Dynasty could have gone another 5 seasons with a complete retooling to make Sable the focus of more stories. She was one of the Top 10 best characters to come out of 1980s TV.
It makes no sense for Sable to be friends with Blake and Krystal. The first time we meet her, she's dissing them with a "Rocky Mountain Royalty" comment (Go back and Watch THE TITANS). But so glad we got three great seasons of her!
It’s a shame we didn’t get a third season of The Colbys or a proper finale for Dynasty and it was also a shame they couldn’t wait until Stephanie Beecham was available for the reunion movie.

What does "I am NOT after Blake Carrington. Not in the way YOU mean..." ? I had a shiver go up my spine worried had there been a sewason 10 she was going to turn on him and i liked thier friendship. It was obvious her and Forsythe liked doing scenes together. She was probably as close to a scene partner he figured hed get once Ms. Evans was gone
I took it to mean she was after him to help destroy Alexis But even if that was the case I would not have minded her and Blake getting together because I've always loved Stephanie beacham she was very gorgeous and loved how she spoke
Okay let's get real why is Sable in Denver. A cosmo, materialistic peson would have chosen New York , San Fran, Las Vegas even Chicago, or Dallas It was merely for story line lol. BEacham is delightfully wicked and Jeff is great at pushing the buttons. Sable, Connie, Alexis, Krystal, Claudia are all strong women in their own way whose motivation is love = love of themselves, their family, their children. It is a bit bothersome but its tv that people can threaten to kill, choke, punch and slapandnot face criminal charges.
Good scene ....one of the few times the Dynasty writers got the continuity with THE COLBYS spot on....but making Monica and Miles not Jason's kids and having Alexis have had an affair with Jason was a catastrophic decision. They shot the continuity to hell in the reunion movie....Miles still talks as if hes Jason's son.

I think that this last season was dreadfully uncoordinated and I wonder if they were simply planting "seeds" all over the place to see what would take root. The only bright thing in this season was Sable. Everything else was just all over the place.
Have you watched "The Colbys"? I love Sable but she was no angel and did some questionable things to hold onto Jason and protect Miles' status as "heir apparent". Sable's son Miles was considered the "heir apparent" until Jeff arrived in Los Angeles, won Fallon away from Miles and was revealed to be Jason's son.

HOw did Jeff "Foule the very routes" of her family? That line doesnt fit in here at all. He showed up at COlby mansion in 1985 to get his wife, who'd lost her memory. As far as Francesca taking Jason away Jeff had no control nor was he even be rooting for Francesca as she did so. Then the "I'm not after Blake Carrington,........not in the way that you mean" statement that sent a shiver up my spine. I was worried as hell had season 10 came around she was going to throw him under the bus somewhow. Then in scene with Alexis when she brings the FBI in Alexis office she says "NO NO NO ALexis...I'm NOT after Blake....im after YOU." , which confused me even more. Then earlier in the sewason when Jeff says he "Earned his money" SAble replies with "By the sweat of your aunt Connies brow", which also made no sense since A- COnnie willingly gave Jeff her shares and B- I doubt in the early days of COlby Enterprises she did much of any work. It was never alluded to she was ever in the office and for all intensive purposes Jason was the only Colby involved. For some reason Cecil started "ColbyCo" in Denver which seemed to be a smaller company. Maybe he started THAT company with the money Daddy Andrew left him? Lots of gray areas this season in the dialouge. If anyone has any answers id love to hear them. Thanks!
Jeff upset Sable's apple cart. When he arrived in Los Angeles, Constance gave her shares of Colby Enterprises to Jeff, which made him equal partners with Jason. Sable thought those shares should have gone to her son, Miles. Sable was further enraged when she found out Jeff was the son of her husband Jason and her sister Francesca. She even pointed a shot gun at Jason for the betrayal. Jeff's whole presence upended Sable's life.
She looked between 50-60 on the Colbys yet a year after that show got canned she shows up looking between maybe 38-48. Also she never mentioned what she did with Monicas son in the series finale of The Colbys. Sloppy loose ends and a physical unexplained makeover. Not impressed. Love Beacham though
She was aged to appear closer in age to Charlton Heston with grey streaks in her hair and with makeup. David Paulsen decided to make Sable closer to Stephanie Beacham's actual age - and be able to still bear a child. Soap opera's often play fast and loose with character's ages, especially children. Of course we could say Sable's age remained consistent but she "had some work done" after her Jason left her. As for her day at the beach with Scott, I imagine her lawyer, Arthur Cates, defended her as a "harmless grandmother spending quality time with her grandchild".
At very least in this scene we found out Frankie's fate. She survived. Ross I liked but her age only would have allowed her to be his slightly older sister,not mother. And Stanwyck was old enough to be Beacham grandmother when the Colbys began. Hate how shows ignore ages and think audience doesnt know the difference. Like many horror films of yesterday having 20 and 30 something year old high school students

a) from the spinoff "The Colbys" Jeff and Sable have some history there. b) maybe to protect Blake from Alexis?
It was in The Colbys: Sable's life went to shithouse as soon as Jeff moved to Los Angeles.
She wanted Blake as potential ally against Alexis. She was not trying to steal him from Krystle, she actually befriended her later.

They made her look older on the Colbys because probably the age difference between hers and Charleston heston age difference
