I saw you problem solve your hurt over not having good reviews on certain videos. You can do 10 minute videos when appropriate then do your hour videos when you need more in-depth content. I really love your project video’s and your adventure videos. Sometimes I only have 10 minutes to spend on plant content and have to skip over the longer videos but always come back to see the longer ones. What you are doing with your channel is fun, intelligent and enlightening. You have a fan here !

@@sydneyplantguy Why can't people just watch longer ones in sections over several days if they don't have time all at once, instead of complaining? No one is forced to view anything! Sheesh!! I find you both entertaining and informative and am glad to have you spend the time making these. Thank you from Seattle, Washington.

@@sydneyplantguyIt is fun to watch long videos, and shorter videos, but what really matters the most is the beauty of your plants. I don’t know about other people, but I’m happy to rewatch the same videos over and over again, just to see the beauty. It’s like looking at art. Once isn’t enough, when viewing the works of Michelangelo, or DaVinci. It takes time to create such high quality, which, in my opinion, is why quality is better than quantity. In this case, the quality is largely in the beauty of your plants. And I think even Michelangelo and DaVinci would be absolutely in awe of what you have been able to grow. Thank you for sharing their beauty with us.

@@lindaschad9734I believe Kathrynrobinson670 is offering a constructive suggestion rather than complaining. I also share Kathrynrobinson670's viewpoint. Initially, I started following @sydneyplantguy, but over time, his videos became too lengthy for me, with unnecessary conversations lacking valuable information. Additionally, I found your response to be somewhat abrupt but every person is different and acts according to their values. I think that the @sydneyplantguy has extensive knowledge about plants that have actually been very helpful to me. He's very nice, but he tends to talk too much and it can get a bit boring, especially in this fast-paced life. Why do you think TikToks have been so successful these days? People are looking for things that are novel, interesting, and appealing, but also concise and to the point. Have a good one!

    Hey Jan,
I didn't see the flowers video on my subscriptions which is the only reason I haven't watched it yet, but I'm very excited to!
I love all of your content. It doesnt matter what it is, I'll always watch it. Several reasons - Your personality is lovely, you're down to earth and speak the truth. You're very knowledgeable about whatever your content is based on and I learn from you in every video, and just because I love supporting my favourite creators by watching everything!
Please continue to make the different styles of content, at least know that I'll watch and love it!
I'm hoping the issue with that having a low view count was the same as mine, it simply didn't come up in my alogrythm which is rather annoying.

I personally really like seeing whats happening with ur plants just as much as informational videos. Growth updates on plants, showing new things you have picked up, or what you're propping currently would be content i'd be excited to watch. Even just going through and talking more about individual plants and how u find they grow compared to others would be super interesting. On the same note i'd love to see ur methods with fertiliser and pest control even just as casual content vs a more expertise kind that you usually do on moss poles etc

Just wanted to say that the video about the botanical gardens was one of my favourite. Seeing the plants that I attempt to groom indoor, in their natural environment, reaching their full potential, was so interesting to me. The size a ficus could reach blew my mind and made me look at my ones in a different light. You are dedicated, hard working and passionate about the content you put out and that shines through in your work, don’t be disheartened.

I like to watch you, as I do all the channels I follow, for your experience with growing plants and the goals, outcomes and challenges you encounter throughout your journey. I love seeing my channels as themselves, whether you are doing plant research or just enjoying your time with your plants. I love to hear about the process that goes along with growing plants and just being yourself and enjoying telling stories to your followers about why you do what you do with your plants. I also enjoy seeing your field trips and telling us about what you’re passionate about and how you take that passion and put into your own hobby. I will be the first person to turn off an entire video of plant shopping! Ya know a quick in and out of a garden center or whatever, is way different than a complete shopping video, who cares! If it is an event that’s great and huge info for me! I’m just basically trying to say I watch you faithfully because I truly enjoy watching you and your hobby! Thanks for being you!!

I like your longer videos and I’ve learned a lot from each one, whether it’s about your houseplants/aroids or about the wonderful botanical gardens you have in Sydney and the horticulturalists so knowledgeable about the plants they care for. Your shorts are fun, but I actually like the longer videos with content. You inspired me to start making moss poles after watching you last December, and I’m so glad you got me started. But equally I’ve enjoyed your visits to AJ’s, the botanic gardens, and garden shows & nurseries, and all the diverse interesting sites & information from those videos.
Surely if people don’t want to watch more than 10-15 minutes at a time, they can stop and return to watch them in 2 or 3 sittings. Keep doing whichever YOU LOVE to do. 🍃😊🔫🔫🔫

In regards to the plant that is 18 minutes into this video. You mentioned that it hasn't grown much. You have said that the moss pole is part of the pot. So, repot the moss pole by snipping the zip ties on the back and add another strip of the fencing, zip them together and stuff it with more moss. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing all your work. It has inspired me very much.

So we both have a lot of pleasure watching your videos. Thank you for all your work and efforts to make unique, informative contents.🔫

I often overlook longer videos just due to time constraints. I like to sit and have a coffee and watch short videos on my breaks. Generally I like 20-30 minute videos. I enjoy the longer ones on my days off.

I love listening to plant content while I’m working on my plants and whatever else around the house.
The videos are awesome because there are visual references when I want them but I do tend to put off watching the videos that require more of my focus until I have time to “watch” the video.
Unfortunately, I don’t always remember to go back and watch them.
And then there’s the other issue that some experiences are better in person. It’s like going to the zoo and taking a lot of great pictures. No matter how great the pictures are, most people looking at the pictures would rather just go to the zoo themselves.
But videos where plants we love growing indoors, are growing in nature or conservatories… it would be great to hear takeaways from the visits and how they inform what choices you plan to make next.
Love the reference to feeling like you’re hanging out with a plant friend, plant friend videos are my favorite.

I second what other people are saying shorts are just as good as longer videos i think because you have so much knowledge to share. Your plants are gorgeous and the amount of effort you but in is admrable.
I wish you all the best in whatever you choose to do :)

I have been pondering why I haven't watched all your botanical garden tours, and I think it is because I need to be able to dedicate time to watch, and not do anything else while watching. Most of the time I am listening to your videos, and glancing at the screen from time to time while I do other things like plant chores, cooking or knitting. To appreciate the botanical garden tours, I can't be doing anything else, so I haven't made the time to just sit and watch two of them. I do appreciate the time and effort you have put into the tours, and I will watch them, but it will be more of a movie night for me.

But I will let it play through while I am getting ready for work and rewatch it again! Let's see if we can get those views up cause I actually did enjoy it! OK… so, I’d like to say that your videos are better than anything on Netflix… I’ve been watching your videos for many months and I’ve learned a ton plus been entertained… I mean, I’ve researched a lot about plants and no one has ever explained things the way you do… so thank you. Also, thank you for cleaning the space when you had the plants outside. I might have too strong of a reaction when people move stuff then don’t clean, but I find it mildly horrifying… so yeah… seeing you break out the vacuum? Hell yeah. Thanks for your videos. Love them all:)

🔫💧It's impossible to please all the people with all the content! As a horticulturist who's worked at botanic gardens, I'm definitely interested in the various content. And as an American, I'm fascinated by Aussie flora. Lived there for 6 months and I was in awe the entire time. I wish I could grow Proteas and Grevillias here in Virginia. Really enjoyed the Botanic Garden " A sea of flowers" video. And overjoyed that you're delving outdoors with plants. Really looking forward to see what you do. For myself in California zone 9b were into Fall. Bulb planting, winter peeping the Garden and cool season veggie gardening. So I'm viewing videos on these topics. Other RUclips creators have garden tours. Saving those and yours for winter viewing. If it helps to know your effort is not for nothing. I learn from any garden video from any part of the world and find them fascinating and interesting. When will merch your be available?
