the scene choice was just so spot on. 🥺

Anyhow my point is that I think it did a disservice to so many people who tuned into the show for them. And their breakup was so out of the blue but I think unfortunately they didn't feel like trying anything creative to keep them together. And I've watched the episodes without America, and they don't feel that different than before, which shows that these two haven't been the main focus for a while.

My favorite scene of them is of them screaming at each other in the break room about how Jonah waited for 2 years for her and she says he could leave at anytime and he snaps back that so could she. Like DANG their chemistry in that scene. They always acted awkward once actually together, I don’t know why. Maybe they play that slow burn better than being an actual couple. I can’t blame the pregnancy storyline on the show, she got pregnant in real life. That’s why they wrote that in, but yeah it could’ve been handled better after the fact. Jonah deserves better tbh. This was beautiful though
