Holy this is legendary. Not only do we get an interview with Rod but we get to hear him mention specifics on his game and how much he values creativity and hear about little nuances like Tim going at him because Rod was big in Chicago. And it's great to hear someone who was there talk about how much better John Wall was than even the elite college players of his generation. I hope one day we get to see the other greats of that era like Gary Payton, Sam Cassell, Nick Van Exel, Kenny Anderson, Stephon Marbury, Jason Williams, Mike Bibby, Baron Davis and Andre Miller in interviews like this with God.
Outstanding interview! Rod is second to none!! Yes, we Chicagoans claim of piece of him! Lol. He came to the Chi and turned De Paul out. Winning all the battles against the best teams and individual wars. Sham you're a legend in your own right for what you brought to the game. Peace and love from Chicago!
@@hittenhardmusic yes he was. He played in some great summer league games at Chicago State against Maurice Cheeks and Ricky Green. Kenny P. had that rock on a string!!!

@@missayawk, Kenny P. Started for De Paul from Jumpstreet. Was a helluva competitor. Never shied away from the competition... Another tough East coast point guard. We got 4 good ones from NYC.
@@jaleelmuhammad2222 NYC used to be PG University...so many great ones and so many forgotten ones.Another forgotten Kenny is Kenny Hutchinson from Ben Franklin HS ( NYC) which used to be a HS power with Gary Springer and Richie " Baby Dip" aka " The Animal" Adams....For awhile it seemed like Kenny was the name for great NY PGs.( Patterson, Hutchinson and Anderson)
The fundamentals! Back when I played too many unnecessary moves was called wasted energy and would've got you sat quickly. All you would've heard was that horn go off. You didn't even need to look. Just start walking to the bench 😂😂😂
13:30 I was at that draft.Just like Rod said.Mark Jackson was " holding hands" Shelton Jones.Basically projected top/ lottery picks would sit in theater seats waiting to get picked ( no family members). The year before Mark Jackson was the only player left after everyone got picked.Kenny Smith came and " held hands" with Mark until he got picked at 18.So Mark returned the favor for Shelton who was the only player left in the theater seats and didn't get picked until the 20s ( I think to San Antonio).I think that's what motivated Mark to get that ROY because I remember how embarrassed and pissed he was with an " I'll show y'all you f'd up".After Mark got ROY, then he got fat and his game declined for a little while then got motivated again.
Rod.....straightfoward interview.
