I still got a full original, 1990 with 550000 km , even got the front hinges to put the front window down to shoot out off . Been meaning to turbo it for years but I don’t trust anyone to tune it correctly
Ive got the same ute had turbo fitted 15 years ago at 326000 km now at 405000 change oil every 10,000 hasnt missed a beat still has same injectors running strong !
✔️
Change oil every 5000 better .
Facebook scholar 2019 here, little bit of blow by is good it just means means you can run mooore boost.
My 80's 1hz is just over 691 k km's on the original motor and people tell me that over 300 k km's the economics of turbo-ing an aged 1hz don't add up though I'm not sure. TBH I never thought about looking at that very simple test for blow-by. My motor has as far as I can tell the original head and in the time I've owned it (since 2011 when it was at 505 k km) I've never had the motor apart beyond timing belt, water pump and other external things. Injectors and pump were done at about 510 k km's. I'm aware that most people recommend 10 to 15 psi is the limit for 'safe' turbo-ing plus fitting an EGT gauge. I'm aware that 1hz's have a problem with head cracking, etc. so don't want to over-cook! As a turbo kit is a $4000 proposition it's not something to consider on a whim.
Bro can you please show me how to connect the two power steering hose.
I'm following. 70series owner👌
👍
That bad boy sounds smooth as💪
A very Prime example 👍
What year is your 75? Ours is a 92 model
I just tested my 1HZ after watching this video 333k on the clock was running like a dream, 100-110 ks hr with no problem in a 4.6tonne coaster motorhome bus and found I've got heaps of blowby and white smoke, oil splattering out everywhere. Was a well looked after 1HZ one day I put 4 litres of AdBlue (urea, diesel exhaust fuel) in the fuel tank by mistake and 14 kays later motor stopped? After putting new everything on the motor, pump, glow, injectors, belt, and return lines the motor was still not tuning right and blowing smoke with less power than it used to. Watched this vid and checked the blowby think prob going to need a new motor now. AdBlue is dangerous stuff that ruins your life. Can see a video on my channel called 'Is 1HZ blowby the problem?'
Yep basically its water and salts (urine)
Hi Andrew, I am buying a 1 hz toyota coaster which I would like to turbo. What tests can be done when I look at the bus motor to help me decide that the motor is in good condition? I am a bit sceptical about the odometer reading being original km.
Also what is your turnaround time from start to finish to turbo these1hz motors in a coaster bus? Cheers Mick.

A googl esearch and we have a few videos on that
@@BerrimaDiesel thanks Andrew, a lot of good information.
Youre Welcome
Do you see much if any blowby in the ln106s? Every one I've seen always seems to have it
Yep each model engine has a specific acceptable amount. 4.2s none. a 3L maybe some but it takes an Expert eye to know the difference between some and too much.
Minehas 465000kms and starts first crank cold everytime
Nice
Is it normal for them to have a little bit??
They have none at New, 300,000 or 500,000km
Hey mate I’m pretty new to owning a Land Cruiser, I’ve bought a 1hz 79 series in the last month, what’s the highest speed you’d be comfortable sitting at?
Whatever the speed limit is 😁
What about Intercooler?
Simply no need around a 1HZ
What do you mean by all over with blow by. Most 1hz engines I've seen over 400,000kms have blow by
other than badly rebuilt 1HZs Im yet to see an old Original one with blow-by
my 1hz was actually turbo'ed by you guys it looks in 2005 from the paperwork. its got blowby atm but is that because its turbo'ed?
Hi mate. Theres blowby and blowby but the expert eye allows us to decide which it is. Good or Bad. Cheers
@@BerrimaDiesel to be fair it’s done 300,000 since you guys turboed it I’m pretty sure and she’s still running
