Rod Strickland is a hall of famer for sure imo.growing up in NYC watching him play at tournaments didn't know how big he was a legitimate 6ft 3.. 6ft 4 and strong
My father went to Kennedy High-school in the bronx and played against Strickland when he was in Truman Highschool in Co op city also in the Bronx..You always remember who gave you the business. STRICKLAND was that for my pops
Definitely one of my favorite point guards of all time. When I played NBA live back in the day I would trade for him or somehow get them on my team. Definitely underrated in my opinion
"Ill never let anyone put any pressure on me. I want a creative environment a positive environment." Yeah Kyrie definitely learned a bunch from this man.
Salute to the Point God Rod Strickland He is one of the most underrated PGs of all time, Depaul Blue Demon legend gave crazy work to some of the best of em during his NBA Career ( should have made a allstar team a few times but the politics of the game did not permit it). His layup package is top tier. #Dantana773
Big up to KG and the one out of De Paul.. KG I work with your Uncle in Greenville/ Duncan era.. Great guy.. The one day saved your life.. I CALL HIM J.B. short for James Brown cause he smooth like that.. Hope you stay rooted fam..

That commercial reminds me of the Jamie Foxx episode when Fancy was gonna get Jamie the KG autographed jersey & he couldn’t pronounce Wally Szczerbiak. 😂😂😂
Shout out to the g league, great to see how it continues to grow. 10 years from now it could be viewed as THE developmental option. Will still be a place for the NCAA as fans gravitate towards the team rather than the players anyway
Rod is one of my favorite PG of all time wasn't flashing at all but efficient sad he never made a all star game and one of the best around the rim of all time
Mark Jackson and Chris Mullin would be everywhere hooping. I've heard stories upon stories, upon stories of them both coming to the playgrounds, blacktops, full on going in. Also, thank you Rod, Tinsley a name that needs to be dropped more. Im a Rod fan, from day 1 lol.
Not sure if anybody know this but Rod Strickland is Kyrie Irving's godfather i think. Rod is tight with his old man. So he got some of his handles from Rod too.
@mr.michaels116 Rod and I went to school together, and we lived in the same project in the Bronx and I can tell you first hand Rod had crazy respect for Boo!
I hate that a sponsorship turned the D-League (Development League) into the G-League (Gatorade League). What happens when Pepsi takes over? The P-League?
Names they all know that are left out- Kenny Patterson, Sam Worthen, Craig Pendergrast, James Barlow, Pab, Dave Edwards, Tiny, Eddie Simmons, Cousy... But Pab is the template. All NYC point guards, all flashy PGs-lol descend from that root. Tricks and moves he was doing in the 60s and 70s, people are doing today.

Rod and all the old school player the same lol they big up all the old school players and by pass the newer greats… steph head and shoulder above Zeke and he didn’t even think to mention steph
I think the context was to rank the guys he played against. But having said that, don't get it twisted. Obviously Steph is a great player but if you put Isiah in this era he would be hell on wheels. If you put Steph in Isiah's era he'd still be great but maybe wouldn't get as many shot attempts. Also, he'd have to adjust to the physicality. Steph is a better pure shooter than Isiah but Isiah was streaky and could go on some blistering shooting streaks. Plus his penetration game was executive level and he was a better on ball defender than Steph.
KG is dead wrong for not mentioning Dirk!! Def one of the coldest PF EVER!! You can’t say Cliff Robinson & not mention 1st ballot HOF, reg & finals mvp!! Cmon KG stop it 😂😂
All CAP beloved! KG the type to not mention somebody just to be spiteful. No way Cliff Robinson is in anybody’s top 5, not even his wife & kids would say some shit like that 😂😂😂
It's about time someone interviewed the Point God on a podcast.
Strick
My favorite PG of all time!!! Very tricky finishing at the rim
I'm 33, I didn't see a ton of his career. Definitely know he deserves more respect.
Finally!!!
Say it louder 📣 for the people in the back.
I remember watching Rod at DePaul when they were more popular than the Bulls. I loved watching them on WGN with my Dad. R.I.P Ray Meyer and my Pop.
I'm not from Chicago but, watched WGN because of the Bulls. I remember the night news broadcast after games with Robert Jordan and Allison Payne.
