Reading is pronounced like Redding, not reading. There used to be a little picnic area in the woods where you could get off, have a picnic, and get a ride back on a future ride. It was really cute!
Wonderful footage of a national treasure. Really interesting how much the conductor must work to align the couplers correctly before joining the train. BTW while ex-CN #89 is handling steam duties at Strasburg right now, I saw #90 in the shops getting a light overhaul. With luck #90 will be ready to steam again by December 2024.
This is why your channel is always my favourite, so much variety. I love this video, the train was amazing and you showed the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside. Great work guys x
I have been to the Strasburg Railroad back when I was kid and later in September 5th 2021 for their visiting locomotive, Norfolk & Western 611 (a class J built by the Norfolk & Western’s Roanoke Shops in 1950). Along with Norfolk & Western 475 (a class M 4-8-0 “Mastodon” built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1906, that was famous for it’s appearance in Thomas and the Magic Railroad came from the year 2000). Also this locomotive in the video is Great Western 90 (a 2-10-0 “Decapod” built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1924). I am going to return back towards the Strasburg Railroad later this month for their Day out with Thomas event with the Strasburg Railroad Thomas the Tank Engine (A.K.A Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal #15).
that was a nice train ride, pastor Dan had told us about this train, but I did not know it went backwards, I've never been on a train going backwards lol
Fascinating!! I rode a train in the Ohio Amish country and i loved it!!! (Millersburg, Sugar Creek area) The narration during the trip was very informative. I really enjoyed it!!
Will and Dawn Good video. It is good that you are now narrating your videos. Most of us have never been to these places. So it makes us feel that we are there with yall, I know it is a pain . But just watching and not hearing the narrating can be boring. A nother suggestion is in this particular video is first approach a couple and identify yourselves as content creators and that you have two or three questions for them. If they don't want to be on camera just point camera out the window and we can hear the audio of Q/A. Afterwards thank them and give them your card if you have any of your extra post cards give them one. Most likely they will tune into your channel. Use these trips to promote your channel and get your subscribers up.
Enjoying all of your road trip videos. The Amish country is beautiful, lots of places to visit, eat, and shop. The train ride was cool, fun. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful train, that must have been a nice little trip, must have been a great experience. That for sure looked like some magnificent country side. This just looked very peaceful. Thanks for sharing!
Since I grew up in the Washington DC area it was an easy drive to visit the Amish country and Hershey. I have ridden on the train a few times. It is a very relaxing ride.
Welcome to Pennsylvania. From a local that lives near the city of Reading and visits the strasburg railroad all the time. Reading is pronounced here as Red-ing
So glad that you took this train ride! It really is beautiful country and the cars are absolutely beautiful! That train station is a nice place to visit.
This looks like a lot of fun! I did not even realize this was so close to where I live. A few years ago I took a scenic train ride on the steam engine from the Arcade and Attica Railroad just south of Buffalo, New York. Same idea. I had an absolute blast.
We rode this train about 30 years ago. It was very enjoyable. We rode first class. If you really want an experience ride the Durango Silverton Railroad in Colorado.
What a nice train ride!! I've been talking about taking my 4 year old granddaughter on a ride. Hopefully I can take her this year. Thank you for the video
The Western Maryland car likely pays homage to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad that runs out of Cumberland, MD. It still runs today. Gobblers Knob is a tribute to Punxsutawney Phil, the "famous" spring weather-predicting groundhog. I always wanted to ride the Strasburg Railroad!
Car 105, Western Maryland has nothing to do with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Its an old Western Maryland Railroad car. Has no relation with each other.
just a little fyi they used a engine and some of the cars in the movie hello dolly in fact they use to tell you carol Channing sat on every seat so you could say you sat in the same seat as her.glad you enjoyed your trip to my home state
We did this twice, once for Christmas dinner, yum and the other one was a train robber excursion. It's about 45.min from me, visit the train museum too. Make sure you get to WV, Elkins to do their train rides.
Will and Dwn. That was a great video. You got wonderful footage of the engine and the train as well as the beautiful Lancaster County countryside. I really enjoyed enjoyed it. I felt like I was riding along with you. Very well done. Loved it!

Thier is a Train Ride out of Middletown pa. (Milk & Honey.) Me and My Girlfriend went on that and they did a Civil war theme and it was Great to see it done.
Fantastic ride great show at the station loved every minute
Such a nice countryside and nice train ride! Thanks for sharing!
We just got back from Cass West Virginia. You can pick the 2 hour ride or the 4 hour ride. It was so pretty riding up the mountain on a steam train.
I want to Strasburg for my brother’s birthday May 2024 on a Saturday the 25th. The next day was his birthday and it was really fun.
Y'all I did this a LOT as a kid when I'd go with my family to see my great grandmother! Such memories!!!!
Well I was certainly “All Aboard “ this video. Great job! Keep them coming!🚂
Nice train ride with awesome scenery!! Thanks for sharing.

There still is, it's called Groff's Grove. They pass it at 20:12.
Love it! Always loved the train whistle and the sound of the tracks. Beautiful scenery. The Amish are amazing
