The green train in the video is a An Iarnród Éireann 29000 Class DMU not a dart old green train so correction here but it looks as Irish as can be 😀
The reopening the Western Rail Corridor you change a Colloney to get Mayo/Galway train.
Beautiful places, love the rolling green hills! Also the train at 02:40 looks distinctly Irish 😁
Thank you onwards and upwards 👍
Thanks for this beautiful video. Love and peace to you from Ontario Canada.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it ☘
Great video but just some corrections:
The 29ks aren't new and are in new livery,
That's the Mullingar Greyhound Stadium, not 1916 Memorial.
Other than that all good!
Thanks for your comments I always like to hear about the mistakes as one can only learn from them.I did thing the memorial with the Irish flags was the 1916 memorial in Mullingar thanks again for the helpful comments ☘
Lovely ☘️
Thank you! Cheers!
The train seen at 02:40 is not a DART train. It is actually just a basic commuter train.
The DART trains are small, pale green boxy wee things that are electrically powered via overhead lines.
Thanks for the correction it is a new An Iarnród Éireann 29000 Class DMU I assumed it was still a Dublin Area Rapid Transit train as it serves on the same line 😕 by the way your channel is great and a credit to you petitioning to have the rail-lines extended. But I don’t agree with donating towards a petition but I will subscribe now as it’s free 😂☘
@@travelbyplanestrainsandcruise Yes the Irish Rail system in and around Dublin can be rather confusing. Especially since they now want to expand the DART to Drogheda and Kildare which only adds more questions into the mix of 'what happens to the commuter lines then'.
Also thanks, I'm a solo railway campaigner looking to push for the regeneration of the railway network in Northern Ireland (and Ulster) that was largely dismantled in the 1960s.
@@fundthenine hey, do you know if ireland and northern ireland were affected by the Beeching Cuts?
@@travelbyplanestrainsandcruise Its ot a new 29k, all 29k have the new dark green livery as to the light green ones and have been in service since the late 90s
Nice Journey you Filmed!😃.Did many board and alight at the train stations between Dublin and Sligo?.Was the Train Service busy?.
Thank you 👍No it was a very quiet service a lot of people did alight at Longford, and a lot boarded at Carrick-on Shannon.Might be busy during the summer lovely scenery.
