    This museum has a beautiful display inside and out. Definitely worth the time to go there and see some if the finest railroad equipment anywhere. They've done a wonderful job and should be proud of all the work they put into their establishment.

    This museum has such a nice collection both inside and out. I need to come back without my camera so I can truly enjoy it. I'm in the same boat with deciding if I'm showing too much or not enough and I still do the umms and uhhs. Guess it makes us human haha. Thanks for the compliment again on the Laurel Run video, I'm really proud of that one.

    The Railroad Museum pf Pennsylvania has 28 steam locomotives, which I believe is the largest steam collection in the world, but definitely the US. I use to be a volunteer there, before I moved to Florida. At 19:34 that is an E7 passenger diesel (EP20 in PRR parlance), which pulled the Broadway Limited to and from Chicago.

    Hey great video! Dont beat yourself up trying to be perfect. It was an enjoyable watch. Looked like a really fun place. Heres a little modeling hint: sometimes u can mix scales! Put HO stuff in the foreground and N scale farther back to help with the illusion of distance. Forced perspective its called. If u ever decide to make that trip west to see the UP big boy stop by the chicago area (thats where I've lived my entire life) and check out the Illinois Railway Museum in Union. Make sure its nice weather though. Alot of outside activities. Anyway great post again! Good luck on ur layout (ive got one myself😁) and happy railfanning!🚂🚋🚅🚝

    A really nice museum and an interesting video. Fun facts about the EMD F-unit. This line of diesel-electric locomotives got an offshoot here in Europe in the form of, for example, the Norwegian Di 3 locomotive with 1750 HP which was based on the EMD F7. Two of the Di 3 locomotives are still used on the Ofotbanen (Ofoten Line), which is used for ore transport and runs between Narvik in Norway and Kiruna in Sweden. The track is located at 68 degrees north and thus approximately at the same latitude as Prudhoe Bay in the far north of Alaska.

    • @wezza60
      @wezza60 Год назад +1

      That is actually an E7 EMD locomotive.

    • @Hvitserk67
      @Hvitserk67 Год назад

      @@wezza60 Thanks. I became aware of this when I read the comments after adding the post. I thought that it is understandable that one can be wrong (including me) in that the design difference is not great. On the other hand, it is important to know this in that, as far as I understand, the locomotive in question is the only one remaining of the EMD E7.

    Wonderful video. I have been to the museum years ago. There were no interactive displays, no signage, and you were able to climb onto the equipment. And yes we (my mom & dad, and spouse) went to the Strasburg Railroad. My dad was so cheap he would not pay the extra $0.25 to ride in the open car. I guess I will need to return to the museum.

    Very nice. I've been to the Strasburg Railroad and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania many times (my grandmother lived out in Lancaster County), and credit them (as well as a certain blue tank engine) with instilling a deep passion for trains and railroads within me. Additionally, I believe one can get combo tickets for both the railroad and the museum so you can ride the train, then go across the street and look at more trains.

    The next time you back back definitely go out to the RR Museum outdoor rail yard. Out in the rail yard they currently have the Norfolk and Western 611 Locomotive on loan for display before it heads back for runs, hopefully over at the Strasburg RR like they did last season. It's an impressive beast to get up close and personal with. It's also worth mentioning that the Railroad Museum of PA does allow tripod usage for still photographers which is great since some areas of the museum, particularly the western end, are super dark.
