So if Abraham's life flashes before his eyes every time he dies, wouldn't that mean his previous deaths flash before his eyes too? If so, do those previous flashes also flash before his eyes? If so, then he's fucking right about being reborn bringing knowledge and enlightenment. Every time he dies, the amount of lifetimes he's lived grows exponentially. After dying 10 times, he'll have lived 65 full life times.
The time between deaths aren't super long, so it wouldn't be full lives, he's in his mid 30's, so he'd probably only have "lived" for a few hundred years if he's died 10 times.

This was the most realistic beginning of a dnd session I've ever seen. 6 minutes of straight chaotic bullshit that delighted me to the very core. VERY excited about this group- and this game!!!
So my friends and I are playing in Strixhaven and our DM added Abraham and Paddles to the npc casting. Abraham is one of the professors and there’s another who’s a reaper and also a professor. every time Abraham dies the other professor runs out of his class with his scythe and then comes back a few seconds later despondent when Abraham is successfully revived. It’s pretty great!
More real play shows need to take a cue from Carlos editing wise. This was like we skipped the original ep and went straight to the "D&D Strixhaven being chaotic for two hours and fifty-three minutes" fan video, and I'm so here for that. I genuinely would love to see a whole season of this
as a grown man who went through continuing ed at a big ten uni, I love the old weird guy representation of Abraham; we love you my old weird virgin, way to lift up the little guys and advocate for unionization rights!
Aabria always seems so well put together in the games she DMs. Watching her and the PCs be unhinged and feral is kinda nice. It gives me hope for myself and my players
In the latter part of the first exu series she dm'd for critical role the chaos of the cast draws her in, and it's a great way to see that process shift.
Brennan is chaotic enough on his own, but somehow, whenever he and Aabria are in the same game, the chaos threshold becomes surpassed by so much that it collapses into a chaotic black hole of chaos.

Aabria just casting Polymorph irl to become Lou Wilson for like 20 minutes as Tulk is incredible. I loved these Strixhaven games, amazing crew and cast and amazing job on the edit Carlos!

Every time Brennan and Aabria are in a game together, it's like Brennan takes it as a personal challenge to be the most chaotic lump of chaos he can possibly be 😂
Never has a face been more relatable than the fraction of a second we see Brendan's face (a loooong term DM) being able to ask another DM "what's your name" to a rando NPC.
And this is why I like Aabria so much as a DM, she uses the rules to tell the narrative instead of forcing the narrative into the DnD ruleset. If the DnD Rules doesn't facilitate the narrative, she kicks it to the curve. She puts narrative and collaborating story first and rules second and that's the DM style I love. Great session today.
If you like this kind of DM'ing, try the Dungeon World RPG! Its a much simpler system with less focus on rules and more on collaborative storytelling. I think it sucks that D&D gets all the attention when there are so many good rpg systems out there that would fit people playstyles so much better.
@@BlueMadness666666 Why would you think the attention D&D gets sucks when it its popularity is largely responsible for the tabletop rpg revolution of the last decade? I mean I like Dungeon World just fine, but it's not hard to understand that its greater reliance on freeform roleplay feels less like a game and more like narrative contrivance, i.e. making anything up. Most people like having clearly defined actions and abilities so they know the limit of what they can and can't do, as opposed to having choice overload when those things are left vague and undefined.
I suggest watching The unleashed if you like Aabria's style, it was a show she did during the start of the pandemic with cast members from her other show Kollok 1991
Brennan has an amazing ability to craft characters that are fun to watch, must be fun to play, is completely capable of carrying the game but bows out to either do something awesome for another player or to kill the audience with his in character jokes. I legitimately almost fell out of my chair when Abraham said very sweet and quietly please kill me

2:40:40 and onward gives me absolute chills Aabria's storytelling style is so well honed and her focus on creating atmosphere is intensely moving. I love when DM's can do good voices and make clever puzzles, but there is something separate and glorious in being able to cut to the heart of your PCs and make the moment land. Her word choice and honor to the narrative is something I deeply admire as a budding DM. Aabria has a direct line to both my tear ducts and deepest belly laughs. Thank you for making this and major props to the editing and sound design. I mean this with the utmost respect: I'm lifting some of this for my own future Strixhaven game.

Aabria always seems so well put together in the games she DMs. Watching her and the PCs be unhinged and feral is kinda nice. It gives me hope for myself and my players
In the latter part of the first exu series she dm'd for critical role the chaos of the cast draws her in, and it's a great way to see that process shift.
I think this is the most chaotic actual play table I've ever seen, and I'm only 5 minutes in.

Brennan is chaotic enough on his own, but somehow, whenever he and Aabria are in the same game, the chaos threshold becomes surpassed by so much that it collapses into a chaotic black hole of chaos.
I made 3:38 before realizing how chaotic this will be.

Never has a face been more relatable than the fraction of a second we see Brendan's face (a loooong term DM) being able to ask another DM "what's your name" to a rando NPC.
And this is why I like Aabria so much as a DM, she uses the rules to tell the narrative instead of forcing the narrative into the DnD ruleset. If the DnD Rules doesn't facilitate the narrative, she kicks it to the curve. She puts narrative and collaborating story first and rules second and that's the DM style I love. Great session today.
If you like this kind of DM'ing, try the Dungeon World RPG! Its a much simpler system with less focus on rules and more on collaborative storytelling. I think it sucks that D&D gets all the attention when there are so many good rpg systems out there that would fit people playstyles so much better.

I mean I like Dungeon World just fine, but it's not hard to understand that its greater reliance on freeform roleplay feels less like a game and more like narrative contrivance, i.e. making anything up. Most people like having clearly defined actions and abilities so they know the limit of what they can and can't do, as opposed to having choice overload when those things are left vague and undefined.

Brennan has an amazing ability to craft characters that are fun to watch, must be fun to play, is completely capable of carrying the game but bows out to either do something awesome for another player or to kill the audience with his in character jokes.

I love when Aabria makes the PCs make trades for things that would otherwise be impossible. Beastbond would never work, they're not even beasts... But then she ignores that, focuses on the INT, and then creates this INCREDIBLE moment... for [rules lawyers] like me, it really pushes me to grow as a player & DM... LOVE IT

I love when DM's can do good voices and make clever puzzles, but there is something separate and glorious in being able to cut to the heart of your PCs and make the moment land.
Her word choice and honor to the narrative is something I deeply admire as a budding DM. Aabria has a direct line to both my tear ducts and deepest belly laughs.
