Thanks for the update and particularly showing how you seal those damn spacers. I've got the front of mine sealed for the first time in history, but now the back is leaking.
I look forward to hearing and seeing you build the street car engine. Regards Steve.

Good to see you back here Griff.
Ref: your engine rebuild and using the VN conrods, they are a very good rod. Go through all your VN rods and if you get keen you can simply cleanup up each side of the ‘I’ beam to take any dags etc. with a carbide burr and then a cartridge roll etc.
You don’t need to get too carried away (although I’ve seen a few sets when they were ground smooth on both sides) and weigh them as you go and try keep them close weight wise.
Then get the rods resized and fitted with ARP bolts, balanced and they will be fine for your street car.
Who did the valve work on your Dave Bennett heads?
    Thanks Al

I ran a set of prepped vn rods but damaged one but have a spare to prep.. They seem to have a little more material were its needed over the early ones, I have arp Rod bolts in them too..
George from Melbourne did the springs, real nice fella he helped me with the carb tuning over the phone and really explained how it all works in depth over a couple of years... His health is not good at the moment hence why it took so long..
Glad you enjoy my humble little vids, im just enjoying what I do and share my experiences and my truths..

I'd like to see someone do some testing on split single plane intakes,
I'd like to try two 500 Holley 2bbl carbs on a low 2x4's intake like a tunnel, with the carbs turned sideways, putting the throttle blades in a row down the center of the intake, use a couple short velocity stacks, similar to the ones used on turbo inlets, and build a plenum based on that, probably using a u bend pipe, with nearly the whole center cut out, 2.5"-3" with a 2:1 into a 2.75"-3" inlet, then a slight domed top welded on, to allow the air to split bint to two streams, then over flow into the carbs, so it enters from every direction, similar to the exhaust in the turbine housing of a turbo, only lower pressure and oval to fit the two carbs, with the carbs inline, center mounted in a row, with a thick spacer sculpted to enhance flow, like a reverse funnel, leading to the ports from the throttle blades, with a 1:1 linkage, it may need 30cc pumps but two modified 500 2bbl Holley carbs should do nicely, atleast what a 750-850 would. Flow

Interesting idea mate, I knew of folks using a 500 holley on a worked 202 cubic inch holden early six cylinder with good success at the drag strip

Gday Si, been a while nice to hear from you, all well down here. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned about your hat, is the plenum area, it really allows throttle response when stabbing the pedal off idle. The other hat didn't have the extra plenum and would stumble no matter how much I played with carb. Its truly a well thought out design.
Thankyou for the offer on another hat I definitely will commission you on a similar setup but a underbonnet deal, one day haha if I ever get round to it.
Thanks for touching base, you definitely have mad skills and passion for what you produce with you hands
Cheers Griff and again thankyou mate 👍

David vizard has some videos on making stock rods into nice performance pieces! If you haven't , he is worth checking out, he is a genius, studied the IC engine at it's smallest parts looking to gain efficiency and power!

Just wondering Bud, do you have enough room on the headers to fit an O2 sensor bung on each pipe and have a sensor in each pipe to do real time testing, control and recording of all gases from each and every pipe. Don't laugh, but could you have 2 inlets opposite each other into the top hat instead of one, could that distribute the boost more efficiently through out the manifold. I'm glad everyone well and OK mate, hi Neat, keep the old fella in line haha. Take care, stay safe. Seeya Rob.......Rocky and I are both well, kids are great so that's all I really need mate.

Hey Rob, glad to hear all is well.. The 02 sensors are a good tool but learning to understand plugs is were I can really understand timing and fuel, that knowledge doesn't cost anything but time to learn it, you know im old school 😀 👍
