I've been following these guys and their quest to get the Armenian Genocide officially recognized in the United States...have watched a million reacts to this song and this could be the last one I even need to watch. I remember this album coming out and immediately rushing out to the local music store to buy the CD. 1000s of listens later, it's still one of my favorite albums of all time.
That was me on their first album. Though this one is every bit as special, any first experience always holds a special place in your memory.

The band originally wanted to call the song Suicide, but the record company squashed that real quick, so System decided to chop the word suicide; hence, the song name then became Chop-Suey. I hope this helps clear that up-for someone, at least! 🤘🏻❤️♾️

First time I saw SOAD was at an Ozzfest in the 90’s. They played a second stage. A small stage. We were right up front. It was awesome. It was their first album so they didn’t play this. But they played Sugar and everything off that first album. Killer!

I think the "angels deserve to die" is a reference that the angels appear complacent in his crucifixion but are his protectors. Since he was willing to die for us, the angels were told to stand by sand not save him. If he was involuntary crucified by man (the romans), the angels should have come down and laid waste to everyone. That is just my interpretation. Great song!

Speaking of armenia, if you want some of the heaviest, most complex jazz music ever made, check out the work of Tigran Hamasyan. He's an armenian-american composer, inspired both by armenian folk music and metal music, and his time signatures make TOOL songs sound like Dora the explorer. His song "Drip", performed with the Berklee Middle-eastern fusion ensemble, is DIVINE.

Their producer pushed a Bible into Serges(singer) hands when he couldn't come up with lyrics and told him to open to a random page and say the first line that stuck out to him. Not a religious song. Angels deserve to die refers to the belief that if angels existed they should be out to death for the suffering they allow when they're meant protect humans, eg kids with cancer, innocent people being bombed etc basically saying if there was a god and angels they've forsaken us. That's my take anyway from what I know about System. That's why music is awesome, you can interpret it in different ways.

In medleys he does all arrangements, plays all instruments, sings in several languages and pays homage to the original artists with some garment/makeup that make reference to them. The entire environment of each video also makes reference to some major event of the year, for example, in 2022 was metaverse. After watching his medleys you can also watch the music video of his first single Odisseia released last month in his new channel LVCAS!👍
