  • ► The Mona Lisa, portrait painting by Leonardo da Vinci, between 1503 and 1506. For a more realistic viewing experience, the painting has been improved and animated using Photoshop and AI techniques.
► Learn who discovered Mona Lisa's identity! What would she look like today? Plus other historical facts…
► Hello everyone and welcome back to Mystery Scoop.
In today's video we're going to bring to life 'The Mona Lisa', often regarded as the world's most famous painting by Italian polymath, Leonardo da Vinci. But, first let's learn a few historical facts about the woman portrayed in this painting.
    - The painting was completed between 1503 and 1506 but it is believed Leonardo may have continued working on it as late as 1517. The mysterious smile of the Mona Lisa has captivated and inspired many writers, singers, and painters all over the world. Overtime it has become an icon of the Renaissance. Who was this woman?
    - The identity of this enigmatic woman was a subject of many speculations and remained unknown for centuries. However, by pure chance, a German historian working at the University Library of Heidelberg named Dr. Armin Schlechter uncovered a significant find while organising old manuscripts for an exhibition in early 2005. He discovered a margin note by Agostino Vespucci from October 1503 in a book that belongs to the library. The note identifies Lisa del Giocondo, the wife of a wealthy Florentine merchant, as Mona Lisa.
    - Lisa del Giocondo was an Italian noblewoman of the Gherardini family and she was married to Francesco del Giocondo, a successful silk merchant, whose family resided in Florence and Tuscany. It is believed that the painting was commissioned in 1503 for their new home and to celebrate the birth of their first son. Lisa went on to became a mother of five children and led what is thought to have been a comfortable and ordinary middle-class life. She outlived her husband, who was considerably her senior.
    - Leonardo's work on the Mona Lisa was most likely delayed when he was commissioned to complete more valuable work. Thus, he always considered the portrait unfinished. He was not paid for the work and did not deliver it to his client. Leonardo carried the portrait with him throughout his life. Leonardo spent his final three years in France, at the invitation of King Francis I, where he died in 1519. The painting was then acquired by Francis I and has been in the custody of France ever since. The Mona Lisa now hangs behind bulletproof glass in a gallery of the Louvre Museum in Paris, where it has been on display since 1804, or possibly even earlier.
    - Infamously, on August 21st, 1911, the painting was stolen from Louvre Museum. The culprit was Louvre employee Vincenzo Peruggia, an Italian patriot who believed that Leonardo's painting should have been returned to an Italian museum. He carried out the theft by entering the building during regular hours, hiding in a broom closet, and walking out with the painting hidden under his coat after the museum had closed. After having kept the Mona Lisa in his apartment for two years, Peruggia grew impatient and was caught when he attempted to sell it to Giovanni Poggi, director of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. It was exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery for over two weeks and returned to the Louvre on 4 January 1914. Peruggia served six months in prison for the crime and was hailed in Italy for his patriotism.

It's believed that the marriage between the then 15 year old Lisa Gherardini and the older previously ( possibly even twice before ) married Francesco del Giocondo who already had a son that Lisa reared as her own was surprisingly for the time based on love and resulted in her iconic painting. Her modest dowry of 170 florins which is only 94 dollars in todays money and the San Silvestro farm near her family's country home suggests her family though possessing a "old" and noble name was not wealthy and is taken as a sign that they married for love. The marriage might even have increased her social status as Francesco's family is thought to have been wealthy. What really says that the marriage was indeed a love match is that when he died Francesco's will stated "Given the affection and love of the testator towards Mona Lisa, his beloved wife; in consideration of the fact that Lisa has always acted with a noble spirit and as a faithful wife; wishing that she shall have all she needs…". The will then returned her dowry to her and made provisions for her future care. The obvious conclusion from this is that Lisa was a good woman and wife who was deeply loved by her husband which resulted in him commissioning the famous painting from Leonardo Di Vinci to honor her.

I thought that also because so many women throughout history had lived sad, short and or tortured lives. A lot of times because they had no or little control or say about what would happen to them throughout their lives. Glad Lisa lived a good one.

One theory I have read, is that Leonardo realized while he was painting the portrait, that the woman looked like his mother, and, as has been noted for some time, also looked somewhat like Leonardo himself. So, he arranged to keep the Louvre painting himself, and the Prado picture or the Isleworth one was delivered to the lady's husband. Over several years then, according to the theory, he tried to get the painting to look like an idealized painting of his mother. As far as I know, there is no verifiable portrait of his mother, who, of course was not married to his father. I was hoping this animation would show the lady in profile, something I have tried to do, and haven't been able to do as a convincing colored pencil drawing.

Very interesting. Lisa may not have looked exactly as she appears in the painting though. Da Vinci took years to paint it,, and likely was still working on it when he lived in France in his later years. Likely he was painting her from memory...

Easy it was me, 🎁Truth in plain sight! Leonardo DaVinci Paintings
🦁If you calculate this year 2022 minus the year the 1st Mona Lisa died 1542=480 years, the same amount of time from Exodus to the rebuild of the new temple in the Bible. The 2nd Mona Lisa is the Bride of Christ, Queen of Heaven, Sophia, Mother, Wisdom, Daughter Zion, Elisa -Elijah , key of David, Sophia, Ephraim, Elijah, Archangel Ariel, Lilith the first, Joan of Arc, Joseph and the colourful coat, The Female Christ - The Mona Lisa 2nd -Lord, Queen of Queens
🦁the initials in her eye is her name initials
🦁the V & 5 sceneries are the 5 places the 2nd Lisa has lived in after marriage. 🦁The 12 pins firstly in a shape of a cup represents her surname
🦁secondly around her head in X-ray represents 12 stars just like in Revelation the woman with 12 stars signifying her holiness.
🦁The right hand over the left signifies she is the right hand of God.
🦁The number under the bridge 75 is the year son of God was born in human form & the year she was snatched away Revelation 12:5
🦁His other paintings link the Mona Lisa to them as well, the crab sketch represents her star sign Cancer.
🦁The ferret and lady represents what the 2nd Mona Lisa was called as a child.
🦁Portrait of a woman represents her eldest daughter. Her youngest daughter is painted as saint Anne(True Royal Bloodline)
🦁The last Supper shows a chalice cup is her surname.
🦁The twist in her fabric on her shoulder represents Gods humour & twist to the biblical story, savior is female this time. ❤️
