    I received my Gen 8 - 2 months ago. Mine comes with the UHD(3840x2160) IPS Glare 500nits display and it is simply astounding display. You watch a RUclips video and it's like you are there with them. The Dolby Atmos sound also is great.
    Coming from my previous bulky T520. It is so thin and light. I'm so happy with my choice.

      That's quite an upgrade. Some T520 units did have the high colour gamut display. This is something else though.

      @@kaziseeam8524 Its been 4 years and I still use my laptop. Not had those issues. Only issue I had is that I can't log into apps like Onenote I can only use the cloud Onenote in the web.

    I think the gen 8 has 4K 60hz hdmi. Gen 7 only does 30hz 4K hdmi

    Thanks, what about fps between an I7-7th gen and an I7-8th gen?
    The GPU is a bit more powerful on a GEN8, but is there a big difference in 3D games?
    Thanks.

      8th gen tbh is the minimum to go for these days. 2x the CPU core count is significant (vs 7th). GPU side the difference is minimal until 11th or 12th Gen Xe.

    i am waiting on a gen 7 with 16gb ram and 2k panel, after this review hope the display is bright enough and colors rich enough on it... 4k was not available

    • @GreenGreenStore
      @GreenGreenStore  3 года назад

      Personally the 2k panel is arguably the optional point between battery life and resolution. Hope that you enjoy the laptop.

    Get the UHD(3840x2160) display. Don't worry about 'glare' after 1 day you will hardly notice it.

    Would you recommend this or the x1 nano gen 1?

    • @GreenGreenStore
      @GreenGreenStore  5 месяцев назад

      If the price is right and you've enough ram. Sure. Check the usb-c port and screen wear is acceptable if buying refurbished.

    Can you test the speakers ? Is there any difference between 7th and 8th gen ?

    • @GreenGreenStore

      Would suggest looking at the notebookcheck review. They've the tools to test it. We haven't yet, but hope to in the future.

    Intel announced the new 11th Gen Intel Core processors.
    Can you install those on my new Thinkpad X1 Gen 8 laptop?

    • @GreenGreenStore
      @GreenGreenStore  4 года назад +1

      You'll need a new laptop to use the Gen 11. The X1 8 is still very performant for many workloads.

    Is 8GB RAM enough for average use? I can’t afford 16 and I’m worried because I can’t upgrade it.

    • @GreenGreenStore
      @GreenGreenStore  4 года назад +2

      Ideally aim for 16GB as the minimum.

    • @DevyRomulo
      @DevyRomulo 4 года назад

      It depends on what you do. Normally, for people who do general tasks such as word processing, surfing, etc. 8gb would suffice but will reload some stuff if the RAM will fill up, but if you do more demanding tasks such as video editing or such, you should get the 16 gb.

    Im torn between x390 and x1 gen 8. I just dont like x1's ddr3 ram. Is there a big difference between ddr3 and ddr4? thanks

    • @GreenGreenStore

      Shouldn't be too much difference in the real world usage.

      @@GreenGreenStore Oh ok. One more question. Which one would you pick between T490 and X390? thank you

    • @GreenGreenStore
      @GreenGreenStore  4 года назад

      Personally the T490 any day. I prefer the full size keypad in the larger model, bigger screen, and 1x upgradeable ram slot. Your mileage might vary.

      I just bought a new 2019/20 7th gen Japan version X1C 8gb ram/1tb SSD for a measly 646 USD. Insane deal. 16gb ram would have been better, but not available...but for that money, it was too good to miss.
