    By the way if he didn't do this the animal would have chewed its own leg off to get free, eventually... I think it's great there putting out these videos and educating people. I usually use a small towel let him bite it then wrap it right around the eyes and jaw then get on em.

      @Apocalomega Год назад +1

      He didn't let it go. At the beginning, he explained that they are required to kill them to cull the population some in order to protect other wildlife from being overhunted.
      The Wildlife and Fisheries (government) regulates the hunting/trapping of all of these animals, and they are the ones that tend to make the request during certain parts of the year to cull some of the population because they are overpopulated, and left untouched, they would endanger the populations of other wildlife. And then they are the ones that say when trapping season starts/ends, so they are in control.
      Wildlife and Fisheries would not allow anyone to trap during the time of year where they would have babies, unless it was an emergency situation. You would get a ticket/go to jail, if you trapped them out of season, unless the state/town gave you a permit for it out of necessity.

    Some of the arguments in the comments for killing the coyote is they kill too many rabbits, some dogs, and are overpopulated. Humans eat more rabbits and dogs globally and are greater in population and we wouldn’t kill people because of this. This means the actual reason for killing coyotes is they’re not valuable enough to be granted life for some reasons. So, name the trait true of a coyote, that if true a human, would justify trapping and killing them

    • @TimLewisMountainMan
      @TimLewisMountainMan  3 года назад +3

      Indiscriminate killing.

    • @Apocalomega
      @Apocalomega Год назад

      If populations are left unchecked, then they would become a danger for themselves. Overpopulation means less food, because they hunt anything that they can eat indiscriminately. They would overhunt other animal populations to endangerment, and in turn start putting themselves in danger as well. Culling animals during overpopulation to restore the balance is the most ethical thing to do to ensure the survival of all of the different kinds of wildlife, not just coyote. Humans are competent enough to ban hunting of something if it becomes endangered, while coyote would continue killing indiscriminately until there is literally nothing left, because they don't have a moral compass.
      The Wildlife and Fisheries in most states are normally the ones that request for trappers and hunters to hunt/trap these animals when their populations are too high, and they will normally pay you for helping to cull some of the population. It's not really a pretty sight, but it's something that has to be done to protect other animal populations as well. The Wildlife and Fisheries (government) are the ones that monitor the animal populations and determine these seasons. They regulate it pretty strictly.

They have roll call when they find a wolf missing...the head female will bread. It's actually quite amazing how this process work's but they know how many pups they need to have. If the pack is missing 3 or 4 they will have 3 or 4... Just 1 they will have 1 maybe 2. It's really crazy how they can do that. Anyway so if y'all kill 20 they will bread and have more. I've never heard of wolves, or coyotes, intentionally replenishing pack numbers by having different sized litters. Though wolves do have different sized litters based on their K locust as KK pups die often, and kk wolves are a little more likely to be subdued by sickness.
      But their howls are all unique and identifiable, if that's what you mean by role call.

      @@somuchluv89 It is illegal to have an animal in a trap for that long. If you place foot traps you are required to check them every single morning, before a certain time of day. This takes into account when coyotes are active, in order to minimize the amount of time that they would be in said trap, to be as humane as possible.
      Anyone that leaves their traps unchecked for more than 24 hours, can and should lose their trapping license. I would not feel bad for them if they were arrested for it either.
      Wildlife and Fisheries are the ones that regulate trapping, and they are the ones that set the trapping season, and they are the ones that request for populations to be culled like this. They do not play at all when it comes to regulating that people check their traps on a proper schedule. You are required by law to throw your traps (disable them) if you aren't going to be able to check them the following morning. You cannot hunt/trap these animals outside of the season specified by Wildlife and Fisheries, unless you have a special permit given to you by the state/town out of necessity. Left untouched, they would decimate other animal populations and put them in danger, and that's what Wildlife and Fisheries monitors and keeps up with each year.

      The Wildlife and Fisheries in most states are normally the ones that request for trappers and hunters to hunt/trap these animals when their populations are too high, and they will normally pay you for helping to cull some of the population. So trapping coyote would likely be for neither sport or food, because I have never heard of anyone eating coyote. It's not really a pretty sight, but it's something that has to be done to protect other animal populations as well.

      Coyotes actually are not pack hunters like wolves, that is a very common misconception.. very seldom do more than 1 or 2 actually hunt, kill or travel together. Yes more than that are seen together, but its not a common occurrence.

    • @Apocalomega
      @Apocalomega Год назад

      I would be a lot more worried about a pack of hogs than a coyote, if I'm being honest. Coyotes are pretty timid when it comes to humans and submit when they are trapped. When we used to trap them, coyotes were the least stressful situation, it was more stressful when there was a raccoon or a bobcat, because they are ornery.

    Maybe if you'd secure your animals instead of just giving them a fence, try locking your barn door or make their fence much higher. Then you wouldn't have to kill coyotes for no reason. Coyotes literally can't help their nature. It's their instinct to hunt. They aren't humans and they don't know how to screw off someone's property. I'm curious if you didn't let him go. You grabbed his neck WAY too roughly. He didn't even bother to attack you, he just bit the hat because you shoved it in his face. You probably sold his head and fur to people. Coyotes aren't cows, pigs, chicken, or sheep. They're literally ancestors to dogs. You really want their population to decrease? Do you want them to go extinct? Your nature is inhuman. Imagine if some coyote came up to your property, minding his own business and not doing anything when all of a sudden, he gets his leg trapped and struggles to escape. Then he gives up hopelessly and sadly and sees you, with a harsh look. You muzzle him with a cap and grab him roughly by the neck, dragging him just a bit across the ground. Then you walk closer to him and step on his right back foot, still dragging him and moving him around by the neck. You tell everyone you'd release him when you can kill him behind camera. Slicing his skin and fur off. Then puts a bullet to your head or stabs you, and cuts your head off. What if the coyote was you? The coyote looked more scared than determined to attack. He was probably innocent. Does that not give you any humanity? Or are you just cold-hearted to the canine population and chain. You never gave proof that he ran away. Such BS! Poor thing...

      Have you ever visibly seen what a coyote does to livestock and other small animals?! They're definitely not saints. They're destructive, reproduce like wildfire and have no qualms about killing everything in sight. Not only that,but kill it and then not even eat what they kill. If you ever set foot outside of the city limits, you might have an idea of what life is like for the ranchers and farmers growing the food you are consuming.

    • @Apocalomega
      @Apocalomega Год назад

      The entire point is for their population to decrease, because they are overpopulated and creating a danger to the population of other wildlife. To leave it unchecked would result in other animals being hunted by coyote to endangered levels. I can tell that you live in a bubble, and don't really know how the real world works.
      The Wildlife and Fisheries (The people that regulate hunting/trapping/fishing to protect wildlife populations) in most states are normally the ones that request for trappers and hunters to hunt/trap these animals when their populations are too high, and they will normally pay you for helping to cull some of the population. Chill out. He didn't attack him because much like domesticated animals, the mother carry their young coyotes by the back of their necks. This is why when he grabbed it, the coyote submitted. It wasn't because he grabbed it too hard, lol.
      The coyote was fine, stop being ridiculous. Coyotes are predators and will kill pets and livestock NO MATTER WHAT. If they walk through your back yard and your pet is out there, the coyote will try and kill it. These animals are not innocent, very far from it. They will find a way, doesn't matter how high the fence is, they can dig underneath it. They're not dumb animals.

    • @AWAVAWA
      @AWAVAWA 3 года назад +2

      No I do not want to catch and release the wolfs, they do not belong anywhere remotely close to where I can catch them, just like cougars. We get permits to run hounds on cats, hopefully they give out permits of some kind eventually to keep the wolf population down too. Everyone loves wolf's and cougars till they have one in their backyard or school playground, and that's when they realize that living with predators like that around isn't all it's cracked up to be.

    • @AWAVAWA
      @AWAVAWA 3 года назад +2

      @M Pulverman what is idiotic is not keeping the population healthy, which is why they give out tags so the population doesn't grow out of control, it's called wild life management. That way we don't loose the whole population to poachers, which is entirely possible if fish and game doesn't show that they are willing to keep them in check. They calculate how many tags to give out each year depending upon population. So please do yourself and everyone around you a favor, and educate yourself about the necessary human involvement in re-establishing an endangered species.

    • @AWAVAWA
      @AWAVAWA 3 года назад +2

      @M Pulverman I'm not talking about coyotes, I'm talking about wolfs. And we don't have pigs here anyways. I really appreciate your enthusiasm but people already get wolf tags where they eat the live stalk. Ethical hunting and trapping is always a better for the animals then people poaching them out of fear.

    • @Apocalomega
      @Apocalomega Год назад

      The government entity Wildlife and Fisheries are the ones that request culling of certain animal populations when they start to become so overpopulated that they risk becoming a danger to other animal populations. They dictate the trapping season, and dictate the law when it comes to that. Trapping outside of that season without a special permit by the state/town (which would only be given out of necessity for some overpopulation emergency) would only result in someone going to jail, so it's a lot more regulated than most people think.
