    It seems every time I'm researching lenses or a camera I find you doing a review on it. And let me tell you, I'm loving it each time I see them, I trust your reviews more than others. I'm buying this lens next and I'm feeling that this is going to be the lens that expresses who I am as a photographer.

    I've had this lens for many years and have been extremely happy with it. The sharpness is amazing and while I also own the 105mm micro, this remains one of my best and favorite Nikon lenses.

      Oh! I have to get my hands on the 105 macro! Thanks for sharing!

    I used to own this lens and it was sharp.
    It was a recommendation by Ken Wheeler (angry photographer) and he was right. Inexpensive and worth it even if you don't have screw auto focus. It was a fantastic lens for copying negs too.

    WOW ! If Nikon have discontinued this lens then they needvyo put it back into production. Your photos are that good they will cause a surge in demand.

      Haha! I hope it does go up in demand. It's such an under rated lens now. Especially since everyone wants the latest and greatest that is nearly 10x the price of this lens.

    I use this lens with the Nikon Z7 for macro work. Super sharp, beautiful Bokeh.

    Another nice video. The downside of the 60mm is you need to get very close and it can limit light source. Have you tried the 105mm 2.8m? It gives you a little more room to work. Try that 60mm on flowers with your D700 or D3, spectacular colors.
    Keep up the videos.

      Thank you! Appreciate the kind words.
      I haven't tried the 105 2.8. But I think after the 60, I will be :)

    I've taken some amazing shots of aerospace gears with this lens using long exposures (like 2 minutes) at f32 and a desk lamp....It actually captured the thin edge of the heat treated periphery of the gear tooth on a D7000.....so I bough one for myself. : )

    Awesome video, straight to the point and clear cut. Definitely going to be grabbing this lens after seeing this. Felt bored with my current gear and maybe trying some macro will open my horizons a bit.

      Saw your comment and threw it on my camera and it is a VERY fun lens to play with. I think everyone should have a Macro lens to really play around with their photography.

    Nikon Micro Nikkors are not entry level lenses. They are super sharp, even wide open and with a flat field. This one needs the camera AF motor.

    So I have a question, for my nikon d3000 do I need a lens for the picture to look good or no??

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Год назад

      Hard to say because it really depends on the style of photography you're doing. If you're doing portraits, I would lean on saying Yes. I would highly recommend getting a 50mm 1.8 lens (or this lens) to get improve image quality.
      It's hard to say if an image will "look good or not" because I have seen amazing landscape images and portraits from the regular 18-55 lens. It just really falls on the photographer.

    I have a strange issue, I have this lens and it works perfectly when set to S (Single Shot) mode on all modes (PSAM) but when I changed the dial to something such as QC/Q/Self Timer, the lens won't get recognised and gives me a FEE error only on P and S modes. It's been driving me crazy, does anyone have any ideas? I am using a Nikon D810

    The lens you are showing does not have the D suffix - so appears to be the non D old version ! Could you comment on this please ?

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  6 месяцев назад

      You are correct! The D and Non-D versions are optically the same. The only difference is the D version communicates focus distance info to the camera which helps can help calculate the power of your camera's flash or flash device. I've seen some examples from the D and non-D models and image quality-wise, it'd be extremely hard to tell the difference between the 2.

    I got tamron 85 and sigma 35. I search for 50 1.8g and this lens same price. I want to ask about the chromatic aberration and sharpness of both lens in 2.8 and f4. I was used 50 1.8 for 1 month. I wonder should i take this lens or 50 1.8g . Potraits only, which one sharper

    • @BoostLeekdMedia
      @BoostLeekdMedia  Год назад

      There are a lot of factors that can really effect sharpness. If you're doing portraits, the 50mm 1.8G does have the advantage because of the wider aperture. As for sharpness at F/2.8, I think the 60mm F/2.8 is just a bit sharper at that aperture. BUT, like I said earlier, there are a lot of factors to getting sharp images as well, especially for portraits.
