making ferrofluid as a lab? oh heck yeah!

I love this lab, and students do too! It's really gratifying to watch kids play, and learn science, and do sophisticated (for high school) chemistry. Huge thank you to nilered for posting his procedure and laying the ground work for this.
Teachers note - stop doing that lab you hate and switch this one in. Just take the leap. You won't be sorry, and your students will lose their minds. And, after all, isn't that what's important. You can make your kids love science, or hate it, and the choice is yours. Literally everything you need to do this lab is available at a hardware store, or amazon. No excuses, broh.
