I remember I was stubborn one year and used a mac but I had to do even more work to configure my windows virtual machines to cooperate and work properly with whatever assignments we had to do lol long story short I was like why am I doing this to myself. These classes are hard enough 😅

Bruv I 100% love this, as someone who literally went through computer engineering with an Apple laptop, I kept getting shunned because it wasn’t Microsoft 😂 but I made it through, I learned it well enough even with an Apple computer, it’s more than capable enough plus tax to get through the university minus gaming (for now)

It's just easier to dual boot. My setup with Windows + Fedora works like a charm and is endlessly customizable. I highly recommend it, and the installing process was surprisingly very easy.
Thats also not a bad idea as well. Ive done it in the past but for me this is what worked better and it was like an out of the box experience
Yeah, but than it is always a pain in the ass to access the data from each partition. As long as you only need the command line stuff of Linux, wsl is pretty great.

@@r_sajol Never used it, so - i don't know. But, i guess it is possible, they mention on their website a way for windows (via IDE) and I can imagine, that it could be possible on the WSL as well.
Nop i was in dualboot forced by my ex work who want us on linux. On my laptop that was a fucking pain. Not all driver compatible, not as fluid as windows, eat my battery like a squirrel on nuts. Now I removed everything from this trash linux partition,. So happy with windows 11 and wsl 2

Using Docker to run a database container would be better than installing the database server on the machine.
yup but a school will never want you to do that :/ I agree with you but when youre learning and stuff, thats just besides the point
@@andresvidoza our school actually forces us to use docker when learning web dev and databases, we access the databases with phpmyadmin

@@virility mostly because it’s easier for the teachers lmfao. they just give us a docker compose file and it works on every machine. saves them alot of time and it teaches us docker in the process

Great video! I'd recommend to tone down the color gradient a bit. It might makes the scenes look good, but when you show the screen it has an opposite effect, and makes it look horrible 😅

FYI Installing Docker Desktop on windows - select linux containers (the default) and not select windows containers

actually you don't need to turn of all the visuals and transparency options
most modern laptops can handle those with no problem
they don't affect the performance that much
and you don't need to use powershell separately
you can use it just as well from the terminal app

The biggest issue (and something what has to be regulated): you cannot publish apps without a MacOS machine. Which is a huge issue for a development device. If there would be a convenient docker container or so for mac os, but there is none.
I've got a question, why we need install the choco, it can be install the git and node normally in windows right? what I mean is the wsl is purpose only for the project file? but in developing is still open in vscode in windows?

Legion is a good choice for this. It is already a Windows answer to a MacBook pro 16
I wouldn’t recommend closing the lid while docking. I used to do that and because of the heat that the keyboard was getting and the lack of air after some time some keys didn’t want to work at all. It might also impact the screen because of the keyboard heat. Windows laptops aren’t macs which never get hot or loud.

Ohhh thats a tough one. Haha thats a curved ball. Dude it depends where you are at this stage in your life. From experience in uni, its almost like you gotta rock both devices if you own a macbook. I think Universities tend to stick with windows because of their support with various tools they like to use in order to teach. But after graduation, imo, if you dont need an intel platform, I think the m2 air is the winner. Thats also if you dont care about gaming or game dev.
