The engine is a early 1970s block 454 it has a hydraulic flat tappet Compcam shaft with a lift of 527 on the intake and 552 on the exhaust at 0.050. New Quick Fuel double pumper 750 carb w/ electric choke. Compression is approximately 9.7 to one and it easily runs on middle grade and premium grade gas. Rebuild Muncie M 20 transmission. The rear end is completely new with everything except the housing being the original all new bearings all new internals with new Postreaction unit and 3.33:1 gearing. It has 3-inch collector tubes on the headers with a 3-inch exhaust mandrel bent all the way through to the tail pipes.
Air shocks on rear. Stereo is a Retro Sound radio w hands free and speakers installed into a custom speaker enclosure behind seats. Sounds wonderful!

@@joemama1947 doing pretty good, it was quite a road trip ,on the way back from calif,we heard a song come over the radio."calif dream n" hence the brother asked me the name of the car..My reply was "calif,deamer", I havnt talked to steve ( thought he might be on his trip yet)but he would get a kick out of it.The car is alot of fun to drive.

Great looking/sounding big block El Camino. Decent price also. Already got 2 ('69 SS 396 matching #'s and clone '70 with 454), but sadly both with slush boxes, not the Muncie M20 or better yet the M22.
