Ball was hit to deep right. Straight right. Clemente, calmly stepped back, caught the ball, and threw to home. It was a strike. Roberto's back was almost against the wall. Only a fraction of the fans had been seated by that time, but the sound that came out of the crowd was wonderful and unique.Aaaaahhh... Barry Bonds is one of the many reasons I quit watching baseball over 25 years ago.
    These guys are so overpaid and a lot of them don’t appreciate the fans that pay their salaries.

  • @KratostheThird
    @KratostheThird 2 месяца назад

    Bonds was always a narcissistic, arrogant, selfish person.
    Coach Bill Virdon was one of the players of the 1960 World Series champion Pittsburgh Pirates. Barry Bonds probably never cared about him. Some older baseball fans have told me that Barry played horribly as a Pirate during the playoffs.
    His over inflated ego made him take the juice after he watched Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa shatter Roger Maris home run record of 61. Barry Bonds refused to train with his other teammates and had his own personal trainer. He also had a section of the locker room in the clubhouse entirely to himself.
    Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn said of Bonds, “He either likes you, or he don’t”.

  • @aulorenzo1498
    @aulorenzo1498 3 года назад +3

    And Barry Bonds took steroids to calm him down

  • @MonroeYohey
    @MonroeYohey 3 года назад

    Bonds was being an a$$, but he wanted out of Pittsburgh which was becoming a minor baseball market in co parison to bigger cities. Especially, with struggles of Pittsburgh’s dying industry. One player doesn’t make a team. This was even prior to the salaries going really inflationary crazy. I agree with Leyland and someone needs to be in charge. Bond still needed to pay attention to coaches and do his best with media to promote the team. This was before media was truly bad so it should have been no big deal. Leyland was just putting his foot down and telling him he shouldn’t be acting like an egocentric and making commands over everyone and everything. Some guys are very gracious with their stardom and others aren’t. I can’t say how Barry Bonds was our feels about how he acted later in life. People age they change and mature. Maybe he is a good guy and maybe he isn’t. Barry Bonds was a very good athlete made great by steroids but so were many others during that era.
