Great tip. I went old school and used steel shot and just pushed them in and glued them in. That way I could distribute the weigh in different places on the bait. Works really well on large worms.

Good idea Scott! New action and bait look is important in the water . The copper tube will cut better if you took a counter sink used to counter sink the holes of the airplanes aluminum skin. You can spin the counter sink by hand to give the copper tube a sharp front edge!! It will cut and clean out the rubber much easier. Good luck this year on the new tour!!!

Ive bought from 1 up to 6 of every style bait googans have put out. From hard to soft baits. Love what y'all are doing and really enjoy watching and learning from your videos Scott Martin. I Hope one day I can make it pro and fish against you till then I'll just keep practicing and watching your videos.
The beginning of this second video was perfect scott kudos on this one. A person can cut out a thin bit of the foam and fill the top of it with some 5 min epoxy alsonif they are worried about water logged foam.

Great old school technique. I have coring tools they used to sell made out of aluminum. And used to do that to worms and lizards. I would slice the bait. Core it insert lead. No tungsten back then. Then heat the 2 pieces back together. Thanks for sharing this. Can’t wait to see what else you have stored away.

Thanks for the hack Scott! I want to try fishing the spawn this spring and this makes sense. I’ve also heard to drop shot a fluke from the tail with a nail weight in the nose during the spawn
Scrap copper electrical wire cut to lenghth and can also be a very affordable alternative to the tungsten weights. Just place a dab of crazy glue on it and insert it unto your favourite soft plastic for a nice slow sink bait. Can also use lead free silver solder on the roll also. 15 bucks can get a 1lb roll can cut to lengh and weight also.
Great angle of attack on those soft plastics! I’ll absolutely have a pole rigged up like this in my boat! Also got my hat (same one you’re wearing) and donk shirt yesterday super quick shipping and the quality is superb!
Awesome tip Scott, from a budget aspect might be better to rig it with lead weights. Looks like it's an easy way to lose the weight when the bass thrash and bait flys off. Thank you for a great video

Been doing this for years, but I use a bell sinker. Works great, never lose a weight and tungsten is expensive. Great tip Scott

I've rigged'em belly weights backwards to get them under docks and brush but never put the weight inside. Nice.
