Yes. Thank you for your dedication to follow through. One of my favorite things about your channels is the amount of time you dedicate to education. Part of that is watching the process from start to finish. You’re amazing.
Thank you so much:)
Your house is so beautifull and cozy Blessings love all your plants
My fav was the jungle tiger…❤
Mine too:)
8:22 YES!!!! I appreciate you talking about why your potting mix is the way that it is and how it connects to the care you’re able to give. Because someone else might do it the same and have their mix dry out too quickly for them. Such quality information here!!!
Thanks :)
Lol, I get up at 4:30, but that's only because I need an hour for walking and hour for playing outside in the garden before I go to work. I guess I still get up at 4:30 on my days off too lol. More time to play outside! Winter makes me so sad though, still dark when I get to work, dark when I leave, 4 days straight with no sun on my face, me no likey. LIVE for the weekends!
Simply stunning! 🪴 You are a plant magician!
BTI in the water and diatomaceous earth on the dirt! Over time it completely eliminated my pests!
🌱 The only plant I didn’t see which you need to get is the verrocosum x serpens!! You’d love it! You see the verro parentage in the backs but the edges are a little smoother and almost give majestic vibes. It sizes up quickly! Also the petioles are so insanely fuzzy and adorable. My frydek died back recently too. I had grown in in greenhouse cabinet conditions and she did not do well adjusting to ambient. I know she’ll grow back now that we are coming into our Canadian summer. I love that you also forget about plants (relatable!) and it’s funny how sometimes that’s exactly what they need! Very cool jungle tiger as always 🐈
Not sure if that’s even available in oz 🫢🫢 but sounds right up my alley
Very interested to see how the bottom of the Adansoniis do with all the new cuts!
와~~ 진짜 웅장하네요 부러워요~~~ㅠㅠ
I found your content in Feb of this year. I've been so inspired by your moss pole jungle. I'm currently attempting 8 different velvety species of philos on moss poles. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion with all of us. I'm also enjoying the content on your second channel ✌️🪴
Thank you so much :) happy growing !
🌸🪷🌹🥀🌺🌻🌷🪻⚘️🪴🌱🌴🌳🌲🌵🌾your awsome. Thanks Jan
Thank you, absolutely gorgeous collection. 🥀
Everything is beautiful. You get so excited about this passion, I had to smile!
Thanks :)
That explains why I couldn’t find that grow light then 🤦🏼♂️😂
There is a link in the description :)
Thanks, I saw it in the previous video but could only see the black versions when I started to search it, I like the white look, hopefully I can get it in UK when it becomes available.
47:38 the channel Pretty In Green says he uses a cooking oil/canola oil (which isn't as harsh as neem oil for sunlight) and water and uses a drop of dawn soap as a bonding agent. and it has kept all pests away.
Sounds good :) thanks for sharing :)
Beautiful garden🪴 If I ever visited, I don't think I would ever leave!😂
Thank you:)
Just recently started my houseplant journey and am really happy I found your channel explaining so much about them, so a big thank you!
Thank you so much for being such an inspiration, you are the reason why I start collecting plants . I love all your videos long short. You are funny, , your videos are such an educational piece that I watch over and over and over every single night when I go to bed with my iPad. Keep doing the great job being the inspiration as you are. Also, I love the way you rumbles in the name of plants that you can’t pronounce that is so cute. Thank you again.
Hey Sydney your house looks lovely not to mention the plants. Am in Africa and my plants don't seem to grow those leafy leaves, is t about the climate or am just at my baby stage of growing plants?
Africa is a huge place with diverse climate zones so hard for me to say. Best to research what plants naturally grow in your area & start with those :)
Loved your full tour, amazing!!!🪴🪴🪴
Thank you:)
That pictum tricolor at 26:38 🔥🔥
Hope my "El choco red" will mature quick. Please don't compare Australia to Germany... (because I live "next door". But we're going into summer now) .... and they don't have driving lessons in Australia I assume?
And I think your new Nepenthes is a N. ventricosa
Love that micans overgrowing the fence! 💚🌱 And the new Hybrids look really good, looking forward to see more of them
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour, thanks 🌴🪴
Thanks :)
🌱. Thanks so much for the plant tour; love your plants. Happy winter growing Jan!
Thank you:)
Does using something like Bonide systemic count as chemical? It's derived from tabacco.
My new obsession is also carnivorous plants :) I have 3 venus fly traps and a cape sundew. 2 Of the fly traps are the red dragon cultivar and the other is an alien. They are so freaking cool!
Love these tours, keep up the great content Jan! 🌱
Thanks :)
Yesss!! I’ve been waiting for this video for ages!! Always rewatch your old house tours 😅😂
🌸🍀🌼☘️
Hope you enjoyed it!:)
If you have enough indoor light and distilled water, the cape sundew catches little bugs.
Thank you for the plant tour. You mention getting rid of pest. Have you ever try neem oil. It works great.
I'm from Singapore and we have average humidity of 75 to 80% here 😂
Wow Jan, your plants are thriving and your yard has filled in amazingly 😀🇨🇦🌱
Thank you:)
🌳 i am so much looking forward to all the exiting projects you are preparing right now 😃
Yay! Thank you!:)
I'm interested in what your quarterly electricity bill is with all those grow lights?
🌵🌵🌵😃 Loved the sodiroi and all the rapidophoras!
Love your plant videos
Thanks :)
🪴🪴
I love your plant collection! simply breathtaking. thanks for the effort for this video
Thanks for watching :)
Preciosas tus plantas.
Como dicen en México tienes buena mano para las plantas.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks :)
So pretty 😍
Gorgeous plants
I'm a new subscriber, and I've really been enjoying your channel and content. I love the passion you have for your plants and the education you provide. Can you please share or provide a link for the clear pots you use for potting up your philodendron's? Thank you 😊
Hey :) thank you :) I buy the clear pots in store at Bunnings so don't have a link, sorry :)
my inspiration to have philo collection..
Thank you:)
Damn 80% ambient humidity is crazy high 😳😮 does it ever bother you? I feel like whenever I visit high humidity places (I have fam in singapore) I feel like I'm suffering sometimes 😅
I’m used to it after 12 years here :) in summer I just accept to be a sweaty mess haha
🪴🐈🌾 Love your plants inside and outside. Good luck with your new dedication to make these awesome videos as a job! I also love your second channel with Ms. Bailey, Tim and maybe other stuff you love doing.
What do you think about beneficial bugs as a treatment to pests? My velvety plants are always eaten by spidermites, it‘s driving me insane and I don‘t know what to do anymore.
Thank you :) no experience with beneficial bugs just yet :)
🪴🌵🌺🌴 - How do you like your Mickey Mouse Jan? You moved past it pretty quick
I got one recently and I'm hoping it will grow to a larger size and be a showcase in the garden. Not too impressed with it as of yet though.
It’s just growing in the garden, i do nothi by for it and pay it very little attention so given the low effort I think it’s fairly rewarding to grow :)
Thrips… I’m in the USA, but if you can get Arber bio insecticide and their fungicide… it works wonders. Safe for pollinators and good stuff, murders pests. Their website breaks for how it works. It got rid of my thrips and is a wonderful preventative that you spray on plants every few weeks.
Thanks for sharing :)
🌴🌲🌳🌵🌱
Great video
Last year you inspired me to put a few of my “houseplants “ outside and they have thrived. Also survived winter in the Hunter Valley NSW
Thank you:)
Wow those roots on the variegated monstera!!! Also love the crazy rubbish pot, stunning.
Give Brad a scratch from me, love the baby photo of him next to the scindapsus pictus
🌱
Thank you:)
Nepenthes nerd here! the unnamed one looks to be a hybrid called nepenthes 'jungle bells' or ventricosa x sibuyanensis, not 100% sure as the coloration is unusual. Hope this helps 😀
Thank you:)
🌱 thanks Jan ☺️ loving your setup. Also finding the references to which direction each of your windows face regarding plant placement to optimise light super helpful, living in NZ it’s been hard to gauge this as most tips come from the states. Keep up the fantastic work, loving the content ❤
Thank you:)
Hey, I’m only a few minutes into this one but before I forget, I just wanted to give you a lighting tip - I work in commercial media production. If you want the lights on the plants to look less harsh, you need to raise the overall ambient lighting in the rest of the room. I honestly think the lighting is fine for what you are doing, but I also understand perfectionism. 😂 A bright light bounced off the ceiling and out of camera frame would help. Take a look at Aperture - specifically their Amaran line. It’s a good trade off between power and budget.
Yes I wanna step up my lighting game :) EOFY is coming up hehe :)
Love how far things have come 🍃🍀🌵🌺
Thanks :)
New follower. So many beautiful plants to comment on! Can’t wait to learn about how you care for the Veracosum, as I just got mine and scared it won’t make it thru the month as I hear people tend to kill it but not you!! I love adansonii and your cultivars are nothing short of spectacular!! So many comments i can make and your anthurium corner in the bedroom to your Philodendrons in your office to the mixed plants and small anthurium in bowls on the table- exquisite! ❤
Thank you so much :)
🌺🪴🌼 As always great job!
Thank you:)
Loved the video, an awesome collection. 🪴🪴🌴🌴
Thanks so much!:)
Off-Topic-Question: Is the SPG from Germany? His accent sounds a lot like it ^^
Yea born & raised there :)
🌼🌻🌸 love all those plants!
Thanks :)
🪴love your channel. Greetings from Canada where spring is blowing. ❤🐈😍
Thank you:)
🪴 love your plants, so gorgeous!!
Thanks :)
I want to send you a hoya. Just because I love them and it would be interesting to see you grow one and make it flower because everything you grow turns out amazing!
I actually have one :) hehe
I have had good luck so far with captain jack’s dead bug brew for thrips! It’s made with spinosad (a bacteria)
Thanks for the suggestion:)
I def missing ur old place..looking good in this new place as well.
I noticed some post r moss n some a chunky mix..can u explain why???
Just experimenting with different mediums ! Moss is definitely my preference :)
🪴 Do you keep the moss around your anthuriums constantly moist ? Thanks for the tour everything looking like a wonderland 🪴
Yes :) thank you:)
Thank you for this video I could sit and watch your plants all day and Brad. ❤❤❤.
Thank you:)
That Billicosum tho 👀🌱
Hi there from Canada love your videos question have you ever used plastic mesh for making moss poles rather than the black wire? Yes I have the other clear plastic ones the D-shaped but as far as the mesh goes, it’s hard for me to find the wire they have a lot of plastic mesh here thanks
I never tried. My only concern would be structural integrity but suppose depends on the thickness of the plastic
Do you have more information on the Queen and your mix you use and why? Also, is it best they are in a darker window and not direct light?
I have a Plant Spotlight on my queen in my Plant Spotlight playlist where I talk more about her :) I have always given her bright light but never direct sun :)
Wow, it’s amazing to see you so happy. What a brave and intuitive choice you’ve made! Congrats on your continued success!
Thank you so much:)
Amazing tour! 🤌 Thank you! 🌵🌾🌿🪴
Glad you enjoyed it:)
Hey checkout this plant Cyrtosperma Johnstonii you might wanna grow it
I tried before… it didn’t like me 🫣🫣
🪴loved the tour!❤
Thank you:)
NO! It’s 3am. I need to go to bed. Whyyyyy must this pop up right now 😤😭😭🤣
Watch it tomorrow instead :) sleep is important :)
You rarely mention your bromeliads. I don't remember seeing a video about them. Have I missed that video or are you planning one?
It’s still in the making :)
Amazing collection! 🪴
Thank you:)
🌸 yes, video about pests coming up🎉
YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Gorgeous & inspiring. I’m placing a few things on moss poles bc of you! 🌱
Happy growing :) thanks :)
Hey! Clarinervium is an Anthurium, not Alocasia! By the way, you've got the beautiful version called Queen Clarinervium in your greenhouse 🌱
Awesome collection! 🌿
As for the biological pest control there are mites species that eat thribs (and other type that eat spidermites). It's sold (in Europe at least) in sachets easy to hang on the plant. The bad thing is that you need to replace them monthly which might not work for the collection of your size 🙈
That was just a mishap ;) thanks :)
33:57 looks a lot like Philodendron Serpens! Not sure though, great video SNP.
Definitely not a serpens but serpens could be in the parentage maybe :) thanks :)
Theres a superstition that says you shouldnt keep monstera in a household only in a cafe or a restaurant 😊idont know, i have wallpapers with monsteras😅
Well lucky i’m not superstitious then 😂😂
first
Wirklich schöne Pflanzen hast du da 😊
Immer unterhaltsam deine Videos 🙂 lg
Danke :)
Ahhh Germany! Ich habs gedacht das ist ja toll. Geile videos, mein vorbild. ❤ keep it up!
Danke :)!
Hello, your tour is calming to watch :) I noticed you grabbed the mother growlight by hand directly on the light. Is it not hot to hold it? I am using Sansi and it can burn you if you touch it directly haha. Also, I seem not to find anthurium regale in your videos. Will you be getting one by any chance? Would be happy to know your opinion of it haha.
It’s warm but not hot :) regales are still very expensive here so not anytime soon :)
@@sydneyplantguy ah i see, thank you!
🪴 🪴 🪴 I think your orchid might be a Cymbidium. Loved the tour!
Thank you:)
🌿i really enjoy your Videos 😊
Thanks :)
Would like to know more about your rhipsalis🌾🪴
I just bought them & hung them in the greenhouse & that's it :D so have veeery little knowledge to share about them, sorry :)
please add the 360 fan link
Your plants are gorgeous as always! So excited for the new Mother grow light!! Have you considered getting a greenhouse heater for the winter?
I have but heating is expensive & I have no reliable power source outside so they’ll just have to suck it up out there 😅😅 thank you:)
@@sydneyplantguy haha, that's totally fair! Fingers crossed they do well 🤞 🌿
Someone gave me a monstera deliciosa and I didn’t know I should have put it on a moss pole. It is growing like crazy, up out of the pot as well as stems that appear to be coming out of the soil. I have bought materials to make a moss pole, but I am afraid to bother the plant because all of the videos I see are of chop and extend, not a brand new chop. What do I need to do to get this crazy wild plant on a moss pole?
You don’t have to put deliciosa on a pole :) if she’s growing nicely already no need to fix :) if you want her on a pole inwould take some propagations & start the pole with a small plant :)
She is taking up about 4 square feet of space right now…very happy, but very wild.
The orchid on the outdoor table, is a cymbidium orchid, you can actually leave it outside in the winter where you are.. the cymbidium needs a cold period to set new inflos!
Yes. Where I live, in Southern California (even though it’s the opposite hemisphere as Sydney), cymbidium orchids reliably bloom much of the year, and they are out in the garden permanently. They’ve been outside for years, and decades even, for some of them. They like pots, they like tight root spaces, like many orchids do… some of them we haven’t even repotted in years. They’re in giant outdoor containers, and they bloom every winter, but most of them are still blooming, even now. I’d imagine in the southern hemisphere, they bloom between March-November.
Yes that’s the plan :) thanks :)
Should sale your photos!
What do you do with the top chopping of a moss pole? Are you able to repot that top bit?
Yes that’s the bit I keep using & extending :) check out my chop & extend tutorial:)
🌺🪴 Thank you for the tour! Grüße aus Deutschland 🇩🇪
Danke :)
Hey Jun! My new go-to pest spray is Doktor Doom Go Green Botanics Indoor Plant Spray. Its made in Canada and the active ingredient is Pyrethrins. Worked on some thrips and aphids I had.
Luckily pyrethrin is available in many products worldwide!
Thanks :)
@@erikm8372 I found out about this product from searching for good insecticides that don't hurt the plant but work well. The guy showed a few products that had only .02% pyrethrins but this stuff has .20%. 10 times more! (unless they're lying).
@@erikm8372 Thats awesome! From my research its great stuff for not damaging the plant which is what I wanted in an affective insecticide. This stuff has 10 times more than most other pyrethrins spray which is awesome for those nasty thrips!!
Love your content you are very inspiring 🎋🎋🎍🌱🪴🌾🌿🍀
Thank you:)
🌴🌿🍀😍😍😍🍀🌿🌴
Sorry new subscriber here. Are you a German living in Australia?
I am :)
@@sydneyplantguy Sorry lovely, I’ve carried on watching and than heard you say you were born in Germany 😉😅 I’m Czech living in UK 😁
