Azure Triedge which will be a bigger middle finger to Night Elf...no all Elven lore. I like Malfurion but hate Tyrande but I always wanted her to be the one to kill Azshara. The fact that most likely none of the big named Elf characters won't be part of the raid makes me sick. Instead of all elves banding together to kill Azshara the lady most responsible for screwing over the Elves (Give or take,may vary)....we get a poorly written faction war.
And even if he had his moment during Legion, let's also bring Farondis and the elves of the broken iles Not to mention the shal'dorei for the Horde perspective with Thalysra and her company

From that datamined text, it suggests that Xal is in fact an old god who was put in that blade by N'zoth as punishment for something, and that after the player is tricked into freeing her into a new body, she leaves Azeroth to explore the cosmos for more power. She only leaves us alive as a courtesy for freeing her, but straight up says she'll kill us if our paths cross again.

Honestly for how much she's killed and destroyed to put off her dying, Sylvanas dying terrified and being second fiddle to something greater is fitting. Reborn a minion of Arthas begging for a clean death, dying a minion of the Old Gods trying to put dying off.
@@SamuraiMorshu I feel like at this point, a majority of the Alliance would become second fiddle to the Old Gods before Sylvanas does. Hell, you could argue they've set that up with Alleria and the Void Elves. It's a disaster that's just waiting to happen and would honestly be stupid to have nothing happen with that.
The more I think about it, the more I'm seeing Sylvanas as not a Garrosh 2.0, but as a Lich King 2.0. Granted, yes, similarities to Garrosh and Syvanas can be made, but it feels like she has more in common with Arthas. She's committed many of the same crimes he has, and many have mirrored the actions of Arthas as well. You could compare the Burning of Teldrassil to the Fall of Quel'Thalas; both were massively devastating to the affected race of elves; both saw the leaders of the resistance killed and made to suffer ether as they died or after death. Hell, Delaryn Summermoon is going to be an undead in the next patch and serve the very person that killed her. An argument could even be made that Sylvanas had her own Culling of Stratholme in Before the Storm during the Gathering. Instead of killing her people because of some plague tainted grain, she killed them because to her, they were tainted with hope and not angry and bitter like her. I could be 100% off base with this, and stretching some of the points, but it just feels like Blizz is showing and making parallels between the two characters. It's also just fun to mull over and think about, and to see her become the one thing she hates more than anything. Just something I've been thinking about. Feel free to correct me if I have missed something or there are some errors.
Isn't the passage where she kills her own people "Hope is a disease that needs to be snuffed out" or something akin to that. Similar to how arthas rationalized the culling

Lol Oh, another thing I realized is, she could even have her own Frostmourne in etherthe Blight or in azerite, but I feel this might be me reaching at this point. I mean, she's developed the Blight as a means to protect her people, or Azarite to protect the Horde, like how Arthas justified using Frostmourne to save his people. Again, I don't feel as strongly on this part, but it just kind of popped into my head.
Guys, this is a trap. Anduin is gonna be tempted while Sylvanas was able to resist. Saurfang is going to be convicted for treason but will be forgiven. Anduin slowly turning into Lich King and betrays Saurfang. New enemies arrived in Azeroth as both Horde and Alliance fought them, separately. Voljin's vision was right about her and did not die for nothing.
I really like the idea of Xal'atath's empty blade becoming a tool for imprisoning *something*, since it fits with Sylvanas' style so far - trying to get too much power in just her hands, only to have it destroyed (or probably stolen and turned against her).

The interesting thing about Sylvanas with Xal'Atath, is that The Void considers Sylvanas to be an enemy, and a dangerous one at that (remember the Whispers that Alleria had when they met in the Windrunner comic?). It begs the question of how she has Xal'Atath, and why she/it chose Sylvanas. Edit: Nevermind, you do mention that in the video... I forgot.
Xal'atath is dormant or empty, it has the power to contain Void entities. Alleria is a Void entity that wants to kill Sylvanas. The math says that the blade is a good way to off Alleria.

Catknight Alexander people already complain Sylvanas’s story is due to bad writing, although everything she has done is actually something she’d do. Something she wouldn’t do.... is risk her life or undeath to save anyone, even her sister.

Here's my theory. Alleria heard voices from the void to kill Sylvanas (we saw that in a short comic) because the void itself is scared. Like that biatch Slyvanas is so cunning she has plans to abuse the void itself, that's why she's gonna grab that Blade of the Black Empire and use it to wreck Alliance, Azshara and N'zoth.
And if instead she’s an emotionless train wreck of a reanimated corpse that uses betrayal and biological weapons to perpetuate the raising of undead to kill more people to raises as said undead.... both can be true and still *morally grey.*

Just look at this expansion: Horde has literally no OP guys left - everyone left is either a warrior or a hunter which is like meh. The only OP leader is Sylvanas with that banshee stuff and Thrall who's gone. Meanwhile, Alliance has fucking everything: druids, night warriors (WTF is that), priests, paladins, mages with a fucking flying ship. If Blizzard had any semblence of power level comparisson, they wouldn't have made this expansion - so, mark my words, Sylvanas could pull off some crazy shit against Azshara and N'zoth.
The part of the video where you mentioned this weapon/character, Xal'atath made me think of a similar character from the Soul fighting game series. Soul Edge is a magical,evil weapon that seeks to find a strong host to corrupt in order to find obtain fragments of the weapon,to restore Soul Edge to full power. It also promises the host power while corrupting the mind and even body of the user ( kinda like the Arthas+Frostmourne = badass villain ,except that kind of thing had already happened before ,all the way back in 1995 with Siegfried+Soul Edge = badass villain ) Perhaps Xal'atath seeks to help unseal an Old God and his plan to do so involves having a capable host. Okay, so I might go on a wild ride here, but since the "blade of the black empire" is landing in sylvanas' hands by some means, that probably means that she has plans with it. Do we know what exactly this blade is capable of? Well, for one, we know that the blade can apparently talk to N'Zoth within his prison. And we know that it might be one of the 5 torches to light the path of the old gods. Is that to say that at some point Sylvanas, possibly with our help will retrieve all torches and lead the way to the black empire, or whatever is left of it, to fight N'Zoth? And going with the idea of the trial of the crusader style of finding out who may be worthy to face this threat, which might be her ultimate plan behind pushing the war between the factions. "We forgot what makes us strong." Those are her thoughts/words in the bfa trailer. War makes us strong, so she goes for war. But it might ultimately be to win against an enemy that isn't the other faction. Something way worse, specially with our planet in such a dangerous state. Maybe that is how she leaves the horde, to lead the charge against the void(that fears her as the end of all possibilities), putting someone else in her place. And in the next expansion she might come back as the glorious and beloved queen of the forsaken. Anybody got thoughts on this?
Anyone else notice how the Jinyu being Murlocs that lived close to the waters of the Vale of Eternity mirrors how the Elves were Trolls that lived close to the waters of the Well of Eternity and evolved? Really it means that if they are ever added as an Allied Race you could make them like the Pandaren and give them the choice to be Alliance or Horde depending on which group of Elves they want to go with, because both Night Elves and Blood Elves are the descendants of Trolls. Pure speculation on my part... I still want Hozen Allied Race for the Horde though.
Give Garrosh credit, he mastered all of his vices and conquered the Heart of an Old God to fulfill his aims but when it was time to pay his dues Hellscream didn't hesitate. Sylvanas meanwhile I could *very* easily see selling anyone and anything out to stay alive, no matter the price to pay might be. Lok'tar Ogar; Victory, or Death indeed.
I prefer to say "mutated" frankly. So long as two races exist in the same age, they aren't more evolved than the other. Only races that exist after others have gone extinct are more evolved, and so far, that's not the case for any race on Azeroth.
Mr. Bern mutated sounds more Frankenstein/Mr.hyde kind of transformation........ the only reason I say evolved is because the naga came from the highborne who we were told evolved from trolls (with a pinch of elunes magic) and there’s also a joke that the male trolls say about the elves evolving from them which is amusing to say the least
You ask me, I don't want Sylvanas to die, simply because I want to see some redemption. Not redemption in the sense of she becomes a lawful good character or something, no redemption in the sense that she doesn't look like some linear villain anymore. She's never been a hero, but I don't want her to be some predicable linear character. Not to mention, I believe killing her would be as much of a waste and shame as killing Vol'Jin was, but for different reasons.
Depends how you define a hero. Sylvanas gave her life for protection of her homeland that itself could be found heroic. She got one of the worst fates in terms of warcraft lore. I absolutely get why she is the way she is right now.
I think the undead do not value honor because there is no honor in there very existence. They are beings trapped between life and death that were forced to commit countless atrocities. And even after regaining free will they were outcast by their own people “ The Alliance”. After all that I understand why Sylvannas said Honor means nothing to the dead
I am glad that Blizzard has a more in-depth story about the naga. I believe that there is more to Sylvanas, but I just don't want to be disappointed with her story
Could be she wishes the void not control her sister anymore...I mean xalatah can draw the void from a corrupted naaru without consuming it why not rip the void from an elf and save her from being the old god's pawn? Has nobody considered this? Even though yes Sylvanas is a banshee, she's undead she's done horrible things... deep down she still cares about her sisters in some degree. If anything it would take a whole lot of power from the alliance and put things ever more in her favor so no reason she wouldn't try doing what shadow priests did to a dark naaru in Legion..to Alleria

What if.... Xal'atah broke free of the blade, took over Sylvanas body and hide Sylvanas' soul inside the blade, acting as Sylvanas, warchief of the Horde? Maybe even acting.. right now?
I honestly would wanna see a sort of “war is pointless and here’s why” kind of story. They really focused on splitting the player base, even the ads focused on that. BoT, SoL, now Saurfang being free, and yet there is a looming threat. If anything, Blizz is really good at stirring emotions in it’s player base, so it could fit :P
Wouldn't be surprised if the whispers Voljin heard for sylvannas were from an old God posing as loa, which would probably not work against a strong shadow hunter but he was a death's door so there's that
I have a crackpot theory regarding Naz'jatar. One of the big questions that has been hanging over the Horde story is "Where is Thrall?". He was originally supposed to appear in 8.0 according to the original BfA announcement, but that never materialized. However we shouldn't take this as evidence that Thrall will never appear, especially since it may been at least partially due to Metzen being unavailable for most of BfA's development due to spinal surgery (he did record a few Varian lines for the Jaina scenario though). The last place we saw Thrall? In the Doomhammer artifact questline, where he was in Deepholme after losing most of his connection to the elements. The entrance to Deepholme? The Maelstrom. Right in the middle of the Great Sea and not that far from Nazjatar. My theory is that he's been a prisoner of Azshara the entire time. As one of the most powerful sorceresses on Azeroth, Azshara would have no trouble holding a depowered Thrall. Beyond that there's a lot of ways for the story to play out. He could break out early in the story and ensure that the Horde expedition isn't completely wiped out. He may of even broken out before we even show up and is responsible for the Gilblins and Co running around. Alternatively he might not break out until we finish the Azshara fight in the Eternal Palace raid.
She'll probably be integral for the Old Gods getting another leg up. Or maybe just N'zoth. My bet is she'll die horribly and the next expansion is going to look like the Black Empire
I do lover her lore. She is neither for the light nor the void. She knows about the old gods and she did a lot of stuff to safe the world. The lich King was personal but then the legion came and she really tried to safe vol'jin. Also she knowy the blood elves and the humans have their arrogance going on although her people showed the humans how to use magic they did not safe them when it was needed and later the alliance still tries to be the main power. She has not tried to assault the horde and was realible to the horde forces. The horde has done so much good to this point and the alliance still demands that things happen to their will instead of finding a solution for both sides. Of course Sylvana's is looking for every possible advantage.
What about humanization of Sylvanass in the short story "edge of the night" when she ENDED thinking about her people like arrows in her quiver and etc... She always was like this? What about her meeting with Vereesa? We got bits of her being humanized and then all of that scrapped?
the only thing different about sylvanas now compared to a while back is that she is now in the lead and she doesnt have to work towards her goals in secret with the blight and wrath gate for example she had to lie about the fact that she gave the order to produce the blight. but now she is the top dog of the horde and she can do what she wants. so it APPEARS she is going of the rails but in reality shes just comming out of hiding
I hope Sylvannas' actions are purely driven towards drawing out a villain from the Shadowlands which leads us to the next expansion. I want to see Sylvannas not make apologies for her actions, but disappear with an undead faction to fight a hidden threat in the Shadowlands.
saurfang and sylvanas are both such sick characters and part of the reason why i choose to play horde when i started playing. The annoying part is although sylvanas is in my top 5 favorite characters the way things been going even for a bit of a fanboy as myself its becoming a bit harder to keep following her, but not having all the answers to what will happen with her is making it so hard for me to pick who to follow in BFA. I love how theyre making me cling on to the story likes theres no tomorrow but i also feel like for now were getting a garrosh 2.0 and thats why i also think blizz dickrides alliance a bit which is fine im not one of those hardcore one sided people i want to see everything from both sides although i main horde but im really reluctant to pick a side right now.
I just rewatched "Warbringers: Azshara" and I noticed that Azshara was seemingly talking at 2 points of the video as if she knew that she was dealing with N'zoth or at least an old god. Is there anything in the lore that indicates that the old Nightelves knew of the old gods?

Hjoldahr M old gods are nothing compared to Titans and putting sargearas and archimond in one bracket is weird because archimond doesn’t hold a candle in terms of strength to the weakest Titan I bet they meant someone only at the level of archimond can defeat her or like kil’jaden.
Timelost just a question, but how is Sargeras the weakest if he is said to be the best warrior of the titans, with Aggramar in second. It also took all the remaining non-corrupted titans to imprison Sargeras (which honestly could just be so it was non-lethal)

Sylvanas may be that magnificent bastard that will do what's necessary to end the threat in a way that everyone will hate her for it. A good old "she saved us, but at what price?" would be a nice change from Garrosh's more egocentric goals.
Can someone explain to me as to why Lady Vashj started following Illidan in TFT? Weren't Naga minions of N'zoth during that time? Why join Illidan when he was clearly trying to help the Burning Legion? Thank you in advance.
@@Robin...222 Illidan was not a bad guy, at least not wholly. He was always fighting the Legion from the inside (whenever he was inside) and always had motives other than selfishness. As for Vashj joining the Illidari, I believe it might have to do with Vashj herself, who wanted to defect from Azshara without being completely outright betrayal to avoid her wrath.
To be honest, it was never made clear as to why Vashj joined up with illidan. The common theory, is that when he summoned the Naga from the depths, Azshara sent Vashj, who was her most loyal handmaiden, to lead them and aid him, in an attempt to defeat the demons and further their plans.

Sylvanas was all cruel and cunning, with plausible deniability. The writing in BfA has been so bad. Instead of characters set in a storyline, Blizzard is now all about visual moments forcing events to happen.

The perfect idea for both slyvanas lovers and the horde slyvanas will head back to the icecrown take head of bolvar and claim the throne as lich queen. There was always be a lich king-queen after all. That way she cannot be killed and we can live wrath of the lich queen again or can save the banshee queen that way.
I feel like HUGE plot twist await us all with Sylvannas actions. She is too enigmatic to end a raid boss and her character is not completely developed yet. She speak like she knows something more.
If they can make Jaina a raid boss they can make Sylvanas a raid boss. Not that I think they will - I think she will somehow regain what she lost when Arthas killed her - hope - and in the end save us. What will happen to her when she does, my thought is she will change in character if not in form.
Sylvannas committed suicide by falling onto one of Icecrown's spikes, yes? And Icecrown is made of Saronite, the black blood of Yogg-Saron, right? The way I figure it, the best solution here probably IS to make her into a raid boss, or a scenario boss or world event or something. Maybe we could make her see that she's being Yogg-Saron's bitch and she can do that typical redemption thing Blizzard likes to do a lot. She's done some pretty irreparable stuff though, so while she doesn't have to die, she DOES have to be punished. Maybe she could be put into exile, or maybe she's put in a position where she doesn't have anymore power or something. It's probably not the best solution, but it's the best way I can think of to meet a compromise. Oh and Garrosh did nothing wrong.
One of the reasons the Lich King had the citadel built from the stuff was that the Undead are unaffected by Old God corruption. It's the same reason the Void is terrified of Sylvanas. Undead are resistant to corruption.
It still takes more than just one interaction with saronite for an undead to be corrupted by the metal. They are resistant to the old god whispering, but over a decent amount of time, become affected by it. If Sylvanas was still alive when she killed herself, that theory would 100% have some merit to it, but she is undead and there for resistant to the old gods. Besides, how the Void reacted to her shows she's not being manipulated by them or any of their creations such as Yogg.
DISTurbedwaffle918 the key word is “resistant”, they are not in any way immune, and can be effected by the old gods. As another commenter states, the ghouls mining saronite for the citadel have been corrupted and influenced, as they can be heard calling you-sarron’s name.

I still feel 2 main characters will die.... Not ones that would really cause an uproar but one's still powerful enough that would cause us to go "oh shit..." Nathanos is my first, He's had wayyy to much time in the spot light of late to Warrent his time as a horde leader, His dead could be a cause of sacrifice for sylvanas or just generaly an honorable death but his death and the "love" rumours between him and sylvanas would make sense if its to push her to do more terrible things. My second is Genn... Now I pick Genn because he's liked but alliance know he's a bit of a snake and a puppet master of andiun in some fashion,. He would as we all know sacrifice Andiun for one clean kill shot on sylvanas and that's where I think his downfall could be. Because he's driven my revenge he would sacrifice his rank... His honor and his nation if it meant he could get his clawns into Sylvanas. I think using those two character wouldn't be as impactful as losing vol'jin and Varian but also just enough that it would sate either faction for not losing or winning. I also feel like if they are to make this worth while and not a Garrosh story the horde and sylvanas need to win... Technically speaking, I think if it comes down to it the alliance and drawn to the back foot and maybe even been sieged in storm wind... Now I don't believe that's what should happen because it would be really really hard for them to write in a story directive but maybe the only way Andiun can win at this point is if that's how saurfang comes into play... He could flank the horde putting them off guard and into a retreat. I know this directive may not be for everyone but I would find these paths pretty cool.
They could have Sylvanas take Azhara’s place as N’zoth’s chief lieutenant. Lor’themar takes over the Horde, and Bwonsamdi helps the Horde fight back N’zoth. Meanwhile, Taelia and Calia convince the Lich King to help the Alliance fight N’zoth. Afrasiabi is not correct: it is out of character. Burning Teldrassil was stupid. Sylvanas was always the smart one. As far as I’m concerned, her character is destroyed beyond repair unless they give further explanation for Teldrassil. And no, I’m not mad because I play Tauren. Tauren have no special concern for Teldrassil since it was planted by Fandral Staghelm against the advice of Shan’do Stormrage and Hamuul Runetotem. I’m mad because Sylvanas Windrunner is smarter than that. Ordering the Wrathgate would have been smart but it still would be out of character for her because she always believed in sticking with your allies. But, she had the excuse of being suicidal back then. Now she wants to live. If you would like to live, and for whatever reason you must commit genocide, then you can’t half-ass it! Right now Nathanos’ forces have a chance, but if Jarod Shadowsong ever shows up they’re toast. She could have played it so he’d show up to find Tyrande and Malfurion swinging from Teldrassil’s branches. He would have had to resort to some extreme shit like recruiting quilboar and furbolgs. But no, Sylvanas Windrunner has no impulse control now, for unexplained reasons.
Agree...she is smarter than that...and she can't just be provoke by some dying elf words for hope. I think she is planning something bigger. There is absolutely no use of burning Teldrassil just to take hope away and kill so much innocents. There is more. She want to piss everyone off...not just the Alliance but the Horde and the neutral also. And she really did. Out of the rage ad the hatred her character is really enigmatic. She speaks with mystery. It well be interesting to see what the end of BFA holds.
Rin0Kaka but the question is: does Blizzard know that? And when is that explanation going to come? Are we going to wait ten years after we’ve killed her in BfA’s last raid to find out like we did with Illidan? Or have they learned that if a character’s actions have a nuanced explanation, it’s probably a good idea to make that public sometime before people pin their sense of identity on the character having malicious motivations.
In terms of killing major characters, be careful what you wish for. If they kill off your most hated character today you may well find that they are killing off your favorite character tomorrow. I'd be fine with no major character deaths in this expansion.

The fact that most likely none of the big named Elf characters won't be part of the raid makes me sick. Instead of all elves banding together to kill Azshara the lady most responsible for screwing over the Elves (Give or take,may vary)....we get a poorly written faction war.

From that datamined text, it suggests that Xal is in fact an old god who was put in that blade by N'zoth as punishment for something, and that after the player is tricked into freeing her into a new body, she leaves Azeroth to explore the cosmos for more power. She only leaves us alive as a courtesy for freeing her, but straight up says she'll kill us if our paths cross again.

Sylvanas’s whole character is to big for her to perish like nothing.
Honestly for how much she's killed and destroyed to put off her dying, Sylvanas dying terrified and being second fiddle to something greater is fitting. Reborn a minion of Arthas begging for a clean death, dying a minion of the Old Gods trying to put dying off.
@@SamuraiMorshu I feel like at this point, a majority of the Alliance would become second fiddle to the Old Gods before Sylvanas does. Hell, you could argue they've set that up with Alleria and the Void Elves. It's a disaster that's just waiting to happen and would honestly be stupid to have nothing happen with that.

The more I think about it, the more I'm seeing Sylvanas as not a Garrosh 2.0, but as a Lich King 2.0. Granted, yes, similarities to Garrosh and Syvanas can be made, but it feels like she has more in common with Arthas. She's committed many of the same crimes he has, and many have mirrored the actions of Arthas as well. You could compare the Burning of Teldrassil to the Fall of Quel'Thalas; both were massively devastating to the affected race of elves; both saw the leaders of the resistance killed and made to suffer ether as they died or after death. Hell, Delaryn Summermoon is going to be an undead in the next patch and serve the very person that killed her.
An argument could even be made that Sylvanas had her own Culling of Stratholme in Before the Storm during the Gathering. Instead of killing her people because of some plague tainted grain, she killed them because to her, they were tainted with hope and not angry and bitter like her. I could be 100% off base with this, and stretching some of the points, but it just feels like Blizz is showing and making parallels between the two characters. It's also just fun to mull over and think about, and to see her become the one thing she hates more than anything. Just something I've been thinking about. Feel free to correct me if I have missed something or there are some errors.

Oh, another thing I realized is, she could even have her own Frostmourne in etherthe Blight or in azerite, but I feel this might be me reaching at this point. I mean, she's developed the Blight as a means to protect her people, or Azarite to protect the Horde, like how Arthas justified using Frostmourne to save his people. Again, I don't feel as strongly on this part, but it just kind of popped into my head.
Guys, this is a trap. Anduin is gonna be tempted while Sylvanas was able to resist. Saurfang is going to be convicted for treason but will be forgiven. Anduin slowly turning into Lich King and betrays Saurfang. New enemies arrived in Azeroth as both Horde and Alliance fought them, separately. Voljin's vision was right about her and did not die for nothing.

I really like the idea of Xal'atath's empty blade becoming a tool for imprisoning *something*, since it fits with Sylvanas' style so far - trying to get too much power in just her hands, only to have it destroyed (or probably stolen and turned against her).

The interesting thing about Sylvanas with Xal'Atath, is that The Void considers Sylvanas to be an enemy, and a dangerous one at that (remember the Whispers that Alleria had when they met in the Windrunner comic?). It begs the question of how she has Xal'Atath, and why she/it chose Sylvanas.

Xal'atath is dormant or empty, it has the power to contain Void entities. Alleria is a Void entity that wants to kill Sylvanas. The math says that the blade is a good way to off Alleria.

Here's my theory. Alleria heard voices from the void to kill Sylvanas (we saw that in a short comic) because the void itself is scared. Like that biatch Slyvanas is so cunning she has plans to abuse the void itself, that's why she's gonna grab that Blade of the Black Empire and use it to wreck Alliance, Azshara and N'zoth.
And if instead she’s an emotionless train wreck of a reanimated corpse that uses betrayal and biological weapons to perpetuate the raising of undead to kill more people to raises as said undead.... both can be true and still *morally grey.*

Just look at this expansion: Horde has literally no OP guys left - everyone left is either a warrior or a hunter which is like meh. The only OP leader is Sylvanas with that banshee stuff and Thrall who's gone. Meanwhile, Alliance has fucking everything: druids, night warriors (WTF is that), priests, paladins, mages with a fucking flying ship. The part of the video where you mentioned this weapon/character, Xal'atath made me think of a similar character from the Soul fighting game series. Soul Edge is a magical,evil weapon that seeks to find a strong host to corrupt in order to find obtain fragments of the weapon,to restore Soul Edge to full power. It also promises the host power while corrupting the mind and even body of the user ( kinda like the Arthas+Frostmourne = badass villain ,except that kind of thing had already happened before ,all the way back in 1995 with Siegfried+Soul Edge = badass villain ) Perhaps Xal'atath seeks to help unseal an Old God and his plan to do so involves having a capable host. Okay, so I might go on a wild ride here, but since the "blade of the black empire" is landing in sylvanas' hands by some means, that probably means that she has plans with it. Do we know what exactly this blade is capable of? Well, for one, we know that the blade can apparently talk to N'Zoth within his prison. And we know that it might be one of the 5 torches to light the path of the old gods. Is that to say that at some point Sylvanas, possibly with our help will retrieve all torches and lead the way to the black empire, or whatever is left of it, to fight N'Zoth? And going with the idea of the trial of the crusader style of finding out who may be worthy to face this threat, which might be her ultimate plan behind pushing the war between the factions. "We forgot what makes us strong." Those are her thoughts/words in the bfa trailer. War makes us strong, so she goes for war. But it might ultimately be to win against an enemy that isn't the other faction. Something way worse, specially with our planet in such a dangerous state. Maybe that is how she leaves the horde, to lead the charge against the void(that fears her as the end of all possibilities), putting someone else in her place. And in the next expansion she might come back as the glorious and beloved queen of the forsaken. Anybody got thoughts on this?
Anyone else notice how the Jinyu being Murlocs that lived close to the waters of the Vale of Eternity mirrors how the Elves were Trolls that lived close to the waters of the Well of Eternity and evolved? Really it means that if they are ever added as an Allied Race you could make them like the Pandaren and give them the choice to be Alliance or Horde depending on which group of Elves they want to go with, because both Night Elves and Blood Elves are the descendants of Trolls. Pure speculation on my part... I still want Hozen Allied Race for the Horde though.
Maybe N'zoth kept the Naga magic addiction so N'Zoth could be their magic crack dealer and hold that over them.
Give Garrosh credit, he mastered all of his vices and conquered the Heart of an Old God to fulfill his aims but when it was time to pay his dues Hellscream didn't hesitate. Sylvanas meanwhile I could *very* easily see selling anyone and anything out to stay alive, no matter the price to pay might be.

So long as two races exist in the same age, they aren't more evolved than the other. Only races that exist after others have gone extinct are more evolved, and so far, that's not the case for any race on Azeroth.
Mr. Bern mutated sounds more Frankenstein/Mr.hyde kind of transformation........ the only reason I say evolved is because the naga came from the highborne who we were told evolved from trolls (with a pinch of elunes magic) and there’s also a joke that the male trolls say about the elves evolving from them which is amusing to say the least

You ask me, I don't want Sylvanas to die, simply because I want to see some redemption. Not redemption in the sense of she becomes a lawful good character or something, no redemption in the sense that she doesn't look like some linear villain anymore. She's never been a hero, but I don't want her to be some predicable linear character. Not to mention, I believe killing her would be as much of a waste and shame as killing Vol'Jin was, but for different reasons.
Depends how you define a hero. Sylvanas gave her life for protection of her homeland that itself could be found heroic. She got one of the worst fates in terms of warcraft lore. I absolutely get why she is the way she is right now.
If Illidan and Kerrigan could be turned into a hero, so can she.

I think the undead do not value honor because there is no honor in there very existence. They are beings trapped between life and death that were forced to commit countless atrocities. And even after regaining free will they were outcast by their own people “ The Alliance”. After all that I understand why Sylvannas said Honor means nothing to the dead

I honestly would wanna see a sort of “war is pointless and here’s why” kind of story. They really focused on splitting the player base, even the ads focused on that. BoT, SoL, now Saurfang being free, and yet there is a looming threat. If anything, Blizz is really good at stirring emotions in it’s player base, so it could fit :P
Wouldn't be surprised if the whispers Voljin heard for sylvannas were from an old God posing as loa, which would probably not work against a strong shadow hunter but he was a death's door so there's that
I have a crackpot theory regarding Naz'jatar. One of the big questions that has been hanging over the Horde story is "Where is Thrall?". He was originally supposed to appear in 8.0 according to the original BfA announcement, but that never materialized. However we shouldn't take this as evidence that Thrall will never appear, especially since it may been at least partially due to Metzen being unavailable for most of BfA's development due to spinal surgery (he did record a few Varian lines for the Jaina scenario though).
The last place we saw Thrall? In the Doomhammer artifact questline, where he was in Deepholme after losing most of his connection to the elements. The entrance to Deepholme? The Maelstrom. Right in the middle of the Great Sea and not that far from Nazjatar.
My theory is that he's been a prisoner of Azshara the entire time. As one of the most powerful sorceresses on Azeroth, Azshara would have no trouble holding a depowered Thrall. Beyond that there's a lot of ways for the story to play out. He could break out early in the story and ensure that the Horde expedition isn't completely wiped out. He may of even broken out before we even show up and is responsible for the Gilblins and Co running around. Alternatively he might not break out until we finish the Azshara fight in the Eternal Palace raid.

She knows about the old gods and she did a lot of stuff to safe the world.
The lich King was personal but then the legion came and she really tried to safe vol'jin.
Also she knowy the blood elves and the humans have their arrogance going on although her people showed the humans how to use magic they did not safe them when it was needed and later the alliance still tries to be the main power.
She has not tried to assault the horde and was realible to the horde forces.
The horde has done so much good to this point and the alliance still demands that things happen to their will instead of finding a solution for both sides.
Of course Sylvana's is looking for every possible advantage.

What about humanization of Sylvanass in the short story "edge of the night" when she ENDED thinking about her people like arrows in her quiver and etc... She always was like this? What about her meeting with Vereesa? We got bits of her being humanized and then all of that scrapped?
the only thing different about sylvanas now compared to a while back is that she is now in the lead and she doesnt have to work towards her goals in secret with the blight and wrath gate for example she had to lie about the fact that she gave the order to produce the blight. but now she is the top dog of the horde and she can do what she wants. so it APPEARS she is going of the rails but in reality shes just comming out of hiding

saurfang and sylvanas are both such sick characters and part of the reason why i choose to play horde when i started playing.
The annoying part is although sylvanas is in my top 5 favorite characters the way things been going even for a bit of a fanboy as myself its becoming a bit harder to keep following her, but not having all the answers to what will happen with her is making it so hard for me to pick who to follow in BFA.
I love how theyre making me cling on to the story likes theres no tomorrow but i also feel like for now were getting a garrosh 2.0 and thats why i also think blizz dickrides alliance a bit which is fine im not one of those hardcore one sided people i want to see everything from both sides although i main horde but im really reluctant to pick a side right now.
I just rewatched "Warbringers: Azshara" and I noticed that Azshara was seemingly talking at 2 points of the video as if she knew that she was dealing with N'zoth or at least an old god. Is there anything in the lore that indicates that the old Nightelves knew of the old gods?

Hjoldahr M old gods are nothing compared to Titans and putting sargearas and archimond in one bracket is weird because archimond doesn’t hold a candle in terms of strength to the weakest Titan I bet they meant someone only at the level of archimond can defeat her or like kil’jaden.
Timelost just a question, but how is Sargeras the weakest if he is said to be the best warrior of the titans, with Aggramar in second. It also took all the remaining non-corrupted titans to imprison Sargeras (which honestly could just be so it was non-lethal)
You should do the 4 undead near the starting forsaken starting zone, Samuel fipps, Karell grayves, Daniel ulfman, and Stephan bhartec just find these guys thinking it must’ve been a meat store before scourge

He was always fighting the Legion from the inside (whenever he was inside) and always had motives other than selfishness.
As for Vashj joining the Illidari, I believe it might have to do with Vashj herself, who wanted to defect from Azshara without being completely outright betrayal to avoid her wrath.

To be honest, it was never made clear as to why Vashj joined up with illidan. The common theory, is that when he summoned the Naga from the depths, Azshara sent Vashj, who was her most loyal handmaiden, to lead them and aid him, in an attempt to defeat the demons and further their plans.
A connection between Afrasabi and Sylvanas? Not good, but explains a lot, since he always gave me a villain vibe.

Sylvanas was all cruel and cunning, with plausible deniability. The writing in BfA has been so bad. Instead of characters set in a storyline, Blizzard is now all about visual moments forcing events to happen.

I feel like HUGE plot twist await us all with Sylvannas actions. She is too enigmatic to end a raid boss and her character is not completely developed yet. She speak like she knows something more.
If they can make Jaina a raid boss they can make Sylvanas a raid boss. Not that I think they will - I think she will somehow regain what she lost when Arthas killed her - hope - and in the end save us. What will happen to her when she does, my thought is she will change in character if not in form.
Sylvannas committed suicide by falling onto one of Icecrown's spikes, yes? And Icecrown is made of Saronite, the black blood of Yogg-Saron, right?
The way I figure it, the best solution here probably IS to make her into a raid boss, or a scenario boss or world event or something. Maybe we could make her see that she's being Yogg-Saron's bitch and she can do that typical redemption thing Blizzard likes to do a lot. She's done some pretty irreparable stuff though, so while she doesn't have to die, she DOES have to be punished. Maybe she could be put into exile, or maybe she's put in a position where she doesn't have anymore power or something.
It's probably not the best solution, but it's the best way I can think of to meet a compromise.
Oh and Garrosh did nothing wrong.
One of the reasons the Lich King had the citadel built from the stuff was that the Undead are unaffected by Old God corruption. It's the same reason the Void is terrified of Sylvanas. Undead are resistant to corruption.

It still takes more than just one interaction with saronite for an undead to be corrupted by the metal. They are resistant to the old god whispering, but over a decent amount of time, become affected by it. If Sylvanas was still alive when she killed herself, that theory would 100% have some merit to it, but she is undead and there for resistant to the old gods. Besides, how the Void reacted to her shows she's not being manipulated by them or any of their creations such as Yogg.
DISTurbedwaffle918 the key word is “resistant”, they are not in any way immune, and can be effected by the old gods. As another commenter states, the ghouls mining saronite for the citadel have been corrupted and influenced, as they can be heard calling you-sarron’s name.

I still feel 2 main characters will die.... Not ones that would really cause an uproar but one's still powerful enough that would cause us to go "oh shit..." Nathanos is my first,
He's had wayyy to much time in the spot light of late to Warrent his time as a horde leader,
His dead could be a cause of sacrifice for sylvanas or just generaly an honorable death but his death and the "love" rumours between him and sylvanas would make sense if its to push her to do more terrible things.
My second is Genn...
Now I pick Genn because he's liked but alliance know he's a bit of a snake and a puppet master of andiun in some fashion,.
He would as we all know sacrifice Andiun for one clean kill shot on sylvanas and that's where I think his downfall could be.
Because he's driven my revenge he would sacrifice his rank... His honor and his nation if it meant he could get his clawns into Sylvanas.
I think using those two character wouldn't be as impactful as losing vol'jin and Varian but also just enough that it would sate either faction for not losing or winning.
I also feel like if they are to make this worth while and not a Garrosh story the horde and sylvanas need to win... Technically speaking, I think if it comes down to it the alliance and drawn to the back foot and maybe even been sieged in storm wind... Now I don't believe that's what should happen because it would be really really hard for them to write in a story directive but maybe the only way Andiun can win at this point is if that's how saurfang comes into play... He could flank the horde putting them off guard and into a retreat.
I know this directive may not be for everyone but I would find these paths pretty cool.

They could have Sylvanas take Azhara’s place as N’zoth’s chief lieutenant. Lor’themar takes over the Horde, and Bwonsamdi helps the Horde fight back N’zoth. Meanwhile, Taelia and Calia convince the Lich King to help the Alliance fight N’zoth.
Afrasiabi is not correct: it is out of character. Burning Teldrassil was stupid. Sylvanas was always the smart one. As far as I’m concerned, her character is destroyed beyond repair unless they give further explanation for Teldrassil. And no, I’m not mad because I play Tauren. Tauren have no special concern for Teldrassil since it was planted by Fandral Staghelm against the advice of Shan’do Stormrage and Hamuul Runetotem. I’m mad because Sylvanas Windrunner is smarter than that. Ordering the Wrathgate would have been smart but it still would be out of character for her because she always believed in sticking with your allies. But, she had the excuse of being suicidal back then. Now she wants to live. If you would like to live, and for whatever reason you must commit genocide, then you can’t half-ass it! Right now Nathanos’ forces have a chance, but if Jarod Shadowsong ever shows up they’re toast. She could have played it so he’d show up to find Tyrande and Malfurion swinging from Teldrassil’s branches. He would have had to resort to some extreme shit like recruiting quilboar and furbolgs. But no, Sylvanas Windrunner has no impulse control now, for unexplained reasons.
Agree...she is smarter than that...and she can't just be provoke by some dying elf words for hope. I think she is planning something bigger. There is absolutely no use of burning Teldrassil just to take hope away and kill so much innocents. There is more. She want to piss everyone off...not just the Alliance but the Horde and the neutral also. And she really did. Out of the rage ad the hatred her character is really enigmatic. She speaks with mystery. It well be interesting to see what the end of BFA holds.
Rin0Kaka but the question is: does Blizzard know that? And when is that explanation going to come? Are we going to wait ten years after we’ve killed her in BfA’s last raid to find out like we did with Illidan? Or have they learned that if a character’s actions have a nuanced explanation, it’s probably a good idea to make that public sometime before people pin their sense of identity on the character having malicious motivations.

In terms of killing major characters, be careful what you wish for. If they kill off your most hated character today you may well find that they are killing off your favorite character tomorrow. I'd be fine with no major character deaths in this expansion.
