In 1984, I was a member of a band who performed this song at an opening of a folkhouse in Tesoro's Building, Mabini, Ermita, Manila. My rule was just to play a tambourine and sing the " turn around" back-up phrase, he, he. I really enjoyed it. - now, in my senior years, I'm watching from Lanao del Norte, Mindanao, Philippines.
lovely arrangement , shortened well enough and with a good ending that it still did it justice. Amazing vocals and live as you normally get with a real performer like Bonnie Tyler.
I’ve been listening to this song since I was a kid, and it never gets old. What a unique voice. That husky voice is amazing; I think Pink has a husky voice too
This is a fantastic live performance. I think this is a part of a medley here as Bonnie originally sung Rebel Without A Clue, It's A Heartache, Holding Out for A Hero, then finished the set with Total Eclipse Of The Heart with each song cleverly colliding into each other with a quick tempo change. I believe this was filmed around 1986, and the vocals here are very powerful and clear. Although slightly different from the original 83 recording, the power in Bonnie's voice was very much evident, and it sounded like she had become more confident with the song and how to delve into a greater vocal range to prolong the finale thereby giving an excellent live performance.
it might be the only time she ever sang Rebel Without a Clue live, cause it's an extremely hard song to sing by just the length (despite singing only the first 2 minutes of the song, where its live version is 8:30 long, and even the single form is 4:00) and the arrangement of the song with layers and layers of vocals and instruments making it physically impossible to perform live but that just shows how Bonnie Tyler is good as a singer tbh
@Élijah-l1h that's very true. Rebel Without A Clue must be extremely difficult to perform as it's an epic song in length and arrangement. I've looked for other live performances but never found them, so you could be right, this may be the only live performance of it. I don't think they even made an official music video for its release, either, which is a shame. To sing even the first 2 minutes live must have been tiring as the speed and tempo is very fast. In the full version, I love the line "Dirty Harry to Madonna, I've been learning all the roles" Bonnie Tyler's vocals around this time were absolutely amazing, the power and range just incredible.
Bonnie Tyler is a talented singer with a powerful husky voice who knows to express the emotion through the song. Once upon a time there was light in my life, but now there' s only love in the dark...A total eclipse of the heart is illuminated by the light of Jesus Christ, because He is the Light of the world that dispels the darkness of the heart. He is the Savior who died on the cross for you so open the door of your heart and receive Him right now. Jesus Christ loves you very much❤️ and He is waiting for you with open arms.🙏 🙏 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️ December 22, 2024 Is anyone there watching ?
Rod Stewart of the female rock genre. She's really unique, and even in recent performances in her 70's sounds amazing. I remember when it came out waaaay back, and the production and arrangement always made me stop and listen closely. Really, she kind of looks like Rod.
The bassist and guitarist didn't follow the original arrangement at all. They did such a lazy rendition. Luckily Bonnie's vocals keep it all together (and all the backing tracks).

I think she forgot, that they were going straight into the second chorus, which messed up her timing during that short build up before the climax, which doesn't happen in the first chorus. I mean, if you imagine always singing the longer version on tour for years, you can't really blame her for that. Stuff like this just happens when you're actually singing live, and I think she did quite a good job in keeping it together afterwards.
when no one sounds like you,, then you are a legend!
Best female vocal of all time in my opinion. absolutly amazing
Robin Beck, Marie Frediksson, Ann Wilson
Bonnie is sporting a hairdo that was called the handgrenade in the 80-ties. Lovely Steinman song and the best welsh singer to perform it!
Her voice was killer here.
Damn, wish they'd let her perform the entire song.
Who is still listening to this angel voice to in December of 2024 to

Hermoso tema

A good omen for Argentina that year (hello, World Cup '86!), Who knew this song would be good luck for Argentina in the World Cup!

Si se nota, hay una frase que dice: la mirada es el espejo del alma.
Si es verdad se le nota la tristeza en la mirada
esto fue en 1986 y la operación fue en 1975 así que no puede ser de los primeros con su nueva voz ya llevaba 11 años

One of her best version of the song. Kinda looking sad. Maybe because she didnt like her hairstyle 😊
Her hair is iconic here, very full and shiny 😂 I've seen much worst
She really messed up near the end. I'm blaming the band and back up singers. They didn't back her well at all. I'm still in love with Bonnie though.

Nah it sounded deliberate. The problem was she couldn't find her way back in until after she said "I'm falling apart"
