Had she been lived to this day, she would have been as equally big as Cher, Aretha Franklin (RIP), Dolly Parton, Patti Labelle or Diana Ross. Gone way too soon...
I grew up with Mamma Cass and now at the age of 63, I turn on a video of hers and I’m a kid again without a care in the world. That woman was magic and still is to this day. Love you, Mamma Cass!
There's no doubt in my mind that Mama Cass had one of the greatest voices of rock and roll of all time, and one of the greatest personalities of all time. I heard she was a joy to be around. So many assholes live until their 90's and good people like her don't make it. Life sucks, but at least Cass was around to bring light for a while.
Cass Elliott was one of the supreme pop voices of the twentieth century...here she is singing live, without any digital tricks of today...total understanding of her musicianship...her natural gifts gifted with her natural musical intelligence. You just can't get any better.
There are a "lot of songs" out there with good beats, nice rhythms...etc...But a smaller amount of songs with truly "meaningful" lyrics...this is one of those songs...
Thank you to Mama Cass for singing so purely, with warm attention to the lyrics and flow of a song, not to herself. She could deliver genuine feeling and musical meaning, and could harmonize so very well too. We are grateful that she lived and sang to us with such grace and sweetness.
I was a small child when she was a performer but I remember being drawn to her. Her voice, smile, and spirit were warm and kind. She truly was a special and magical performer, and the world lost when she passed. But there's still a treasure trove of great music that she left behind.
Mama Cass absolutely saw the time in which I find myself living right this minute. She was a legend and one of the guideposts to a much more beautiful world.🌏💚🌎💚🌍
Beautiful!!! A 17year old listening to 'Mama' Cass, goes to show her voice is timeless. Why don't we have this positive, uplifting message now a days? So wish I had grown up in the era of Cass Elliot! :)
You kids are lucky because you're living in the age of this beautiful new world she's singing about right now and the best part is you are the ones who have helped make it happen.I'm grateful for you🙏🏻 🌍💚🌎💚🌏
Cass Elliott you were light, you were an enlightened person here on this face of the earth, you graced us, prestige us with your soft, beauty, gentle, exuberant, splendid, fabulous, extraordinary, and wonderfull voice!!!.
I just want the old days back the 1960s and 70s was an an amazing time to be around lots of great music and amazing singers like mamma cass and of course Karen carpenter , days never to be seen again
She was a wonderful person. Always happy and sweet. Nobody spoke badly of her and the tabloids couldn't touch her. The world lost a great one when she passed.
I remember hearing Cass Elliot singing when I was child. Such a beautiful voice and always cheerful when she was interviewed on T.V. To me she was a beautiful talented person -- and sadly we lost her way too soon.
@Mauricio Barbosa: its not Elliot Cass. It's Cass Elliot. Actually, her real name was Ellen Naomi Cohen, stage name Cass "Mama" Elliot. Wonderful voice & is much missed.
Beautiful voice. They thought the "Age of Aquarius" was around the corner, full of peace and love. If they could see what is really happening in this world today, I think they would be horrified, angry and sad. R.I.P. Mama Cass Elliott.❤
so right.. now the girl singers all sound the same really sickly like a machine.. hate the way they sound its just not a real voice ..so freaking fake .. Pet Clark and all the British girl singers had such style and clarity and sweetness in their voices
Ellen Naomi Cohen had the voice of an angel. Sadly, her, Mary Travers, and Karen Carpenter are no longer with us, however, they left us their wonderful music to enjoy for many years to come. Foe that, we owe them gratitude. Peace!!
One of my top 5 favorite female vocalists of all time. Was 12 years old in 1970. Truly amazing artist, heartfelt voice with incredible clarity and control; and seemingly effortless singing. I'm more than fortunate to have grown up when I did.
This is a GREAT song! It encapsulates the joy and hope for the future that we had back in the 60s even with all the troubles. It's a hope we need to reclaim. And what a voice Mama Cass had!
I long for that new world Mama Cass sings about. Here, people still hating though saying they are not. This group of people on earth lack so much in kindness toward each other. Wish all babies were fed around the world; elderly taken cared of; young people enjoying life and working; disease eradicated......
A true legend and amazing voice and stage presence! She’s been gone for almost 44 years and she’s still wowing everyone listening to her. She outshined every person in the Mamas and the Papas. People will always remember this beautiful woman!
I was born in 1967 but my aunt used to play her records when she babysat me. She had her Mammas and Pappas albums and I learned and sang only the parts that Cass Elliot sang because I loved her voice and I still only sing her parts to this day. Beautiful woman with a beautiful voice to match that left us way too soon.
One can really appreciate the music from the past, I lookk at this and I only wish we had stars like this again the gave the music industry some pazazz. Cass Elliot gavr alot to the industry and the insturmentation along with her voice was great. We just don't hear things like this anymore.
I just lost my dog of over 13 years and I am so lost without my companion. Because of him I found I still had the capacity and could still love again. When I was 15 years old I remember this song by the great Cass Elliott, I had to hear her sing this again.
Fantastic performance ..... I love her voice on so many levels singing so many positive songs, I always play her when I need a lift and she never lets me down ...... such power and yet a lovely effortless tonal quality .... love her ......
This was beautiful. If our chorus sings this at my graduation, I'll think of going. Because it will be a song about hope and love and visions of goodness to chase away our underlying pain.

That wasn't live.
And her sister Leah Kunkel also had a silky voice. Listen to her on Art Garfunkel’s Scissors Cut track or Livingston Taylor’s Loving Arms.
She was so beautiful. With the voice of an angel...

This wasn't a big hit (Billboard #43 in 1970), but it's a great song, it was sung beautifully by Mama Cass, and it's so powerful!
@@timothythorne9464 It was a top ten hit in Los Angeles. but somehow missed in other national markets.
JACK ANTHONY also Top 10 in my home town in 1970, which is on I-10 half way between LA and Jacksonville

I never heard her singing by herself. I heard this song on the radio in my car today, and I didn't' know who was singing.
PhenomenON! #singular
