I once wired up my Sony home hifi system into the back of a Honda CRX with an extension cord coming out of the front door of the house (I was bored). When I got done, my dad had got back from work early, saw what I did and couldn't stop laughing, so I laughed at myself with him, haha.
My Stoner Mind lol me and my father not to long ago build a custom 3way box with tweeter and 2 subs in each cabin on 120watts and my doors are staking of it 😂
haha! I did pretty much the same thing 2 weeks ago. Took my 2 PSB 500 speakers, sony stereo amp, and paradigm DSP-3200 and plugged it into a computer backup battery in my car. It was niiiice! After about an hour my friend said he was feeling slightly nauseous lol.
So funny, I had a CR-V back in the day and I took my dad's old home stereo 12's and put them in the back running off the stock head unit and it pounded enough people thought it was a legit system ha ha
I prefer the Z623 subwoofer, the enclosure is tuned much lower and it sounds so more warm and rich with real sub bass instead of the (more powerfull) more boomy bass of the Z2300
What's weird about this is I have the Z-2300 Sub.. ( Completely gutted, All internals removed, Dampened the port, lined the walls of the enclosure with essentially thin dynamat-substance ( Thank you Amazon ;) and re-wired the rear plate to accept newly installed banana jacks. Prior to this, I tested this dumpster find in the living room... ( About 40X more cabin space than the VW Golf MKIV it's going into) and it literally shocked the bananas out of me. Clean bass down to where the John Williams Soundtracks and his penchant for 6 ft bass drum hits were Genuinely exciting. No distortion either. ( I was essentially dumbfounded that this little 8" ported sub filled this room so well.. It was insane). Granted, The satellites blew up before the sub even reached it's stride, but whatever. *That driver in the Z2300 is a 4 Ohm driver, btw.. ( just FYI in case anyone needs to know. :) I have a 200 Watt/4Ohm amp for the Golf ready to go.. and have tested the new revamped sub in my listening room ( See also: "Bedroom Theater" / Love den.. ...sadly, without the love.. >.< ... DAMN YOU COVID!!!!!!!!!! ( i digress.. ) Anyway, the sub, if you can get the connections on the back to stop rattling, sounds pretty amazing. I'm excited to see what cabin gain does for this sub in the 2 door hatchback ~ that I will STILL be able to carry my entire drum kit in without having to remove this tiny SoundBomb. Freaking Love it. If the woofer needs upgrading, I (personally) will be looking at Peerless replacement 8" subwoofer drivers. (Danish company, Amazing quality for the price.) *** HOWEVER: If you are looking for One-Note bass, don't bother. If you actually want to Enjoy your music, This is a great way to put articulate bass down to the mid 20Hz into your ride without exploding your bank account. ( Currently, My little woofer's dust cap is sporting a nice yellow "Dunlop" sticker to confuse any would-be thieves that this box is actually a spare tire. ;) Lmao.. That, plus bear trap.. hopefully = Success. :) Cheers!

Subaru Wagon and a MCM Chopped Sticker, I like your style. Car audio installs are quite easy with a little bit of know how. I've changed all the speakers, Head unit, and added a Sub in my Impreza wagon, and if you have all the stuff ready to go you could easily do it in a day. If you want to get a dedicated car Sub then i would recommend the Alpine stuff, I have a 8" 150W sub from them and it more than enough to get the car shaking if i want it to, but also integrates well with the rest of the system is set up correctly. I don't know about the stock Amp in the Legacy but the one in my Impreza was awful, the aftermarket head unit made it sound so much better with the stock speakers and no sub, so i would defiantly recommend looking into upgrading that
Because you are using the controller, i'm just gonna take a wild guess that you are using the original amplifier. If you are, then you can hook up a pair of speakers to the two rca outputs. It should be 40 watts max. And sound is ofc filtered out with the sub
I dont know a lot about speakers so this may sound bad. I bought a subwoofer and it came with two satellite speakers right? It was an 8 inch woofer on the outside. But on the inside it was a 4 inch😣. The cover was just a bass radiator. But, I got it for 15 dollars so I cant really complain.
Phoenix I know Logitech has a couple models like that. The Z-3 and Z-4 subs were the same way. 8" passive radiator on the outside and a 4" active speaker inside. Kind of shady but didn't sound too bad.
So did you actually do it? Because I tried exactly this but I can't run the car speakers simultaneously because it interferes pretty bad (sounds like a FM radio with pretty bad connection). It seems like the 3,5mm cable frrom the z2300 is sending a bit of power to the Aux splitter and the car speakers don't really like that. A friend said maybe the inverter is a bit broken but I don't really want to buy a second one (only 35 bucks, but still...)
Philipp Trapp You're probably right. But every room, and every car is different. The only way to know for sure is to test with an spl meter. Many times it's better near the rear seat in a sedan, but not all. But sure on a wagon. Again. Have to test
Did he use an inverter? If so, What size and was it pure or a square sign? I want to do this in my boat and utilize the 2 Monster Rockin Roller 4's I already have. They have a line out auxiliary port so would just have to go into the sub with RCA/3.5 mm cable. All I know is I need bass desperately and Im not going to mess with the stock system as of yet. During the bass test all I heard was clipping. It sounded like earrape and I thought it was from the video. Turns up my amp was way too high and it was clipping. First time it's happened. No smoke coming out though so that's nice.

if you wanted to make this permanent, you could get an inverter to power the sub, and it shouldn't harm the cars battery at all.
this subwoofer is really just a 4 inch woofer I took mine apart last year. what you can see is a passive radiator

ive had the z 2300 speakers since about 2007.still love them but you have to mess wt the eq cuz these things are all about bass.
